Robert Goulet, R.I.P.

Posted October 30th, 2007 by Rich Heldenfels

Interesting actor, famous singer, funny man. In tribute, one of his classic, hilarious ESPN commercials:

Goulet, by the way, had all the ESPN spots posted on his Web site here.

If I can dig it up, I'll also post his brief appearance in "Scrooged." But here's a vintage bit of him in his Broadway-star mode, along with the legendary Barbara Cook. Video quality's not great, but it's a nice time capsule.

I went back and watched all the ESPN/College Hoops commercials yesterday - and I emailed the link to friends, especially those who were at the game at the end of the Cinderella commercial - Wright State vs. Xavier in 1995. What a trip down memory lane: old players and coaches, and of course "Mr. G"
