I see your point, Bill. I think that "Back to You" has potential, still unrealized, but there -- with Kelsey Grammer, Patricia Heaton, Fred Willard just for starters. But the writing has to get better. Today I was looking at the DVD of "License to Wed." Robin Williams, a bunch of people from "The Office" in the cast, directed by a guy from "The Office" -- and not good. The writing didn't make it.

During the summer I was planning to watch Back to You. But then I read reviews it was thoroughly mediocre and it was funny but not great than I changed my mind. It's just because after Frasier and Everybody Loves Raymond I knew that unless BTY could reach that level of greatness I wouldn't be satisfied by the product even if it is a pleasant diversion. It's like Mcdonalds versus a juicy steak dinner at a gourmet restaraunt. Mcdonalds might be fun but if you have that juicy steak dinner one day then you're not going to be satisfied by fast food the next day because you're still going to have scrumptuous memories of that gourmet meal.

You're right. Kristin. I have changed the reference in this post to her "ex" instead of her hubby. I guess it just felt like a formerly married relationship, even in last night's episode. So for the record, here's how ABC describes Violet: "Able to deftly advise her patients in their relationships, she's intense, determined and unwilling to let outsiders see the obvious cracks in her veneer. Inside, Violet is crumbling after her recent breakup with an ex who has already moved on and married."

IN your blogs, you keep referring to Violet's ex-husband in Private Practice, but they were never married. It is her ex-boyfriend, though, not husband. They weren't married and when they were dating he said he didn't believe in marriage. Then he married someone else soon after they broke, which is why she is so hurt.

I was so happy when they sang that They Might Be Giants song. It's one of my favorites and I felt cool that I knew the reference.
