I thought it was a strong episode, except for the ridiculous misuse of Edward Herrman as a doofus intern. I'm sorry but Hermann is a fantastic actor but he does not do comedy. It's absolutely absurd. If you look at his roles throughout the years Rich Hermann has never done comedy. On St. Elsewhere he was the prim and proper founder of St. Eligius and Westphall's mentor. On Law and Order he was a prim and proper anti-abortion preacher. On The Practice he was Lindsay's domineering and chilly law professor. Even on Gilmore Girls which was in fact a comedy he played Lorelai's stuffy humorless father. I don't know what Hermann was thinking signing up for a completely out-of-character role as a wacky buffoon. It would be like casting Jerry Seinfeld in the lead role in a movie about a recovering alcoholic. Hermann should either have been cast as a hospital administrator or as a demanding patient, the spouse of a patient, or as Mcdreamy's father.

ALCS: I'm just irritated by the media coverage of it all. I went to mlb.com this morning to check the score, and the feel of the whole home page was just overwhelmingly pro-Boston. Of course, it's possible that I'm overly sensitive to this given where I live. Still irritating, though.
