Britney (Yawn) Spears

I checked out Brit's much-hyped performance at the VMAs tonight. The Britney silhouettes on the background screen certainly conveyed some rude imagery. But the only way she could have looked less interested would have been to chew gum throughout. Obviously unprepared, empty-eyed. She committed the worst sin for her: She was dull.

I think she looked uncomfortable - like a young mother of two dancing in her underwear in front of a roomful of strangers. No matter the weirdness of late, Britney is not the same artist she was back when she tongue kissed Madonna. If this is her first testing of the waters, why not at least let her wear a pair of pants like the rest of the dancers?
