"Lost"

In which I think of Lucy and the football, after the jump …
As touching as last night's "Lost" sometimes was, I did feel a growing sense of resentment as the show went along. Charlie got a long goodbye while Locke was given a quick tumble in a ditch. (Then again, I still refuse to believe Locke is dead.)
But that resentment was magnified by the end, when Charlie's episode-long march to noble sacrifice was, at the very least, delayed. Yes, "Lost" is supposed to be about surprises. Yes, it's perfectly logical for the underwater station to be guarded — whether as a matter of routine, or as part of a larger ambush set by the Others.
Still, it ticked me off. It was Lucy setting the football for Charlie Brown, then pulling it away at the last minute. It was a nasty little trick.

Oh come on. It was another insanely great twist from the best show on TV. Please name one other series which makes you long for the next episode like LOST does? Finale will be spectacular.

The best drama on TV this season was "Friday Night Lights."
