Only after the episode was completed -- but before it aired -- did The CW announce that the show would not be back. So I was thinking that, for a series finale, it sure looked as if everyone involved was preparing for the end of the series. That said, I can't help but think of what might have followed -- Rory on the road, Lorelai dining solo with her parents, Lorelai and Luke dining with her parents, Emily running the inn's spa ... I'm very sentimental about Gilmore Girls, and I'm glad Lorelai and Luke are finally together again. I swear (and I am not exagerating) I could have written every word of dialog last night - there was no specialness, no spark. I've been mostly toggling between GG and Idol this season and now I know why. The basic, entry-level writing just made the entire debacle that much more sad.
