As I said in my post that night, there were some things that I liked, including musical performances. Today I found myself pondering a purcase of T.I. in the CD racks (although I decided to wait), came very close to grabbing the Raconteurs (but opted to hear some of the album before acquiring it on the strength of the live VMA performances). And I am way, way past 29. In fact, in honor of my latest birthday, I'm offering any country songwriter out there a readymade title: ''I Just Hit the Double Nickel and I'm Feeling Like .. 10 Cents.'' That said, the show wasn't all that interesting in toto. I mean, when the news the next day focuses on a crasher -- and a recidivist crasher at that -- then the show can't be considered much of a success.

I have to second Kay's comment--co-workers were watching it on their computer screens today and I felt completely out-dated by the whole proceedings. The only thing I did like, The Raconteurs, and just about everyone in the office skipped over them. The key demographic is rapidly eluding me. Are you sure they didn't change it to 18-27 when 29 year-old me wasn't looking?

I tried watching--I DO like some of the music and groups. And this show has a history of great live perfomances. I was disgusted most of the time. It just makes me realize I am WAY older than I think I am!
