Kitchen Confidential," R.I.P.

by RD Heldenfels on December 9, 2005

in Kitchen Confidential, Television

I was looking up something else on the Fox Web site today and saw that "Kitchen Confidential's" return proved horribly brief. After bad ratings for Monday's telecast, the network has yanked the show again, and this time it won't be back. Fox will double-run "Arrested Development" this Monday to fill the "KC" time slot.

What a bummer. If this weren't the holiday season, when people's schedules are overflowing, I would set up a screening/wake for the seriesand show you a couple of episode that haven't aired. Oh, well. I guess we really do need to hope for a DVD…

Am I on another planet? I watched this show last week and thought it was hysterical. Why was it yanked?

It was a very, very funny show. Also a very, very unwatched one. Monday's telecast reportedly ranked fifth in its time slot, and Fox decided not to give it another chance. Which is denying those of us who liked the show a chance at some big laughs.

Great Cast. Well, the men were great. The women, not so much. Horrible writing. Horrible. Just painful to watch. Just so many predictable lines, plots, and chacterizations. I really wanted to like the show, mostly so it could provide a good lead in to Arrested Development, but it continued to disappoint.

wasn't it a lovely bit of machismo wrapped around all that cooking? Hilarious and sad, the way the writing was trying so hard to keep it all pumped up all the time. But I kept watching.

I was disappointed because this show kicked ass. i thought it was one of the better sitcome this season but it really did not get much of a chance. YOu would think they would then try and air it while everyone else is showing reruns. I am once again disappointed by tV and FOX in general

I am extremely disappointed that Fox cancelled KC. How did they expect to have an audience when they didn't give it a chance?

I loved KC. It was one the show I made sure I got to see every week. When the pulled it off to cover baseball I was sad. I couldn't wait for it to return to then only have it pulled again. I am so upset. The network never gave the show a chance to build an audience which I am sure was to come.
