Vote For Me And It's All Free !!!

Putting issues of religious freedom aside for a moment, the controversy President Obama has created over "free" contraception comes down to this:

Under the health-care law passed in March 2010, insurers must cover preventive care at no out-of-pocket cost for consumers. The Institute of Medicine recommended that all forms of contraception approved by the Food and Drug Administration be included on the list of covered services.

In order to believe any type of medical care comes with "no out-of-pocket cost for consumers" (for free), as ObamaCare pretends, one has to basically believe medical care is created when the Health Care Fairy waves her magic wand. Or maybe Obama believes a mighty wizard conjures birth control pills via the alchemic process of transforming coal into Ortho Tri-Cyclen (in which case enviromental groups would be demanding a "green" alternative).

But in the real world, nothing is free. If insurers provide birth control or any other type of preventive care for "free", in reality it isn't free at all. The insurers simply pass the costs along in the form of higher insurance premiums. While you may not pay for your birth control pills at the time you receive them, someone is paying for them, either your employer or YOU. Thus, the ObamaCare mandate is based upon an impossibility, the notion of "free" health care.

Because birth control and other health care is almost NEVER supplied for free, what is this issue really about ???

Prmarily, the "free" birth control issue is about Obama trying to buy the women's vote in the 2012 elections. He got that vote in 2008, and he doesn't want to lose it. That's why he is promoting the discriminatory policy of "free" birth control.

Yes, I said it was a discriminatory policy, because it is. Notice that Obama doesn't say ALL prescription drugs should be "free" with no co-pay. Nope. The "free" pills just so happen to be the ones that will help him get re-elected, like birth control. For example, I take a pill every morning that prevents me from suffering from a metabolic disorder known as gout. It's so bad that if I don't take the pill, I can't walk. That pill costs me $175 per month, but you don't hear Obama Claus saying I should get my pills for "free". No sir. Extreme gout sufferers aren't a big enough Democrat voting bloc. When Obama Claus pimps the illusion of "free" birth control, he says things like "women shouldn't have to choose between food and birth control". That is meant to elicit an emotional response and distract you from the fact that Obama is pushing discrimination. I could frame my illness the same way and say "Mr. President, gout sufferers shouldn't have to choose between food and walking", but I won't do that, because I'm not a liberal who uses victimology for political ends, even though Obama's "free" birth control mandate discriminates against me and millions of others.

Unfortunately for Obama Claus, he made a miscalculation when pandering for the women's vote, and he alienated the vote of Catholics and other religious groups. He infringed on the First Amendment principle of religious freedom, not that he cares a whit about that. He does care about losing votes, however, so he "retreated" on his "free" birth control mandate (according to the media). It's funny though, after the alleged "retreat", birth control is still "free". Obama Claus created a distinction without a difference in the hope that religious groups will be pacified. Pretty arrogant of him, in my opinion, but Obama thinks he is smarter than others. He thinks you won't notice, and if the media has it's way, you won't.

The liberal 'Government as Santa Claus' view is no accident. They do it by design, and the "free" birth control illusion is indicative of the way liberals try to garner votes – they try to buy them. Liberals like Obama identify constituencies, and then they try to purchase their vote. It's as simple as that, and they accomplish it largely by discriminating against people. That's why Obama issues discriminatory pro-union regulations. That's why liberal oppose right-to-work law. They want to discriminate in favor of unions. That's why liberals support discriminatory race-based affirmative action-type policies. That's why liberals oppose common-sense vote fraud prevention methods like voter ID. That's why liberals supported discrimination and censorship in the Citizen's United case. That's why liberals support discrimination in campaign fundraising. That's why liberals support massive discrimination in the tax code. That's' why liberals support public sector unions holding the taxpayers hostage even when states face massive budget shortages. That's why liberals are attempting to recall Gov. Scott Walker in Wisconsin because they don't like regulations he implemented legally through the state legislature, regulations that limited discriminatory union power over the public. That's why the mainstream media (whose reporters are 90% Democrats) has such a liberal bias and discriminates against conservatives. Liberal redistribution-of-wealth policies are all about discriminating against people. I could go on and on.

The Fourteenth Amendment to the Constitution says this: "All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws".

When are we going to enforce this ? Never, if liberals have their way. There is no such thing as Equal Protection in their eyes. They have replaced it with something called Social Justice.

All you have to do is look at who liberals demonize and rail against the most – business, "the rich", and evangelical Christians. Do you really think it's a coincidence that these groups tend to be less liberal than others ? Not hardly. Liberals pick on them BECAUSE they are less liberal, and because they tend not to vote liberal. That's why liberals crank up the class warfare machine and turn these groups into the enemy, even though they are NOT the enemy. In fact, the private business sector is the source of ALL the wealth in this country. How can they be the enemy ? It doesn't matter to liberals. Liberals say, "let's discriminate against the sob's", even if our country goes to ruin in the process.

    But, sorry,….and I looked twice…..you got it all wrong. I mean everything.

    Just one example: as far as insurance companies and their actuarial geniuses, providing contraception to all women costs them less than not providing it…..abortions, full term pregnancies, neo-natal care, etc.

    So, in essence, contraception is free…or at least cheaper for insurers, as opposed to not doing so.

    I'll let others deconstruct your other misunderstandings.

    It's no matter as you seem to have a fundamental misunderstanding of King's post as well as insurance in general. Abortions, full term pregnancies, neo-natal care, etc., etc., don't cost insurance companies anything. They are factored into the premiums consumers pay. Just as "free contraception" will be.

    Bottom line is that recent decisions regarding the morning after pill and 'free' contraceptives are just the beginning of dictates that will emanate directly from our president. This is the 'new', modern way, same as the age old central control way. It wasn't too long ago that the term 'dictator' used to have bad connotation but apparently many are willing to turn this country into a dictatorship, then assume that they will be able to mold the dictator within their own image every election or through street protest. Very foolish people indeed. Dictatorships quickly become one party systems with no room for compromise, no patience for debate.

I've never heard of anyone outside of the far left or occupy that wants to get rid of the police and burn down our infrastructure. Or, even more ridiculous, that people would want to turn their lives over to the central government except that Obama is black? Or, the most ridiculous of all, that Obama is smart?     He may be andrea's PaPa but he is a father figure to us all. Thank God for that, excuse me, I mean, thank the state. Most of us recognize how lucky we are to have them decide for us all the things we used to have to decide for ourselves, even if some reject them and their superior intelligence out of sheer jealousy.     its ok – just that my dad was held captive by the ss and nearly died in their hands – so I get very angry at the thought of anyone trying or suggesting that my family might be linked in any sort of way.     You are assuming abortions and pregnancies will go down with more "free" birth control. Unfortunately, the statistics show that the number of abortions and unwanted pregnancies has gone way up since the dawn of birth control pills and other forms of contraception. It seems counterintuitive, but it's true.

    You are also assuming the lack of "free" birth control via an Obama mandate equates to NO birth control. That's absurd. All sorts of inexpensive birth control methods are available these days.

    And your ONE questionable example hardly proved that I got everything wrong. Maybe you should try harder next time.

    It's cheaper in the long run for insurers to offer contraception than it is for those same insurers to pay for more expensive pregnancies, etc…….more pregnancies, unplanned pregnancies…as a result of contraception being less available.

    To say that pregnancies and neo-natal care "don't cost insurers anything" is, of course, a ridiculous notion.

    It removes choice from people's lives. The more coverages Obama mandates, the higher insurance premiums go. Under ObamaCare, I will have little control over my own medical insurance, because Obama mandates what I must have covered. I'd like to make those decisions myself as a free American. 

    I'd like to have a high deductible and insurance coverage that only covers catastrophic medical situations that I cannot pay out-of-pocket. That would keep my insurance premiums down and allow me say in my own health care. I cannot have the coverage I desire under ObamaCare, and neither can anyone else. That hurts we the people.

    Wouldn't insurance companies who pay for heart surgery through insurance you pay for be removing your choice to not have your insurer paying for heart surgery for others?

    ObamaCare is attempting to provide threshold medical insurance for more Americans. A citizen can buy more comprehensive insurance, if they wish to. 

    Even with a high deductible…..no insurance covers 100% over deductibles. How can you assure us we won't still have to pay for your medical care costs when you file for bankruptcy.

    Just a hypothetical…..not wishing anything bad on you.

    Actually, insurers probably make more money with more pregnancies. It's never a "cost" because costs are figured in their premiums. It will be more initial cost to insurance consumers, possibly, but in the long run we need more workers now that our politicians have looted the Social Security "lock box," don't you think?

    I'm not stiff-necked on the issue, which is a non-issue, really. Bishops will never rule in this country.  The left wants to make it an issue because Santorum is doing so well, but contraception is currently readily available to all and will continue to be. Santorum has stated repeatedly that he supports contraception and his voting record as a legislator bears that out.

    Of course insisting it be free in some misguided attempt to contain our darker-skinned populations seems distasteful to me, but it's a free country and the eugenicists have a right to fight for their beliefs, I guess.

    I think I still remember when budgets used to go for police and infrastructure. We have more important things now. It's about time that we took over charity from historical institutions who would force their oppressive views on people as they fed and clothed them. We are finally allowing people their dignity to have their needs met without any of the voodoo God stuff or the moral hangups that cause people to jump off bridges or the family stuff that, no matter how well meaning in some cases, should be left to the professionals. We finally have fair laws, even if they are expensive. Our local government paid almost a million dollars to a police woman based on rumors that she was sleeping with another policeman, which she was. A fireman up the road got millions because his buddies played a firehouse prank on him and served him dog food one time. Then the fire fighters who fed him sued and won millions too. Finally, we have our priorities right. For the first times in our lives we can be proud that we are becoming a 'free-for-all' nation even if we have diverted our funds away from police and infrastructure. We can always borrow money from our children and grandchildren for those kinds of things.

    Try again, Reverend. That was too ridiculous. It's like saying your car insurance should pay for both a blown engine and an oil change (preventive care). Wrong. The very purpose of insurance is to cover you in case of catastrophic situations. You're expected to change the oil yourself (personal responsibility). This principle has been perverted wildly out of shape in the area of medical insurance, and now Obama is making it all far worse.

    Simple. If you don't pay into Social Security or Medicare, you should NEVER receive the benefits for it.  And, I know MANY that do.  Cutting these people off would save Billions.  You know those little Social Security statements that report how much I have paid every year for 30 years, since I began working at the Age of 15.  Benefits should be determined DIRECTLY from those statements.  If you elect to be irresponsible and knock out kids when you drop out of high school at 17, and live in AMHA housing, you will NEVER qualify for Social Security.  Ever. Work or die.  By the way, I am all for contraception, abortion and primarily forced sterilization. We need to end the next generation of these kids that are kicking a ball through the AMHA development.

    So a wife can not then collect on her husbands social security  – that is what you are saying. Many women decided to stay home and not work and take care of the kids while their husband was the bread earner. How many women will ever want to do that – if what you want becomes a reality. What about the handicapped who cant work ?  Under your great idea they will never collect. By the way the LAW says you must have worked atleast 10 years to colect social security . And it is based on how much you put in to it. So I think Your obvious jealousy that someone might be living some good life on social security and never having worked is pure fiction.

     I don't receive any social security benefits presently, Andrea. I earn enough to put a little aside for my family when I'm gone, but my wife has a career of her own and I'm sure my kids will be hardworking producers who carry their own weight when they reach that stage of life.

    I find that eschewing hair gel, jewelry and the like gives me a leg up on the New York metrosexuals when it comes to budgeting and savings.
