1. How can President Obama hold a jobs summit and not invite the Chamber Of Commerce ? That's like holding a football game and forgetting to invite the offense.
Because he's an idiot.

2. How can the unemployment rate drop from 10.2% to 10% when 11,000 more jobs were lost in november 2009 ?
Because the person who published that statistic is really, really bad at math.

3. From 1776 to 1913, the value of the dollar increased by 13%. In 1913, the Federal Reserve was implemented. Since 1913, the value of the dollar has dropped by 92%. Why do we have a Federal Reserve ?
Right. Because I couldn't go back in time to 1913 with $10,000 in my pocket and be one of the more wealthy folks around. But yeah, the value of the dollar has DEFINITELY decreased.

4. Why would the President announce a withdrawal date of july 2011 from a war that is not yet won
Because he's not a fool; he knows that it is unwinnable because there is no possible benefit from us staying there. We lost. Period. Get over it.

5. Why would President Obama call the november 2009 jobs report "the best jobs report since december 2007" and talk about White House administration officials hugging each other in joy over the good news, when the november unemployment rate is 10% and the december 2007 unemployment rate was 4.9% ? FYI – the january 2008 unemployment rate was also 4.9%.
Because he was probably talking about amount of jobs gained, rather than a plateau of unemployment.

6. Why are the extramarital affairs of golfer Tiger Woods a big news story ?
Because America is full of absolute morons.

7. If the Federal Reserve prints money out of thin air, backed by nothing, in order to, say, lend $85 billion to AIG, and then AIG pays back that money from profits, isn't the net effect nothing but a devaluation of the dollar ?
Yes. This is exactly why we should have just let AIG collapse.

8. Isn't a devaluation of the dollar nothing but a hidden tax on the assets of all Americans ?
Now you lost me.

9. If a citizen continually spends more money than he/she makes, he/she will go bankrupt. How is it any different when the government does the same thing, except that the government will take all the citizens down along with it ?
Because government money is essentially fictional; the US has been in debt since 1776, and that will never change. With individuals, however, the circumstances are different: they have oppressive banks on their backs, forcing them to foreclose on their houses if they cannot manage to pay the banks back for their loans and mortgages.

10. Why would we hand health care over to government control when the part of health care the government does control (Medicare/Medicaid) is already so far in the red ?
See my answer in the "article" about Clinton's allegedly mythical surplus.

11. How can the Obama stimulus possibly be working when it is based upon money borrowed or printed out of thin air, backed by nothing, and is therefore entirely artificial ? (See questions #3, #7, and #8).
Wall Street's way up from last year, is it not? Hooray. At least the elitists are back on track…
And if we're pointing fingers, let us not forget that Bush initiated the Stimulus/Bailouts. If we're not pointing fingers, let's compromise that Partisanship has ruined America and the only reason half the people hate Obama and half the people hate Bush is because they are tied to a party.

12. If question #11 is too confusing, perhaps this will help simplify the matter. Does a man up to his neck in credit card debt improve his financial situation by getting more credit cards ?
What about a woman? Sexist.

13. What is wrong with asking the President of the United States to produce his original birth certificate ?
Nothing; but why does it matter so much? You're not really insinuating that he would be any less "American" if he weren't born here, are you? And furthermore, what would lead you to believe that is wasn't born here- his obvious Arabic accent, the fact that he is Muslim (AHHH TERRORIST!!!!), and the color of his skin, perhaps?

14. Is there any major Obama policy that is supported by the American people ?
http://www.marketwatch.com/story/new-health-polls-complicate-the-task-for-democrats-2009-12-02
44% of the nation is still a whopping statistic. If you're asking for a majority, probably not. But if you weren't going to support his policies, why did you vote for him, is what I want to ask the idiots who now hate him after so adamantly supporting his campaign.

15. Why don't we just put Khalid Shaikh Mohammed in front of a firing squad and save everyone a lot of time and money ?
Fair question.

16. How do tax increases ever help the private sector economy ?
How does the private sector economy ever help the nation as a whole? Oh, that's right, it allows the rich to get richer and the poor to get poorer, and the middle class to fluctuate depending on the economic circumstances. Awesome. Capitalisssmmmm <3

17. Shouldn't there have to be at least one act of Tea Party-related violence (from the Tea Party side) before the media denounces the crazy, violent, extremist Tea Partiers ?
Absolutely. But I would argue that the act of bringing guns to a Town Hall meeting is a tad over the line.
http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2009/08/11/2026745.aspx

18. On the same subject, why is it considered crazy and extreme to be in favor of fiscal responsibility, liberty, and the U.S. Constitution, as the Tea Partiers are ? What does that say about the state of our country ?
It says that people are finally starting to realize that the fact that it is the US Constitution does not make it objectively correct.

19. On the jobs front, which Obama policies are pro-business ?
Probably the Stimulus and Bailout packages…

20. Why are Democrats now in favor of cutting Medicare, when they've been against Medicare cuts for four decades ?
Because it's failing and they realize it's going to be obsolete in a short matter of time. It does seem hypocritical, but how long do we really expect it to last? Especially if the bill gets passed; then there will be no need for Medicare.

This was fun. We should do this again some time.

15. Because in America everone is entitlted to be considered innocent(even if they claim to be quilty) untill proven quilty unless he/she is killed by a drone which therefore means you must have been quilty. If this makes no sense to you please ask Obama or if he is to busy lecturing to actually answer a question consult with a liberal for clarification.

I see Da King of Reason gave back good feedback
I have a few of my own – starting from bottom

20. Why are REPUBLICANS for saving medicare from cuts when just one year ago they were FOR cutting medicare ?
Ask John Mccain (MR straight talk express )
why in 208 he proposed medicare cuts ? Ask Newt Gingrich why he also did and Sam Brownback
19 . You know the answer to that one
18.Is it crazy and extreme to be in favor of fiscal responsibility, liberty, and the U.S. Constitution, as the Tea Parties are ? because shout-outs trying to to not allow people to speak is not part of a democracy.
17, I guess we all go to town hall meetings with GUNS ? and pledge to BURN Nancy Pelosi ? thats not radical at all ?
16 – How do tax increases ever help the private sector economy ?
Not supposed to – But how does paying dues at a county club help it run? duh
13. Lets ask Mccain to produce his Birth certificate over and over again and when he does question that it is authentic – we dont because plan old stupid
10.Why would we hand health care over to government control when the part of health care the government does control is in the red -Just like how we have PUBLIC School and PUBLIC Colleges that are a blessing for some
9. Did you ask Bush how he could over spend / go to war then throw A PARTY AT THE SAME TIME by giving out tax cuts?
4.withdraw date – because unlike Cheney / Bush he has a plan to withdraw
1. How can the republican hold a financial summit and have the Bush people who were responsible for the disastrous 8 years as the advisers?

Andrea,
Do you support the popular practice of preventing those that deviate from the standard liberal line from appearing on collge campuses? I have heard an endless stream of condemnation of the behaviour of some at the Tea Parties but little from the same people about the fascist behaviour at many of our universities.

Angry conservatives : I have nothing against protesting of any kind as long as it is civil – I have nothing against the tea party people wanting to speak up EXCEPT when I went to a town hall meeting which was organized to be informative and the protesters tried to stop those that were to present an informative talk by shouting out trying to intimidate them. The group was encouraged to do so by a conservative web site in my area . The web site wrote for them to go there be loud and yell. Well they took it a bit too far , for when ever a doctor or someone wanted to speak they tried to yell him down so he couldn't . These protesters were not even in the majority yet they tried to make sure all you heard was their voice. Not right to use fear and guns and yelling to stop those from speaking.
I seem to recall protesters of the war being dragged out of many Bush events – They did not drag out those that where disruptive that day – they let them stay unlike how conservatives drag out the liberal protesters the first sign of anything negative. And you do not go to a town hall meeting with a gun – - I don't care if you are a liberal or a conservative . Seems to be conservatives think they somehow have more rights , that they can do more and we are supposed to allow it .
The town hall meeting I was at was in NY not some small town in the south or Midwest – here someone else wrote what happened

and what fascist behaviour at universities are you speaking about ?

Da King Of Reason (good name, btw),

I liked most of your responses. A few issues, though.

"4. Why would the President announce a withdrawal date of july 2011 from a war that is not yet won ?
Because he's not a fool; he knows that it is unwinnable because there is no possible benefit from us staying there. We lost. Period. Get over it."

If it's unwinnable, that would make Obama a fool for sending in 30,000 more troops and trying to win it, correct ? But I'm not so sure it's unwinnable. Maybe that makes me a fool too.

"13. What is wrong with asking the President of the United States to produce his original birth certificate ?
Nothing; but why does it matter so much? You're not really insinuating that he would be any less "American" if he weren't born here, are you? And furthermore, what would lead you to believe that is wasn't born here- his obvious Arabic accent, the fact that he is Muslim (AHHH TERRORIST!!!!), and the color of his skin, perhaps?"

You should have ended your response after the first word – "nothing" is the correct answer.
It matters because he can't be POTUS if he wasn't born here. I'm not a Birther. I completely believe Obama was born here. I just don't think asking for absolute proof is at all unreasonable. I'll let your Olbermanian racist stuff slide. It isn't worthy of comment.

"16. How do tax increases ever help the private sector economy ?
How does the private sector economy ever help the nation as a whole? Oh, that's right, it allows the rich to get richer and the poor to get poorer, and the middle class to fluctuate depending on the economic circumstances. Awesome. Capitalisssmmmm"

How does the private economy ever help the nation as a whole ? Is this a serious question ?Um, do you like food, houses, indoor plumbing, cars, jobs, and that type of stuff ? That comes from the private economy. I'm also wondering what your better alternative to capitalism would be.

"18. On the same subject, why is it considered crazy and extreme to be in favor of fiscal responsibility, liberty, and the U.S. Constitution, as the Tea Partiers are ? What does that say about the state of our country ?
It says that people are finally starting to realize that the fact that it is the US Constitution does not make it objectively correct."

But the US Constitution IS objectively the law of the land. If there is a problem, we can always amend the Constitution. We shouldn't just ignore it.

"the only reason half the people hate Obama and half the people hate Bush is because they are tied to a party."

Very good observation. Political parties are like tribes, and people get caught up in defending their tribe against the enemy tribe. I'd love to get rid of the Dems and the GOP both.

Andrea asks, "9. Did you ask Bush how he could over spend / go to war then throw A PARTY AT THE SAME TIME by giving out tax cuts?"

You're darn right I did, and I think you already know that. I've mentioned it like…a hundred times or so.

Andrea asks, "1. How can the republican hold a financial summit and have the Bush people who were responsible for the disastrous 8 years as the advisers?"

You lost me on that one, but didn't Obama appoint Geithner and Bernanke ?

Andrea says, "The group was encouraged to do so by a conservative web site in my area . The web site wrote for them to go there be loud and yell."

The Obama people encouraged their side to do the exact same thing.

Andrea, you love the liberal lie dont you

A decrease in the increase in spending IS NOT A CUT, why should any federal government program consume more resources than inflation requires?

When Newt or McCain talk about reducing the increase in spending from over 3 times the inflation rate to the inflation rate, it is not a CUT IN SPENDING, when the Demorats propose to cut 500 billion from medicade to pay off the AARP for supporting new legislation, well, doesnt that look a little like corruption to you.

Probably not, since you probably believe that demorats can not be corrupt.

Da King December 7, 2009 at 1:05 pm

Jeff, excellent points.

It's actually the gutting of Medicare Advantage under ObamaCare that AARP likes. That will enable AARP to sell a lot more of it's Medi-Gap insurance. AARP isn't looking out for seniors. It's looking out for itself.

13. because he has produced his birth certifcate many times. I assume that your point of view is that the certificate is false. There is nothing wrong with asking once, there is a significant problem with asking more than 1,000,000 times. Leave it alone he was born in the United States after Hawaii was a state.

@ Jeff

What Rush and Glenn don't like the fact that the Democrats found a way to pay for the healthcare plan and reduce the projected deficit at the same time. This dislike of the Medicare Advantage payouts has less to do with the reduction than with the politics of healthcare reform

Reply

The Reverend December 8, 2009 at 5:02 pm

T-bomb…..didn't you know? Obama has been president for 11 months but he is responsible for everything that's happened over the last three years. Has to be. You know, got Bernanke in there before he was sworn in as president…bailed out the banks, insurance, auto industries and started a new war in Afghanistan. Quite a guy, this Obama.

Da King December 9, 2009 at 10:45 am

My mistake. Obama left Bernanke in there. Same difference. If Obama was so unhappy with the "decision-making that led to this crisis," why Bernanke, who was one of the instrumental decision-makers ?

Da King December 9, 2009 at 10:48 am

camackey,
No, my point is not that Obama's birth certificate is false. My point is that he never released his original birth certificate, which would have ended all the Birther nonsense. The end.

15. Why don't we just put Khalid Shaikh Mohammed in front of a firing squad and save everyone a lot of time and money ?

This is a very valid question. Last night I heard a former prosecutor for the military talking about leaving some terrorists to be tried in military courts while these "special" ones are brought to New York City for civilian court trial. I have to think that AG Holder is thinking about expanding this trial to Bush, Cheney, and others in that administration, not just trying KSM. I see partisan politics involved in this move and also the chance that KSM will be released because he wasn't read his Miranda Rights before he admitted to guilt.

Just saying, Rev.
