- One nice thing about Bill Clinton's presidency was that you could oppose his policies without being called a racist (mostly).
- People who think Bush went into Iraq to enrich Halliburton have no right to complain about the Birthers.
- When you go looking for "code words" for racism, aren't you just making stuff up ?
- When I talk about Obama's huge first year deficit ($1.8 trillion) on this blog, why do liberals always bring up Bush's deficits to excuse Obama's ? (Note to libs – By doing that, you aren't countering my argument. You are only making the argument that Obama is worse than Bush).
- Obama can offer health insurance to 30-45 million more people with health care reform, or he can reduce health care costs, but he can't do both at the same time.
- Obama's health care reform offers less choice, not more choice.
- Only Democrats think Rush Limbaugh is the head of the Republican party.
- Why is it that when liberals call conservatives racists nearly non-stop, nothing ever happens to those liberals, but when Glenn Beck calls Obama a racist one time, 20 advertisers are pressured into dropping their ads from Beck's show ?
- The only point being made by those people who are carrying guns outside events at which the President is speaking is that the gun carriers are oblivious morons.
- Is there any doubt at all that House Democrats are seeking the financial records of health insurance companies in order to demonize those companies ?
- Why is it okay for Congress to buy private jets with taxpayer dollars, but it's not okay for CEO's to fly private jets to Washington D.C. after being bailed out with taxpayer dollars ?
- Why would we want the federal government, an organization that is nearly $12 trillion in debt (and counting), to run our health care system, which represents 17% of our economy ?
- The "Obama is Hitler" signs must stop, because Obama is not like Hitler – he's much more like a combination of Saul Alinsky and P.T. Barnum. (Note to liberal media – that Obama-Hitler "I've Changed" sign you idiots at MSNBC, NBC, and CNN keep attributing to right wingers came from a Lyndon Larouche group, a communist group. Is even a tiny bit of journalistic integrity too much to ask ?)
- Speaking of Saul Alinsky, doesn't Obama's playbook seem awfully close to Alinsky's Rules For Radicals (pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it) ?
- MSNBC is such a biased organization that they actually edited out the fact that it was a black man who was carrying the AR-15 outside an Obama event, so MSNBC could peddle it's racist angle to the story.
- In the interesting political poll of the week, Gallup polling showed that conservatives outnumber liberals almost two to one when it comes to political ideology, yet Democrats have a sizeable lead over Republicans in party affiliation. (In other words, conservative doesn't always equate to Republican. I can identify with that).
- If you want to know why the health care public option was in, then it was out, then it was back in again….it's because up to 100 House Democrats said it better be back in again.

Hail to the Da King, baby.
I didn’t know the clown with the AR-15 was black until I saw the photos in Rev’s blog. I totally got suckered into the MSM racist-white-militia spin. I should know better.
I wasn't cognizant of how much of a spin the media puts on their 'objective' stories until I read this. Maybe, recognizing that, I tend to filter out the spin when I read something without thinking about having to do it.
I have been wondering, but no story has mentioned, were the guns of the protesters unloaded? Probably how they decided to do it, I assume, since I'd think that they were just trying to make a point about gun control, not make anyone feel threatened.
Thank you for pointing out, too, that not all Democrats are raging liberals like Obama. Even though my father is a conservative Democrat, I tend to forget, with all the liberals running the show in that party.
As for the national debt thing, don't ppl realize that those of us who were horrified at Bush running up the national debt are just as horrified by Obama, not going to grant him absolution for getting our kids into a huge debt?
King's one liners are like most right wing jokes….only funny or intelligible if you are part of the kewl konservative kidz who appreciate wingnut humor.
So much disinformation….so little time.
King, did you go to the tea-party in Cuyahoga Falls?
Rev, I always enjoy it when somebody refers to my "disinformation," but then doesn't provide even one example to suppor their claim.
No Roy, sadly, I forgot about the event until it was too late. I remembered it (actually, my girlfriend remembered it) last night at about 7:45pm, and in any case, I am hundreds of miles away. I heard there was a huge turnout. Did you go ?
Tory,
I don't know if the guns were loaded, but I'd assume they were. The guy at the New Hampshire townhall had a loaded gun.
I'd attribute the differences between political ideology and party affiliation to the failures of the Republican party and it's abandonment of conservative principles. I don't have much belief in the disarrayed GOP these days. There are conservative Democrats, and I wish there were more of them. If that wing of the Democratic party took control, I'd vote for a lot more Democrats than I do now. Obviously, I don't have much use for the liberal wing of the Democratic party, other than on a few social issues. Their fiscal policies are generally insane.
dd20,
The guy with the AR-15 is a militia type from what I'm hearing, just not a white militia type. The MSM racist angle was bogus. The militia angle wasn't.
For those of you who want a better, less cropped picture of the guy MSNBC called a racist for protesting Obama, here's a pic of him that appears in the Arizona Republic. http://www.azcentral.com/community/phoenix/articles/2009/08/17/20090817obama-scene.html
No wonder his face didn't make in the MSNBC story. It was too colorful for their spin!
here's a classic one liner from tory's link…….
Another protester, 12-year-old Micah Vandenboom, was there with her parents.
She held a sign that made clear her opposition to the president's health-care reform plans.
"Under Obama, everyone will get the same health care, that's socialism," she said. "It has failed in other countries, you know, like Europe."
of course there probably some here that don't understand Europe isn't a country
Walter, you'r sooo picky.
According to the demographics of the last campaign, if he's black, there's about a 19-1 probability he's a democrat, but he's probably not trying to imtimidate anybody; just another democrat standing up for his 2nd Amendment rights.
Of course he could be that rarity, a black republican, in which case he really needs a loaded weapon for protection.
so frye, you don't think that a 12 yo should know that Europe is not a country?
these were probably talking points given to the 12 yo by her republican parents……and obviously THEY didn't know Europe wasn't a country
just saying
I've done some teaching in HS & Comm. Col., and I think it's encouraging that they know it's not one of our states, or maybe just the other side of Cleveland. That's a nonpartisan comment on the state of our education system and its products. I know democrats think they are smarter, but most of those high school kids think they're pretty smart too.
walter, if you actually read my post this time, you will see that the link was provided only to demonstrate how much MSNBC cropped the picture, so that, essentially, you couldn't tell that the protester was a black man. I'm not sure why they were going after that clearly skewed angle, but that's how they chose to report it. Probably just to titillate, to make the story seem much more sensational that it actually was. I, personally, think it would have made for a better angle had they chosen to emphasize the man's stupidity in bringing a gun so close to the president, to mock his skills as a protester. You're making many uninformed assumptions about the girl you quoted's home life. And you essentially ignored the fact that there are many failed socialist health care systems in Europe. Pick a country, any country, lol. I can't name one that doesn't have some form of socialized medicine. And with the whole European Union thing, many people, including Europeans, these days are referring to Europe rather than individual countries.
And, Frye, you're sooo right. If only I knew half of what I thought I did in 7th grade. And you're right in saying she may not have been exposed to much geography, especially if she is a public school student. I went to public school, and I don't recall a geography class until I took World Regional Geography as an elective in 10th grade. One of the reasons my daughters are in private school.
A lot of Americans can't even find the USA on a map of America.
http://www.recoilmag.com/news/america_not_on_map_of_america_0208.html
My favorite statistic from the above link is that 31% think America is "the best state of all the United States."
King, after reading your article about the geographic knowledge of our citizenry I understand much more how they managed to be taken in by Obama's rhetoric last summer and fall.
I have always known that Americans, by and large, know very little about geography. In basic training for the Army I "got" to go to Fort Ord, which for those who don't know was in California just outside Monterrey. Anyway for some reason they shipped in a bunch of draftees from the Buffalo, NY area and along with the California draftees they showed some real ignorance about the geography of the United States. They knew quite a lot about the world and very little about the US inside the first states from the oceans. Most of the mid-western people we had were very well informed about the geography of the US and knew little about the world. That showed me something about the schools in both areas.
I forgot to say that although my first geography in school was in the 4th grade most of my knowledge of that outside the American borders came from studying so much history in college. Also, when I was a child we had those little maps of the US made of wood which allowed kids to place the states in their proper places like a jig saw puzzle (that word hasn't been declared racist, yet, has it?). We didn't have the kinds of toys kids have now so we played with what we had.
I was in elementary school from 1937 to 1936 which I imagine puts me in a different group than most here.
I should add that Rev's comment about your one liners being humorous was his normal left leaning type of saying what is bad without pointing out any bad. I wonder if Kos is the leader of that king of thinking.
Wow, walt. Typo smack on a twelve year old–you're really getting better at this stuff.
roy,
I fall into that category of midwesterners growing up with knowledge of America, but not the outside world. I knew all the states and where they were in grade school, but if I had to point out, say, Switzerland, I would have had a hard time.
Of course, now that I'm older, I know that Switzerland is somewhere up near the Arctic Circle in the country of Europe
tory sez…."You're making many uninformed assumptions about the girl you quoted's home life." Apples don't fall far from the tree
I went to public skool and I knew that Europe wasn't a country when I was 12.
just saying
Odds are she said 'in Europe,' walt. But growing up in a home run by parents like yours I can see why you couldn't piece that one together.
tory defended the 12yo's statement by saying she didn't learn Europe was not a country till the 10th grade. Frye defended the 12yo's statement by saying he taught in HS and CC and and was glad the girl didn't say Europe was N of Cleveland. King and roybot find nothing unusaul that the girl didn't know Europe was a country because according to them, Americans are idiots.
then along comes larry with the typo garbage
yup, Americans ARE idiots
Walter, I can agree with you about the idiots but in my thinking it is the progs that are like that.
walter says, " King and roybot find nothing unusaul that the girl didn't know Europe was a country because according to them, Americans are idiots."
Are you shocked that a 12 year old didn't know Europe wasn't a country ? Weren't YOU calling Americans idiots by bringing it up ?
btw, your comments had nothing whatsoever to do with my post, but I guess that doesn't matter either.
I just wonder if she doesn't know Europe isn't a country how much she knows about healthcare. Since she got her talking points from Mom and Dad, how much Mom and Dad know about healthcare.
Your parents must be proud, walt. Did they run typo smack on neighborhood kids, or just you and your siblings?
larry…you're starting to sound a little desparate with your comments
larry d.,
Are you the typo smack czar?
I'd think that would be walt, frank. He sure nailed that 12 year old!
why would I be typo smack czar…….I don't believe it was a typo. Nobody else seems to think it's a typo.
you're the one that thinks it's a typo
Maybe it was, maybe it wasn't. Journalists don't get it word for word all the time, walt. The point is, the speaker is 12 years old and it's unseemly for an adult to try and regain a sense of self-worth by ridiculing her. But I guess that's just how you were raised.
C'mon larry. Be fair to walter. He has a very good point, which is…..
Because a 12 year old thought Europe was a country, all Obama health care protesters are idiots.
Who could argue with flawless logic like that ?
Except for everyone.
King sez…."Who could argue with flawless logic like that ?
Except for everyone."
yea, I see that…..LOL
?????? Everyone here disagreed with you.
Weirder and weirder.
about the armed protester……….PHOENIX (AP) – An Arizona man who carried a loaded rifle slung on his back to protest outside a Phoenix appearance by President Barack Obama says his action was motivated by his long-standing dislike for Obama, not a sermon the night before in which his pastor said he hated Obama and prayed for his death.
http://www.kswt.com/Global/story.asp?S=11011452&nav=menu613_2_6
about the nice Christian pastor…….."I hope that God strikes Obama with brain cancer so he can die like Ted Kennedy. You know, and I hope it happens today."
http://thinkprogress.org/2009/08/31/az-pastor-brain-cancer/
nice
a while back Howard Stern used to have a group on called the "Insane Clown Posse".
This group with pastor Steven Anderson could bill themselves the "Insane Christian Posse" and go on Howard Chizak's program
So, now all townhall protesters are idiots because of the armed protester ?
And if you want to play the "name that radical" game with me, you will surely lose. The Left has more radicals than you can shake a stick at, and several of them are in the seats of power.
A lot of them are now known as "czars."
Walt was going to explain why Obama needed fourty of them when I provided a list but it's been a few weeks now and I guess he's not going to deliver.
(I mispelled forty just for you, walt)
Van Jones, Mark Lloyd, Cass Sunstein, John Holdren……….
Obama might as well make William Ayers the Education Czar. It wouldn't be much different than what he's done already by putting some of these loons in power. In fact, if Ayers had not committed those bombings, he probably WOULD be the Education Czar. Obama doesn't seem to have any problem with Ayers' Leftist philosophy.
King….I don't really view the "Insane Christian Posse" as radicals……I see them as well, insane, hence the "INSANE Christian Posse"
you and larry would fit right in
about the nice Christian pastor Steven Anderson…….."I hope that God strikes Obama with brain cancer so he can die like Ted Kennedy. You know, and I hope it happens today."
that's not radical….that's crazy talk
Now you think I'm an insane Christian ???? Based upon what ?
You never really do come in contact with reality, do you ?
King, you are correct…….it was despicable of me to suggest that you and crazy larry would fit right in with the crazy talking "Insane Christian Posse"
That being said, I wish to offer an apology to the "Insane Christian Posse" for my comment
King asks if all townhall protestors are idiots….you be the judge
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZKBa9K_vAm8
more townhall idiots
