the Alaskan legislature passed a BUDGET with $550,000 for the Special Olympics. Palin cut that item of the budget by $275,000 with her line item veto authority. When something is cut from a budget, it's called a budget cut.

Clearly Andrea is talking about the BUDGET the Alaskan legislature had passed which contained the $550,000 for the Special Olympics.

There is NOTHING in Andrea's statement that suggests she is talking about anything else. You're just making stuff up.

If you are going to be that dis-honest, why stop at one year past….why not go back 12 years and point to how much more Special Olympics are recieving today under Palin than it did 12 years ago….or 20 years….or 50 years

2000 Palin posts, eh ? I wish I had more time to go to some of the other forums to read some of that stuff, but this one keeps me occupied.

I was reading on a forum that has nearly 2000 posts about Palin, so many that any thread about Palin is just lumped in with the rest, and the libs got to arguing about whether the number of posts about Obama would outnumber hers if they were all lumped together. How silly is that? Obama started campaigning for President in January 2007 and Palin was unknown in the lower 48 till very late July of 2008. They worry about whether their hero has more posts than Palin. If that is not PDS, I sure don't know what it is.

It would be like if you asked me if you could borrow $1000 from me, and I said no, I can only afford to lend you $100. Would you then contend that I had cheated you out of the other $900 ? Of course not (well, maybe YOU would, but a normal person wouldn't).

The only thing Palin did was not DOUBLE the Special Olympics budget. As a faux conservative, you should see the merit in that.

Alaska's congress added extra funds to the Special Olympics budget and as part of the budget approval Palen lined it out. That is not cutting. That is "not approving" an increase.
If you were told you may get a raise at work if it would fit in the budget and management said that since the economy has taken a downturn and they can't afford it right now, is that cutting your pay? No. Unless you use Obamanomics, which says that "we are cutting and balancing the budget next year but to do this we are going to increase the budget by 3 trillion dollars that we don't have." Or we are committed to creating or saving 300k jobs this year(immeasurable).Obama double speak. (When will they be saving these jobs after we lose 4 million more? I think congress bit off more than they could chew when they crashed the economy.)
I think she should cut programs like that. The govt gives alot of taxpayer money to those programs and it is eaten by administrative costs and doesn't benefit the athletes. We need to quit making bureaucrats rich or creating layers of management for programs that should be funded by the provate sector.
