Quidpro,
I wonder how long it's going to take the greenie zombies to realize that CO2 levels are relatively low from a historical standpoint, or that our global temperature is also relatively low, or that the last ice age occurred with CO2 levels way higher than today's, or that the earth's temperature constantly changes, period.

joe,
You mean you expect Waxman to know something about the bill he's sponsoring ? That would be a change, lol.

Tory,
Don't be too hard on poor Rev. When he responds to me like that, with basically nothing, that says it all. The Rev was just agreeing with me in a highly unusual way.

The "global warming", ... excuse me, "climate change" blather is merely an attempt to socialize the economy. Waxman's cap-and-trade legislation doesn't even try to hide the fact. The goal of Waxman and his colleagues is not to "save the Earth". It is to expand government.

King did you watch waxman on TV?? THis guy is an F'ing moron.

Rev, I notice you didn't disagree with what King said. You must be as scared as the rest of us should be. You should be. This country is going to the dumper because of your guys. I noticed that gasoline was $2.65 a gallon today. No one has mentioned this 30% increase. Consumer sentiment was at 54% today. The highest it has been in months. (investors use this to determine how Americans will spend their money.) This increase in gas prices will drop this number by 1/3. This will be disasterous and if there were any gains in the last couple of weeks they will quickly be turned around. Also cap and trade was put into the market for the hedgefunders like George Soros. He who controls energy controls the world.

Shut up, Chip, and come back when you have something other than insults to share with us. Yes, Chip, many American jobs have been lost. Do you want to lose the rest? My husband works for a manufacturing company in IT, basically programming their website and writing programs for sales. If there are no outside companies to sell to, then there will be no sales reps. The web programming could be sourced from the company's headquarters in Japan, leaving no reason to give my husband a paycheck.

Sounds crazy, but I think I know where all this is heading. This makes me think it might be wise to go ahead and outfit my house with solar cells. Maybe that's the point, to get us to stop using non-renewable energy?

What worries me is that increased energy bills will affect people who are poor the hardest. My electricity/gas bill is $200, but I have the financial resources to find an alternate energy source if need be. As an example, when gas prices skyrocketed, I had the money to buy a Prius (traded in two vehicles, but no car paymets). My cousin makes $800 a month. How is she going to get the money to install a solar panel or something like that? Her electricity bill doubling would mean that she simply wouldn't be able to to have electricity, though she has two young children who might need to, say, keep warm in winter.

Yeah, Congress is really looking out for the little guy.
