First. Did Bush offer a satisfactory explanation for his doubling of the national debt in only 8 years? Or, were you satisfied enough under spender Bush that the question never came up? Were you vocal about Bush endangering "our children and grandchildren"? And are you cognizant of the fact that GOPer Cheney believes "deficits don't matter…Reagan proved that"? Or is it that deficits only matter when Democrats hold the Presidency and the Congress? Is that it?

Ridiculously, Taxed Enough, says that Obama hasn't given an explanation of why future debt will be so high. That's all he's been addressing for the last 6 weeks. Deficits are high because Bush kept his wars off budget, deficits are high because under Bush-Cheney the financial industry gambled all the world's spare cash away and need bailed out to prevent a world catastrophe.

The deficits are high because drill-only, big-money loving Republicans have held us hostage for decades to Big Oil…..having nixed Carter's alternative-energy programs. Now it's time to deal with energy like adults….and it will take government investment.

The deficits are high because free-market health care ain't working. It's finally time to quit favoring Big Insurance and Big Pharma over, you know, the concerns of 300,000 million Americans. It will take money to start bringing the cost of health care down.

All of this is, naturally, not hidden under a bushel. It's been repeated for weeks by Obama….the same president-guy that Taxed Enough states should provide explanation for the spending. I'm thinking it's not an explanation Taxed wants……he just doesn't agree with what Obama is doing so he acts like Obama hasn't explained himself. That's kind of what I'm thinking.

As for your delightful president Obama, you are absolutely right, I don't agree with what he is doing. I realize,to you, it's ridiculous for me to want Obama to explain, not why the future debt will be so high, but why he insists on spending policies which will make it so high. The last thing we need is to up spending in such an astronomical, idiotic fashion as this guy and his Democratic cronies in congress are about to do. WE NEED TO CUT SPENDING!!!!!

The Rev blames everybody for deficits EXCEPT Obama, who in only two months in office is running them up faster than any presidential administration in history by his own choice, twice as fast as Bush did. Ladies and gents, THAT is the most clearcut example of blind, unthinking partisanship you will ever see. Rev also seems incapable of understanding that most people are just AGAINST nation-crushing deficits, whether they come from Bush, Obama, or whomever.

Rev, it's the internal combustion engine that has us dependent on oil, not Bush. And it's primarily DEMOCRATS who instituted and/or blocked the policies that resulted in us IMPORTING ever more of our needed oil from foreign countries for the last 30 years, which has transferred much of our wealth overseas. I also hate to break this to you – we're going to be dependent on oil for quite a while to come.

While reading Rev Red's diatribe about who is to blame for all the spending Obama is approving all I could see was pure and simple, blame Bush for it all. Not one thing in that rancid bit was anything other than blame Bush.

I was also amazed when he said "it will take money to bring the cost of health care down." Certainly that is true when one looks at the fact that Obama, and crowd, want to pay for healthcare of those who can't or won't pay for it themselves. It is going to take a lot of money to do that. LOL

It looks like Obama is going to "reduce the cost of health care" by making it cost about $200 billion more each year. Obama is also going to "restore fiscal responsibility" by doubling the national debt in four years. I don't blame you for laughing. Georg Orwell couldn't have invented better Newspeak than Obama when it comes to economic matters.

But at least Obama is continuing the global war on terror, er, I mean, the 'overseas contingency operations' against the enemy combatant terrorists, er, I mean, the 'man-made disaster' creators.
