No, no, no Rev, Obama's ethics rules sounded so good but he broke the whole thing almost immediately. Remember that today is his one month anniversary after his coronation and he has broken promise after promise with his actions or lack of action. Defense of some of this, especially the transparency in legislation that he and the Madame promised, just can't be done with any intelligence.

Obama broke his own transparency rules and lobbyist rules as soon as he had the opportunity.

And I already pointed out one thing that could be done to minimize the influence of lobbyist's money – public campaign financing. Obama broke his promise on that too.

As Christoper pointed out, actions speak louder than words. Obama says one thing and does another.

What attempt. Obama's "attempt" was not an attempt. His talk was just that, talk. Even wright dice clay called him as he saw it when he said he's just a politician and he does what politicians need to do.

What BHO is good at is entertaining us. He and the rev wright dice clay need to get back together and hit the road soon. Thats entertainment!

So…Obama's attempt to minimize lobbyist influence is what? wrongheaded?

I would think that after a long period where swinging door bribery and access peddling was the rule, that you would consider reform, even though imperfect, as a positive sign.

I need some clarification. Are you saying that politics in America is to be accepted as simply a pay-to-play game? Just the way it all works, and any attempts to slow it down or minimize it, as Obama has most certainly done with his ethics rules, are pointless?

Yes, Democrats can be listed, as can Republicans, who appear sleazy. Nothing new about that. But are you saying that nothing should be done to cut down on the sleaze? If not, what would be your recommendations?
