Democrats know Sarah Palin is the least qualified Vice Presidential candidate in history. Her experience is limited to four years on the Wasilla, Alaska city council, eight years as mayor of Wasilla, two years on the Alaska Oil And Gas Conservation Commission, and nearly two years as governor of Alaska.
Outrageous. If McCain wasn't a computer illiterate, as a recent Obama ad points out, I'd send him an angry e-mail (then again, maybe the Obama people might have mentioned in that ad that McCain's war injuries make it very difficult for him to type at a keyboard. When McCain surfs the web, someone else does the typing for him. Funny how the Obama people left that part out).
Why, the last time an American Vice Presidential candidate had less experience than Palin is way, way, way back in…
2004, when John Kerry made John Edwards his Veep pick..
Edwards' entire political career consisted of less than one term in the US Senate at the time. Edwards had no executive experience, and no military or foreign policy experience either. John Edwards later became one of the big three frontrunners for the 2008 Democratic presidential nomination, and garnered more votes than a slew of more experienced candidates. The Dems went on to nominate the only guy they could find with less time in the Senate than Edwards himself, Barack Obama. So, you see, sometimes experience matters to the Dems and other times, not so much.
Do you all remember how the media attacked Edwards like a pack of wild dogs for his inexperience, how they launched a firestorm of criticism and rumors about him, how they descended on his hometown like Huns, trying to dig up every fact ever known about the man, no matter how trivial or irrelevant ?
No, I don't either, because they didn't do it. That sort of thing is reserved for Republicans.
Interestingly enough, ABC's Charlie Gibson interviewed John Edwards right after his Vice Presidential nomination was announced, just as he did with Palin. You can imagine the sort of tough questions Gibson asked of Edwards, just as he did with Palin. But you don't have to imagine anything, because here is a link to the Gibson interview with John Edwards. I print here every question Gibson asked, every statement Gibson made:
GIBSON: In the first half-hour, we talked about how direct were the attacks from the Republicans on the podium last night [at the 2004 Republican National Convention], directed at the Democratic ticket of John Kerry and John Edwards. A response this morning from John Edwards, the vice-presidential nominee of the Democratic Party. I talked with him a few moments ago.
GIBSON: Senator Edwards, they went at you hammer and tong last night from the podium here at this Republican Convention, saying the fundamental security of this country was at stake in this election, questioning John Kerry's ability to be commander in chief. I wonder how you felt as you listened.
GIBSON: Did it make you in any way second-guess the decision at the Democratic Convention not to mention George Bush from the podium so often, not to engage as directly?
GIBSON: You have used this line about two Americas and they have turned that from the podium night after night after night, saying, A, that there aren't two Americas, and, B, that what's really there are two of, two John Kerrys. And they get into this theme about John Kerry's conflicting votes on various issues. How are you going to answer that?
GIBSON: You speak with such equanimity this morning. Didn't they [the GOP] make you mad last night?
GIBSON: Did you get mad [at the GOP], though?
GIBSON: John Edwards, good to talk to you. Thanks very much.
Whew. One only wonders how Edwards didn't crack under such a withering attack. Of course, since Gibson was attacking the GOP, I guess it wasn't that difficult.
Any questions about how the mainstream media influences elections ?
If you still don't realize what's going on with the media in America, here are the questions Charlie Gibson asked Barack Obama during an interview three months ago. The Hot Air website accurately reported the gist of Gibson's questions to Obama as follows:
How does it feel to break a glass ceiling?
How does it feel to “win”?
How does your family feel about your “winning” breaking a glass ceiling?
Who will be your VP?
Should you choose Hillary Clinton as VP?
Will you accept public finance?
What issues is your campaign about?
Will you visit Iraq?
Will you debate McCain at a town hall?
What did you think of your competitor’s [Clinton] speech?
Pathetic. Sycophantic. Crap. And typical of how Obama has been treated by the MSM.
We don't have a mainstream media. We have a propaganda firm serving the interests of the Democratic party.
And FoxNews. The ones the rest of the mainstream media laughably criticize for being biased. If for nothing else, I commend FoxNews just for being off the Democratic media plantation.

Edwards and Obama were/are both national senators who, at the very least, are/were up to speed on national issues.
Not true of Palin.
The same media you are now kicking….is the media that ran Rev. Wright rants on a 24/7 loop…and I'm sure we're not done seeing Rev. Wright.
Face it….McCain acted all impulsively to bait the extreme right……and picked an unqualified, VP candidate to be a heartbeat away from his own 72 year old person.
Now the blanks are being filled in…..and surprise….she's got problems, many problems, to go along with her unqualifications.
Sometimes the truth is frustrating.
Did McCain throw underhanded when he threw out the first pitch of the 2001 World Series? I would assume that if his mobility post-Vietnam was so bad throwing a baseball would be even more difficult.

No mention in this article that he cannot use a computer due to his injuries:

Another interview where McCain makes no mention that his war injuries make it difficult for him to use a computer. If this were the case would that not be a great and sympathetic reason why he does not use a computer?

Rev, Edwards and Obama have zero experience as executives at any level. That means that they have never had to make a decision and then stand by it. In fact, Obama failed to make any kind of decision while in the Illinois senate as his his present votes convey to us.
How simple does one have to be to talk about national experience for a man who wants to be the Executive Branch leader and has no experience of making decisions he must stand by and watch as those decisions affect the area he governs.
You count this one any way you please it is still Palin several years of executive experience and the other 3 zero years of same. If experience means anything then she should be the one running for President against the inexperienced Obama.
Jimmy, I read your first link and found no reference to how McCain threw out the first pitch and I don't usually watch baseball on TV so I can't prove what you didn't prove. As a man of 75 years old I will say that although I was a pretty fair country pitcher in my early life I would have some trouble throwing a baseball completely overhand any distance. You misfired on this one since you have no picture of the man throwing out the pitch. You just take it for granted that all people throw a baseball overhanded. I guess you think that he moves his arms the way he does all the time as an act to get sympathy. If so you are a fool, IMO.
Jimmy I read your second link and failed to find any questions about why he doesn't use a computer and lets others do it for him. How many broken fingers and forearms have you ever had? Were all yours attended by doctors or just by some other prisoners, as his were? Get real, Jimmy, and stop using lefthanded sites for proof. While you are at it read on the sidebar of your links, always. On the right side of your thing there is a reference to the LA Times reporting that the man can't type. Nice going, Jimmy.
In reading the NY Times (I call it the al Times) link I failed to find one question that had to do with McCain's ability to type or use the internet. Somehow it seems that old Jimmy thinks an interviewee should throw in anything he wants the interviewer to know about him, especially things like that that could win him some sympathy.
King, great job, as usual. It is very interesting to read the comparison transcripts you provided. I guess Rev Red and Jimmy didn't really read anything that they could have read, like the transcripts, themselves.
The mainstream media has finally come out of the closet and dropped any pretense of being objective. Palin embodies the bitter rube that clings to her guns and religion that the elite views as their obstacle in creating a maternal society in which they are the chosen ones in moulding the populace. They despise her not because of her stance on abortion, guns, etc. but because she personifies the traditional values of this country–personal responsibilty, the family, patriotism and that indivudual's rights supercede the collective.
Who this lady actually has become secondary to the culture war the left has started by their vicicous attacks. Why dont they just step to the plate and be honest, she represents the product of the white male power structure and those that find her appealing are equally misquided and need to abandon old values and embrace their vision. By attacking her many Americans feel they are being demeaned as well and are angry. The more they attempt to destroy her( although they may get her on "troopergate" )the more damage the left inflicts on themselves.
Do a "Control-F" and search for McCain. It's down in the stats, not in the write-up at the top.

Senator John McCain
Roy, From the second link:
Q: But do you go on line for yourself?
Mr. McCain: They go on for me. I am learning to get online myself, and I will have that down fairly soon, getting on myself. I don’t expect to be a great communicator, I don’t expect to set up my own blog, but I am becoming computer literate to the point where I can get the information that I need – including going to my daughter’s blog first, before anything else.
Q: Do you use a blackberry or email?
Mr. McCain: No
Mark Salter: He uses a BlackBerry, just ours.
Mr. McCain: I use the Blackberry, but I don’t e-mail, I’ve never felt the particular need to e-mail. I read e-mails all the time, but the communications that I have with my friends and staff are oral and done with my cell phone. I have the luxury of being in contact with them literally all the time. We now have a phone on the plane that is usable on the plane, so I just never really felt a need to do it. But I do – could I just say, really – I understand the impact of blogs on American politics today and political campaigns. I understand that. And I understand that something appears on one blog, can ricochet all around and get into the evening news, the front page of The New York Times. So, I do pay attention to the blogs. And I am not in any way unappreciative of the impact that they have on entire campaigns and world opinion.
King, great point on Edwards. Funny how it was not an issue then. Kerry had all the experience they needed.
Rev,
So a Senator is qualified to be president the minute he shows up in the halls of Congress, even if he has no prior government experience, like Edwards, but a person who has actual governing experience, like Palin, is not. Your hypocrisy if deafening.
And GOVERNOR Bill Clinton and GOVERNOR Jimmy Carter wouldn't appreciate you disrespecting them like that. Did you vote for either of those unqualified, inexperienced governors ?
And who broke the Reverend Wright story ??? FoxNews. Thanks for reinforcing my point.
Obama went to Harvard and Columbia law school. Edwards earned his doctorate at chapel hill. Palin went to 6 colleges to finally graduate with a BS in journalism at U of Idaho . She was very lucky to become mayor and later become governor. Edwards on the other hand ran a very successful legal career . I don't quite see how being a sportscaster gives you experience to run a country? Not to mention she teamed up with a low performing student john McCain who was bottom in his class and doesn't know Czechoslovakia, no longer exists where is the strength on Foreign affairs on that ticket??????
"Obama went to Harvard and Columbia law school."
Yes he did — affirmative action all the way!
That's why he won't release his college records. God Lord, B. Hussein Obama's SAT scores would probably give him trouble getting into UA.
Jimmy, where in your words does it say that the man threw the ball overhand to anyone? Again you are assuming that only overhand is the way to throw a baseball. I take it you have seen doubleplays where the throw was made underhand to initiate the play. You have seen that, haven't you?
Andrea,
If your criteria for a president is that he/she had to graduate from the Ivy League, then I guess you are a George W. Bush fan.
And I'm not seeing how being an ambulance chaser qualifies John Edwards to be president either.
"Up to speed with national issues" … If Obama had an accomplishment or two to hang his hat on it would be a lot easier for his minions to poo-poo Palin's qualifications.
All this is stupid.
Palin's answers to the few questions allowed to come her way demonstrate beyong a shadow of a doubt that she is not prepared or knowledgeable enough to be a heartbeat away.
Obama on the other hand has been leading George Bush on foreign policy and now we find that Obama has been leading on economic issues with his 18 month ago call about the economic disaster headed our way.
Palin can see Russia from her state.
Surely, you synchophants can't believe your own baloney
