The Judgement Thing
Posted June 6th, 2008 by Da King

Democratic nominee Barack Obama rails on and on about his most excellent and superior judgement, which apparently all stems from his pre-war opposition to the Iraq invasion. At last count, Obama has pointed this out about 322,195 times on the campaign trail, give or take 100,000 times. I'd say being anti-war is the number one reason Obama is the Democratic nominee, or maybe second after the fact that the media has been unbelievably biased in his favor. MSNBC should be on his payroll, not that anybody watches that sham of a network. The other networks, excluding FoxNews and ABC somewhat, are not far behind in their unabashed Obama worship. As proof, in 21 Democratic debates, Obama got the tougher questions exactly ONCE (from ABC). Obama performed badly in that debate, and Obama's supporters were outraged, being so accustomed to their hero receiving preferential treatment as Hillary was excoriated by the grand inquisitors. There were no more debates after that one. The Audacity Of Hopester had had enough. No mas. Obama returned to his strong suit, making scripted speeches in front of adoring audiences. HOPE, CHANGE, AND YES WE CAN ! No questions asked. It's not too hard to stand up to zero pushback.
So, how has Barack Obama's judgement really been ? Let's take a look.
Barack Obama says he didn't know his pastor of 20 years, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, was a crazed anti-american racist. Ditto for the Catholic priest Pfleger. Judgement: Lying
Obama thought former Weather Underground terrorists William Ayers and wife Bernardine Dohrn were just regular old college educators. Judgement: Lying again.
Obama didn't know his benefactor and leading fundraiser, convicted kickback artist Antoin "Tony" Rezko, was a mobster. He also didn't suspect Rezko might be looking for something in return even after Rezko bought a lot next door to the house Obama wanted to buy in order to facilitate the sale for the Obamas (the seller would only sell both properties together). Barry didn't suspect this in CHICAGO, the home of shady Democratic pay-to-play politics. Judgement: Naive, and that's giving BHO the benefit of the doubt.
Obama was against the "surge" in Iraq that has transformed that conflict. He said it could never work, that there was no military solution, and still clings to that belief. Obama declared the war lost, and still speaks only of pulling the troops out. Judgement: Wrong.
Obama either wants to negotiate with Iran with no pre-conditions or he doesn't, depending on what day you ask him. Iran is also either little to no threat or a very grave threat, depending on which way the political wind is blowing at the time. Judgement: Confused
Obama thinks he can get Iran's leaders to change their ways just by talking to them. Judgement: LOL
Obama wants enormous increases in federal taxation and spending when this country already has a huge debt and over $57 trillion in unfunded federal entitlement liabilities. Judgement: Economic insanity.
Obama didn't understand when Charles Gibson of ABC pointed out to him that capital gains revenue rose after the capital gains tax rate was slashed. Obama hem-hawed and then mumbled something about "fairness", one of his stock non-specific buzzwords. Judgement: Economically uneducated.
Obama railed against NAFTA while campaigning in Ohio and said he wanted to renegotiate that trade deal, but then O's people told the Canadians not to worry, that was just campaign talk. Obama rarely mentioned NAFTA again on the campaign trail after the rust belt primaries. Judgement: Screw you, Ohio
Obama has come out in favor of a worldwide ban on fissile material. Unless I'm mistaken, this includes the USA. Question. Who is going to make Iran fulfill their end of the no nukes bargain ? Obama could be setting up a scenario where we don't have nukes, Israel doesn't have nukes, but Iran could secretly develop nukes, making the Islamo-genocide wishers the lone nuclear power.
Even without this nightmare scenario, Obama is telling our allies and the world that he wants to turn out their lights. France gets 80% of it's electricity from nuclear power. What is he thinking ?
Judgement: Don't let Obama anywhere near the White House. Ever.
Here's a quote from Barack Obama that didn't get much attention. See if you can spot the errors:
"You know, I've heard from an Army captain who was the head of a rifle platoon. They're supposed to have 39 men in a rifle platoon. Ended up being sent to Afghanistan with 24 because 15 of those soldiers had been sent to Iraq. And as a consequence, they didn't have enough ammunition, they didn't have enough Humvees. They were actually capturing Taliban weapons, because it was easier to get Taliban weapons than it was for them to get properly equipped by our current commander in chief".
1) Platoons are lead by Lieutenants, not Captains, unless it is a special forces type of unit, which a rifle platoon isn't. 2) Platoons aren't split across different theaters. 3) Congress controls the military's purse strings, not the CINC. This is more a sign of inexperience than bad judgement on Obama's part, but it's poor judgement too, because Barack was silly enough to believe he could sell this pile of manure to his audience. Judgement: Bogus
I don't want to make too a big a deal out of the flag pin issue, because it's not a big deal, but I am talking about Obama's judgement, so I want to know….how does Obama decide that wearing a flag pin is a meaningless display of patriotism SHORTLY AFTER 9/11 ? How do you make that decision at THAT time ? Any other normal time, okay, but sometimes a display of patriotism IS in order, especially after the biggest terrorist attack in the history of the country. I just think Obama's decision is very bizarre. I don't understand his thought process. Judgement: Huh???????

This is heresy.
June 6th, 2008 at 11:50 pm
Heresy? Why it sounds like out and out truth to me. I didn't see anything that could be refuted so I guess old Larry d. just called it heresy to keep from having to say anything like refutation. It gets funnier and funnier all the time.

The authorities will be visiting you roy, probably sometime late next January.
June 7th, 2008 at 2:19 pm
I won't be worrying unless they win something I don't think they can win once people find out anything at all about Obama.
June 7th, 2008 at 8:04 pm
Heresy, yes.
But is it divisive ? I was shooting for that as well.
June 8th, 2008 at 10:01 am
How did you hope to be divisive with so much truth included in the article? I would say that you told way too much about the man and what he has turned out to be, but a little finger pointing at him may well be a good thing considering the amount of finger pointing he does all the time.
Now that old Barry is the real Dem nominee and has to get after McCain I look for a lot more finger pointing without a lot of backing. I just listened to Charlie Rangel explaining why Obama would be so much better than McCain. About all Charlie had to say was that he isn't Bush and McCain really is just another Bush. He glibly explained how the country has suffered with Bush but never mentioned the amount of "good" legislation the Congress has sent to Bush the past 17 months. I guess what they do isn't important to Rangel.

Again, extremely weak tea….if it isn't just a steaming cup of nothing.
1-Obama's pastor is not a crazy anti-American racist. That may be your interpretation, and that would be predictable. White Appalachian-rooted men and women, being isolated into their cells of culture as they are, were no doubt shocked over the theatrics of Wright…but then those white don't get out amongst 'em much. Most of what Wright said can't be rebutted. Obama was led to Chrsit by Wright. When Wright led Obama to Christ, Wright didn't insert a Wright clone chip into Obama's head. The only judgment issue here is the judgment of those who would seek to smear and guilt by association.
I mean you don't care that Phil Gramm still being McCain's campaign co-chair, for crying out loud. You think McCain's judgement is perfectly fine about Gramm….and Gramm is doing McCain's thinking for him, you know like Gramm had put a chip in McCain's head.

2-Ayers is a college educator…never convicted of any terrorism crime.
3-Obama said his real estate transactions over a vacant lot he wished to buy a small slice of adjacent to his side yard was "boneheaded" because Rezko did, as you say, purchase the lot and then sold a portion to Obama….but nothing illegal or below board was done here. Nothing.
4-The American people, by 2-1 want to pull the troops out. Judgment….democratic. And…there is no military solution to Iraq.
June 8th, 2008 at 3:12 pm
5-Obama has stated clearly that BECAUSE America is strong, our president should boldly talk to any nation's leader. This has long been, contrary to being considered confused, considered strong American presidential leadership in the mold of Kennedy and even Reagan.
6-Obama believes as long as you're talking, people are not being killed. Long held American tradition. What he believes is that, by talking and listening, each side at least knows where they stand….and incentives and disincentives can be customized to help the situation. Without talking, you have nothing.
7-Simply mistaken. Obama has stated where the money will come from to pay for much of what he's laying down. So your caricature is simply mistaken.
June 8th, 2008 at 3:24 pm
8-Obama's disagreement over capital gains rates that he had with the dipstick, Gibson, was over fairness. Secretaries having to pay almost twice the rate as their millionaire hedge fund trader bosses…for some reason….isn't considered fair by most Americans.
9-The NAFTA stuff was Obama's attempt at saying he's for the displaced workers that resulted from the agreement….and he will seek to replace those jobs, not bring them back.
10-It would probably be a good idea for ALL countries to stop the production of new fissile material. Sane Americans are for this.
Finally….your stretch over microscopic details of military manuevers and platoons and all….naturally….misses the important point Obama was making. Bush's Iraq crime has hurt America in our fight of al-Qa'ida by taking away necessary assets from Pakistan and ill-equipping our soldiers fighting there. As has been said many times…taking our eye off of al-Qa'ida to go and occpy Iraq was a colossal mistake. Obama was pointing that out.
Doesn't leave you with much of anything but ashes. I smoked all of your judgment calls.

Rev,
I assume you were having a off-day with your responses. I could have rebutted myself better than you did.
1) Sorry to disappoint you, but I'm not of white appalachian descent. I'm of German-Irish descent. I also know racist speech when I hear it, and Rev. Wright engaged in racist speech, repeatedly. Obama sat and listened for 20 years. You lose.
2) Your defense is that Ayers was never committed of a crime ? Earth to Rev - AYERS ADMITS HIS CRIMES. Big Duh, Rev.
3) If you agree that Obama said his Rezko deal was boneheaded, then you also agree with me that Obama was naive. Thanks. You got one right.
4). "There is no military solution in Iraq". WRONG. The correct statement would be "there HAS to be a military solution in Iraq before a political solution can take hold". But thanks for pointing out that Obama "governs" by polls. You lose again.
5) Obama has waffled on Iran, which is what I said.
6) It's way naive to think Iran will change their ways just because Obama talks to them.
7) In what make-believe world is reversing the Bush tax cuts, lifing the SS payroll cap, and doubling the capital gains tax NOT a tax increase. Plus, Obama has proposed more government spending increases than I have room to list here. You lose again, Rev. You aren't even close.
9) Obama isn't going to do squat about NAFTA. You know it. I know it. Obama knows it. Stop the madness.
10) Being a "sane american", I'd like to reduce nuclear weapons too. However, since I'm not a "naive pollyannish american", I know Iran can't be trusted. Obama is nuts.
Better luck next time.

Wow Reverend. Two thirds of ABJ blog readers think you just got smoked.
