Our founding fathers knew about this potential for governmental abuse over two hundred years ago, and my number one objection to the Democratic party is their eagerness to turn over all our liberties to that governmental whim. What a terrible idea. Oddly enough, the one area the Dems DON'T like the government intruding in is the one area the government SHOULD be intruding in, which is the area of national security. They're like a bad dream.

Here is perhaps the real Spitzer scandal:

Ayn Rand's “Atlas Shrugged” (1950) shows where our government was headed. Chapter Three is entitled 'White Blackmail,' in which a character in the book explains how the legal system works:

"There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What's there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced nor objectively interpreted — and you create a nation of law-breakers — and then you cash in on the guilt."

The above describes one of the Dim’s general philosophy of government — pass more entangling laws, increase regulations, and increase the power of bureaucrats to make & reforce
law via the power of agency.

Then, Dim prosecuting pigs like the following go to work.

1) Elliot Spitzer,
2) Mike Nifong of the Duke lacrosse players fame,
3) Patrick Fitzgerald, who persecuted Scooter Libby for a non-crime,
4) Johnnie Sutton, who put two Border Patrol Agents, Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean, in jail for shooting a Mexican drug smuggler in the butt rather than the drug smuggler,
5) Ronnie Earle, the district attorney in Texas who indicted then-House Majority Leader Tom Delay for a fund-raising practice that wasn't illegal under Texas law, and which he knew Democrats were using too.

Lessons: America is over regulated and we have far too many laws. We also have too many Dims [leftists] in public office — the less the better.

Personally, I don't believe consensual sex between adults disqualifies people from holding responsible positions. I also believe the polling numbers during the Clinton impeachment demonstrated that America, for the most part, sees it like I do.

I am glad Mr. Spitzer resigned. I wish Mr. Craig would have. It goes without saying Jefferson should have long ago. Yes, I even thought Mr. Clinton should have resigned….although I'm glad he didn't

Barney Frank keeps on reminding us that he is where he is in spite of being a homosexual and is very proud of it. I don't mind him for that reason but that doesn't make many people like him at all. I would think the Dem party would invite Frank and Jefferson to start a party of their own.

I won't say too much about the living legend of the Democrat Party, Bill Clinton, who can still put Democrats into a swoon by nothing more strenuous than opening his mouth in public.

But in answer to your question about whether it's right that Craig is still in office, although his alleged crime is nowhere near as clear cut as Spitzer's, my answer is still NO, I don't think he should be in office.

Btw, you keep referring to me as a Republican. I am not a member of the Republican party. Never have been. I'm just very anti-socialist, anti-communist, anti-leftist, and anti all those types of political beliefs. I kind of end up voting for the Republicans usually by default, which will probably happen this year also. In fact, since I voted in the Ohio Democratic primary, they probably have me down as a Dem now.
The only political party I ever joined was the Libertarian party, but I'm no longer a member. Those guys got a little too radical for me on some issues, though I still agree with them most of the time.

The cable news is already running pricutes of Spitzer and his wife juxtapose with pictures of 1) Bill & Hillary Clinton after the Lewinsky scandal and 2) Dim Jim McGreevey and his wife when McGreevey resigned as a sitting governor of NJ a few years ago.

For those who didn't know [and for those who want to forget], McGreevey was the screaming homosexual who resigned his governorship after his male lover threathen to out him. Of course, McGreevey, honest Dim that he is, never told his wife that he was a homosexual. He married her not that many years prior as cover for his political career.

Well, at least I don't think we'll have a McGreevey or Spitzer problem with our Dim governor, Strickland — but who knows.

Isn't this a wonderful scandal for the Democrats to have to put up with, the governor of one of the most populous states in the country doing a thing like Spitzer did? I wonder just how much fallout there will be to the national party. What if Obama had been considering Spitzer for his running mate. He wouldn't accept Hillary so maybe Spitzer would have been a possibility.

Mr. Spitzer at least had the decency to resign. Immediately. Thereby not giving any dems the chance to call for his resignation. Unlike the scumbag R party that has allowed Mr. Craig to stay so he can hook up with some pages. Yes, Vince, the silence is deafing. Whatever that means.

Should Obama select Spitzer as his running mate, hope, change, and porn would make an interesting sales appeal.

Maybe the NY Slimes sat on this story too.

I'm sure this only looks like a double standard.
