Seeking The Democratic Presidential Nomination

My fellow americans,

I have a dream, a dream of a shining city on a hill, where the buffalo roam, and seldom is heard a discouraging word. For now the skies ARE cloudy all day, my friends. As Dr. King said, "The thrill is gone, the thrill is gone away from me". We are not thrilled with the status quo. We are not thrilled when we have to work five days a week while pampered movie stars have lots of money, big mansions, and ride around in limousines. I ask you, is this justice ? Is it justice when Rosita, an undocumented worker, has to clean multi-millionaire Barbra Streisand's house for a few hundred dollars a week ? That is not justice. That is not america. No justice, no peace. I will take Mrs. Streisand's profits away and give them to Rosita who deserves them. Let Mrs. Streisand clean her own toilets, and let Rosita ride in the limousine. Yes we can !

If you have ever thought there was anything wrong in the world ever in your entire life, then I am your candidate, because I too have thought there were things wrong in the world. I am just like you. I bring not only change, but real change, and not only real change, I bring REALLY real change, that you can believe in with all your heart, from here to eternity, forever and ever, amen. I am courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent. I have been to the moutaintop, I have seen other people's money, and I'm going to take it from them and give it to YOU, all my children. You who deserve that money so much. All you have to do is vote for me, and I will set you free. No longer will you have to work like a slave for things like food, shelter, clothing, and video games, for I will give them to you for free, because you deserve it. Yes we can !

No longer will you have to worry about how you will pay your car insurance or be held hostage by the cable television company, because I will make sure that every citizen in this country has his or her car insurance and cable tv bills take care of. Why should some rich man like Brad Pitt get 250 television channels when Jenny Pratt, a 25 year old waitress from Youngstown, Ohio, with three children and no baby daddy, only gets channels 2-14 ? Is that justice ? The bureacrats in Washington, D.C. say yes, but I say NO. Is it justice when your next door neighbor has three cars while you have only one ? I say NO. As president, I will take that car from him and give it to you, my friend. You who deserve it. No longer will we endure the tyranny of our neighbors having more than we do. No longer will we have to keep up with the Joneses. When I am president, we will ALL be the Joneses. Some say these things could not be done. Some say these things would not be done. Some say these things should not be done. Some say I'm as dumb as a bag of hammers, but I say, yes we can ! Yes we can ! Keep hope alive ! We will, we will rock you ! We will, we will rock you !

Now, some of the naysayers look at my campaign of ecstasy and utopia for all mankind and they say "King has no experience," or, "King's proposals aren't practical," or "King is insane in the membrane". These nattering nabobs of negativity don't want me to give your neighbor's car to you. They don't want me to give you free tv and millions of dollars you didn't earn. They don't want me to give you Nintendo Wii or force Domino's to deliver free pizzas to you door upon request. And why ? I'll tell you why, my children. It's because they are GREEDY, that's why ! They want all those Domino's pizzas for themselves, and they want YOU TO PAY FOR YOUR OWN PIZZA. That's fascism, my friends, plain and simple, and my campaign is about freedom. As president, I will be free to give you anything you want, and I will give you everything your heart ever desired ! Yes we can !

Other naysayers claim "King has no substance on the issues", and that's a debate I'm happy to have. Let me dispatch that notion right now, by proposing substantive solutions to some of this nation's other problems. In my first week in office, I will - end the war, stop trade to end the trade deficit, outlaw corporations (only the big, evil ones), give you all money so you don't need jobs, make school optional and free, erase all american borders, and make health care free. There, problems solved. Did I miss anything ? If I did, just drop me a line, and I'll take care of it in 10 words or less. Thank you for your support.

Yes we can !

    Well put!

When the contributing sector of society have finally had their fill of brunting the burden, there will be no more Dominos pizza……….for anyone.

When motivation replaces jeolousy, maybe we can become a better place. Instead of focusing on the accomplishments of thy neighbor, focus on the path I can follow to achieve this. Don't say it's easy for me because I was "given" the opportunity, look at the upbringing that enabled me to seize the opportunity. My parents immigrated legally, from Europe, in the 50's and came without a dime. They both worked, saved, and did the best they could to raise 3 children. They leave me a template of life that proved invaluable. When my friends were partying, I preferred to study. While others were needlessly compounding their debt, I chose to live within my means. Some bought brand new cars…..I bought $500 junkers. Instead of having children, prior to stability, I chose to wait until 39 years of age. Different sacrifices lead to different destinies. People continue to focus on the money, while tuning out the stories that enables success. This is the problem. I may not be rich, but the path was chosen correctly.

Rather than be lectured by John Edwards, about the impact of poverty, why not emphasize the destruction of the family structure in America? Failure continues to breed failure and my heart only goes out to the children that don't have a chance. Contrary to liberal teachings……..having children is a responsibility………..more so than a right. Instead of parent(s) acknowledging their failures and weathering the embarassment, children are brainwashed into believing their plight is a government conspiracy. Generations upon generations have been brainwashed into blaming the government and social entitlement programs have, not only created an obstacle to success, but they have now transformed the government into a rogue "Robbing Hood".

Yes, socialism stands to gain from the suppression of it's own constituency. By keeping the fish hungry, they will always come to the feeding hand and despise those that escape the aquarium. When will the fish question why they are in the tank? There can be no break in this chain where job security dominates. The suicide of socialism would necessitate the individual to become motivated and that wouldn't be fun?

Despite popular belief, not everyone is created equal. Some will be machinists, some will be doctors, and some will be janitors. Some are not meant to go to college and some are not meant to play sports. The point is………..some will have more than we do and some will have less. We can only try our hardest and then rely on acceptance.

But let's penalize those that chase their dreams and try to set the stage for their next generation. I'll just have 5 more children and buy the mansion I have always dreamed, but couldn't afford. It'll be fun punishing the other suckers that work themselves to death.

  2. roysoldboy Says:

King, it sounds like you are trying to steal someone else's story here. I have heard all those things many times the past year and still don't accept them. I wonder why two people are telling that same story and trying to get the same job by so doing. It is just a rehash of the same thing time after time and it does sound so good to many people that they are willing to try to help either or both of those people get that job.

Once one of those people get that job I wonder if those who tried so hard to help them get it will have to awaken to the truth that they have been had, in a big way. While they are telling their story they never manage to tell people that they must have their majority in both houses of Congress expanded in order for them to give all these things to the dupes. I wonder what would happen if they had to tell the truth, just once. I wonder if they could even determine what is real truth anymore after a year of telling their lies in pandering for votes.

  3. Ghost of Vince Foster Says:

    King,

Your platform is incomplete for winning the Dim primary.

You played the envy card okay but you did little to appease the American-haters in the ranks of the party.

Nor did you sufficiently apologize to the world for America's prosperity & greatness.

Nor did you beg the Islamofascists to forgive us for being a free society and for supporting the only democracy in the middle East — Israel.

Nor did you call on America to kow-tow to the beloved United Nations and to submerge U.S. sovereignty into the New World Order.

And immigration, King, where's you're call for open borders? How do you expect to win the massive kook Dim vote without that in your platform?

Nor did you call for reparations to the blacks for the slavery that ended over a hundred-forty years ago. you've could as least called for the type of reparations that B. Hussein Obama wants; that would be a start for you.

And to be ahead of the curve here, why not propose reparations to Hispanics, too? Hey, Latinos vote.

And taxes, King. Gotta raise them. Say it will only be on the "rich" while knowing full well that the "rich" can merely be a middle class working couple.

Now take BO as your example. Not only does he want to rasie the run-of-the-mill taxes, but as you noted in an earlier post, he actually sponsered legislation whereby the U.S. taxpayer should pay a global poverty tax of about a trillion dollars a year — that's $1,000,000,000,000 per year on top of all the other welfare we already dole out globably.

And where's your carbon tax, King? Don't you know you got to grind the U.S. economy to a halt to show the world that America cares?

As for the U.S. military, you gotta promise to cut it down like Clinton/Gore did. And like Clinton/Gore and the Dim congresses of the past, you got to gut the intelligence agencies and destroy their ability to function. This is to render the U.S. defenselss so the rest of the world isn't "scared" of us anymore.

In this vein, you've got to come out against missile defense, especially now after successful testing. You cannot give the world –especially the Chinese, the Iranians, and the Russians –the idea that america will defend herself. That will never for for the left in the Dim Party.

And the guns, King! Don't forget the guns. The Dims want gun control to the point of confiscation, the Second Amendement be damned.

More could be listed, King, but what's the use? I'm afraid, me Bucko, that you've got a long way to go before you can effectively compete in the Dim primary.

  4. The Reverend Says:

What I would really enjoy finding out……would be…. how did northeast Ohio guys and the Kansas Cyclone, roy's old boy, get their hands on the same hallucinagens on the same day.

Is there some digital broadband method of drug delivery that I'm unaware of?

Sometimes conversations of this ilk have redeeming qualities, even though slight.

This is not one of them.

  5. Da King Says:

Gee Rev, I thought if anybody would approve of my platform, it would be you. You've been saying the same things for years. I'm hurt.

  6. Da King Says:

    Vince,
You have exposed the thinness of my Democratic platform. I guess I'll have to make you my campaign manager, so we can flesh out how best to destroy america when I'm the Democratic president :-)

  7. Da King Says:

Roy, I think I can safely say that those Dem pols wouldn't know the truth if it bit them in the butt.

Which reminds me, have you heard that both Hillary and Obama told Canada that they were just kidding about renegotiating NAFTA ? That Dem NAFTA act was just to fool us rubes in Ohio, which I knew all along.

  8. Da King Says:

    Alexander,
Very well said. If the whole country had your attitude, as our parents and grandparents did, and conservatives still do, this would be a much better country. The sense of entitlement, where everybody seems to think they are entitled to everything they want, that they should have it all right now, and if they don't get it, it's someone else's fault, is a very strange idea, and there's no mystery as to where it came from.

  9. Ghost of Vince Foster Says:

    King,

    Alert!

There are signs that B. Hussein Obama’s campaign is already deconstructing.

This is from Atlas Shrugs today: http://atlasshrugs2000.typepad.com/atlas_shrugs/

"Samantha Power, Barack Obama's top foreign policy advisor, has now compiled quite record of statements that raise the question of Senator Obama's judgment in choosing her to be his foreign policy major domo. We have commented before on a long series of anti-Israel comments, her (and apparently Senator Obama's) plans to accept and promote ethnic cleansing when they retreat from Iraq, her characterization of Hillary Clinton as a "monster", and now the latest one: a comment that insults the Prime Minister of our closest ally."

This Samantha Powers is just the tip of the iceberg of BO’s problems.

    ++++++

Here’s one plausible scenario for how the Dim primary ends.

Irrespective of delegate count, party leaders, in a panic, will go to BO and tell him that he’s not ready for prime time, to sit down and go back to the Dim Plantation and “wait his turn.” The Dim establishment will ease this by giving BO and his foul mouth wife a bone or two and then focus all their effort to somehow try and get that loathsome creature [known in some circles as the Hildabeast] elected in November.

Don't be surprised if this happens.

  10. roysoldboy Says:

Has anybody here noticed that Obama keeps saying one thing over and over in his desire for change?

He keeps saying the United States is the greatest nation in the history of world and then ends his speech with come with me as we try to change that great country.

Not in so many words has he said just that but in essence he has said nothing else. He wants to change the greatest nation ever to an out and out socialist state and I wonder how that is an improvement.

Oh year, Red I resemble that remark you made about a Kansas Cyclone. It is Iowa who has the Cyclones at Ames but in Kansas we have tornadoes. Do you have any idea that the two types of storms rotate in opposite directions. They sure do and we don't ever have cyclones unless some very old person is talking. Whoops, are you reall a very old person?

  11. wiseman3 Says:

    king:
apparently most of america don't see it the way you do:

Pollster: If election were today, either Dem would best McCain in Electoral College
The polling firm SurveyUSA says its polling from all 50 states and Washington, D.C., shows that if the election were held now, either Democratic contender — Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton or Sen. Barack Obama — would win more Electoral College votes than Republican Sen. John McCain.

SurveyUSA says Obama would edge McCain by 280-258 in the Electoral College, while Clinton would win 276-262. It takes 270 Electoral votes to become president. In 2004, President Bush defeated Sen. John Kerry by 286-251. The 2000 results: Bush, 271; Al Gore, 266. The historical records are all here.

in 08 we as a country will see true change:
    from a democrats nightmare
    to a republicans nightmare

is this a great country or what ????

  12. Alexander D. Says:

    da King,
Have to apologize for rambling sometimes, but the topic of "entitlements" gets my goat. Just the word entitlement develops a destructive mindset that is not so easily overcome. I do not owe anyone anything, nor do they me. However, I do owe allegiance to this country and I do care about taking care of our veterans, elderly, and disable. They've paid their share.

    Gentlemen,
Re Super duper delegates………………….here is another example of something they were for, before they were against. They've made their bed, so now follow the rules and enjoy the ride.

With all the talk of a Obama/Hillary ticket, nothing could be more in sync with irony. They sides loathe each other. Now who appears to be the desperate ones?

  13. Da King Says:

    wiseman,

Of course the Dems are leading. I just told you why. "Free stuff". It's cool, dude.

Does this mean you won't support my candidacy ? I'm giving out tons of free stuff, man. Maybe you should reconsider. I'm giving out lots more than Obama or Hillary.

  14. Da King Says:

    Vince,
Thanks for the link. I even got to listen to some Sarah Vaughn there. A treat anytime.

You know, I'd actually prefer it if Obama was lying about pulling out of Iraq to get the nomination. That would be more responsible than his plan to just start pulling out. That makes me think he is at least sane, even if he's not honest. Ditto for NAFTA.

As for those comments about Hillary, Powers just repeated the same things that all the far left blogs and media are saying about Hillary since she won Super Tuesday II. The far left is really po'ed that Obama wasn't coronated following Ohio and Texas, and they are treating Hillary like she's some kind of monster for bursting a bit of the sainted Obama bubble.

  15. Da King Says:

    Alexander,
I agree that a compassionate country has to take care of those who can't take care of themselves or need help.

But unlike the liberals, I don't think that consists of half the country.

    Roy,
You should post that exact quote from Obama about america being the greatest country ever, so let's change it. That was really funny.

  16. Ghost of Vince Foster Says:

"I'd actually prefer it if Obama was lying about pulling out of Iraq to get the nomination. "

King, Obama IS lying about an immediate pull-out from Iraq.

And why? Because the bipartasian foreign policy establishment will not allow it. Nor will the circumstances.

A pull-out of the type BO preaches on the campaign trail is merely boob bait to get the votes in the Dim primary.

It is impractical in real life. It could only result in 1) chaos n the Middle East, 2) ethnic cleansing in Iraq, 3) a huge refugee problem — with many Iraqis trying to get in here — and 4) a diminishing of U.S. security.

This would destroy the Dim Party — something to the degree which Comrade Hillary's failed nationalized health care plan did in '92 - '93.

But if BO should get elected — a prospect which, praise the Lord, is becoming less likely with each passing day — the best he will be able to do is offer up some token adjustment in the Bush strategy to try and appease the loon Left.

  17. Da King Says:

You know what, Vince ? If Obama is lying about virtually his entire platform, then maybe I CAN support him, lol.

I agree with you totally on the effects of an immediate Iraq pullout. We are in too deep to attempt it, at least for the present. As much as I'd like that situation to change, it won't for quite a while.

  18. The Reverend Says:

    One word to you guys…..Vietnam.

  19. Alexander D. Says:

    Wiseman,

I wouldn't bet your house against these polls yet. As I recall, weren't Al Bore and John Scary our last presidents? After all, the polls had them favored. Ah yes, and then there is the electoral college vs. popular vote debate, and 3 recounts, and dimpled chads.

Either the media is bored, or they are simply using polls as their weapon of propaganda. Sad to say, many individuals look at polls and don't even know who or what the hell they are voting for. Polls can work on these drones. I have more faith in my analysis than any poll can offer.

What I'd really like to know is what are the grounds for these current polls………….looks, age, hobbies? Until the candidates square off in head to head debates, polls won't even make sense. I can assure you that a fine line will be drawn between the two candidates, come game time. We have to wait though. The DNC is at the end of August and, if they haven't burned half the country down by then, you'll have your socialist representative.

    Reverend,
The only similarities between Vietnam and the Iraq war are quite obvious. The far-left has once again politicized the defenders of this great nation and turned them into villains. For their valiant service, they receive disrespect from the same crowd that enjoys burning flags and sipping Starbucks.

  20. Da King Says:

    Rev,
Okay, I'll qualify my statement about Iraq.

We CAN pullout immediately if we are prepared to let the area descend into chaos, with the million resultant deaths being directly on our heads, just like in Vietnam.

That is what the left calls the 'moral' position.

  21. Da King Says:

In addition, Alexander, the polls have been way off throughout this entire election cycle.

  22. Ghost of Vince Foster Says:

"We CAN pullout immediately if we are prepared to let the area descend into chaos, with the million resultant deaths being directly on our heads, just like in Vietnam"

Yes, exactly … but remember, King, the Dims of the 1970's had no trouble with the resultant murders in Southeast Asia after they cowardly cut off military aid to the South Vietnam.

Then, leftists — like John Kerry, Ted Kennedy, etc — who screached "peace, peace, peace" prior to the communist take over were silent as clams as the commies conducted their murderous purges.

But that's not surprising: To the left, peace is the absent of resistence to Big Brother while to fight for freedom is war in mtheir eyes.

But why should the Dims flinch about the killings in SE Asia? After all, they have no trouble with the abortions [killing unborn babies] that they give political co9ver for in the US.

    +++

Yes, polls are near meaningless as far as taking the pluse of the voters, and not just in this election cycle. On election day in 2004, they were calling Kerry the victor — and even their stupid exit polls said that.

All this is because the media is in the tank for the Dims and they use polls to manipulate public opinion to try and give the Dims every advantage possible.

And a Mr. Alex D. said above: "I have more faith in my analysis than any poll can offer."

Me, too — both in his analysis and mine.

  23. The Reverend Says:

Another brilliant and insightful neo-con commenter…..

"The only similarities between Vietnam and the Iraq war are quite obvious. The far-left has once again politicized the defenders of this great nation and turned them into villains. For their valiant service, they receive disrespect from the same crowd that enjoys burning flags and sipping Starbucks."

Now Halliburton, Blackwater, the draft dodging duo Bush/Cheney and chickenhawk commenters everywhere are "defenders of this great nation". For their "valiant service" in defense of multi-national corporation's bottom lnes, they, in the minds of wingnut warriors, are deserving of respect.

One of those "similarities" that are "obvious" is, most glaringly, the stupidity contained within the decision to start each quagmire.
Vietnam wasn't a crime from the beginning, like Iraq, it just turned into one in the late 60's. Iraq was a national and international crime from the moment Cheney made the plans for it before Schrub's selection in 2000.

The comment thread here needs a name. May I suggest "Cheering For Criminality"? Or…."When Crimes and Quagmires Should Be Respected".

  24. Da King Says:

The moonbat speaks. So the Iraq war wasn't about removing Saddam, one of the most brutal tyrants in the world. It wasn't about fighting an insurgency and Al Qaeda subsequent to that. It wasn't about democratic reform in the heart of the Middle East post 9/11. No, the whole thing was just so Halliburton could make a couple bucks. Yes, I could see how that would be the case - if I was completely insane, that is. You need help.

  25. Ghost of Vince Foster Says:

    King,

    Stop feeding the trolls.

It only encourages them in their lunacy.

  26. Da King Says:

I'm just trying to recruit some new customers for my online tin foil hat business, Vince. The Rev seems like a prime candidate :-)

  27. Ghost of Vince Foster Says:

That loon is a charter member.

  28. The Reverend Says:

Fascist thinkers…militarists….people who believe America should just mow 'em down, if there's any doubt….go all schitzoid and become bleeding hearts about saving the lives of folks they had previously been bombing and killing. It's some crazy stuff.

We didn't kill enough people in Vietnam and the fact that many thousands died after we stopped killing…is proof we didn't kill enough.

Maniacal thinking…..like that….is what got us into, and kept us in, Vietnam and Iraq.

No King, Iraq wasn't primarily about removing Saddam. Nor was it about fighting some insurgency…..remember there wouldn't be any insurgency because all the flowers and candy tossed at GI's would prevent one.

And if you and your sidekick, Casper, believe neo-cons had any intention of bringing democracy to the region….then you guys really are more gullible than I imagined and would believe anything neo-conservative leaders tell you.

The whole thing was about PNAC, oil, permanent military bases and projecting American power over the region. 9-11 was the opportunity….that's all it was. Any investigative work by any inquiring person can prove what I'm saying is true in about 1 hour of Google searches.

Those who reject what I'm saying out of hand are basing that rejection on faith.

  29. Da King Says:

Message to the Reverend from planet Earth,

You said, "We didn't kill enough people in Vietnam and the fact that many thousands died after we stopped killing…is proof we didn't kill enough."

It wasn't thousands who died after we left, Rev, it was MILLIONS who were slaughtered in the aftermath of the communist/totalitarian takeover of southeast asia that you care nothing about. Those millions are the people the U.S. abandoned to certain death. The North Vietnamese officials from that time will even tell you that america had them beaten until the american anti-war movement gave them hope that they could prevail if they only hung on a little bit longer. The anti-war movement proved them right, and has the blood of those millions of dead on it's hands. Peace is great, but peace at that cost isn't really peace. It's more like murder.

What's crazy is how you ignore all that, and how all you can do is use buzzwords like "militarist" and "fascist" to describe this country. Here's another newsflash from planet earth Rev. In the 20th century alone, your pal Karl Marx's ideology caused the deaths of about 120 million people, which america had nothing to do with. America stood against that communism, and only a brain dead lunatic would ever suggest we shouldn't have. It's like being pro-genocide.

Now the left is attempting to replicate the Vietnam defeat in Iraq, which would probably lead to the same tragic results. That has nothing to do with faith. It has much more to do with things like Al Qaeda and Iran. If you can't see the difference between the current government being attempted in Iraq and the one either of those two would put into place in Iraq, then I just feel sorry for you. Your Bush Derangement Syndrome has eaten away a great deal of your mind.
