LeBron is tired of the talk

The best preview material I can give you about the Cavs and Wizards series is up on Ohio.com. There is a detailed breakdown of the teams and each starter from a high-level NBA scout and my five keys to win the series for both teams.

Today LeBron responded, once and for all I got the impression, to DeShawn Stevenson. First, he said he doesn’t need the trash to motivate him. Second, his disputed Stevenson’s remarks about a personal attack. With Drew Gooden being the mole. And by the way, I don’t think LeBron is thrilled with Drew right now, he came to the locker room last week in Chicago and I did not see them make eye contact.

Here are the quotes:

“My response is I’ll be ready to play tomorrow. I motivate myself, I don’t need opponents to motivate me. I am going to go out there and play the way I do every night. I don’t need help.”

“I never said anything personal about him, nothing about his family or anything that would tick somebody off like that. I don’t know what was said to him, I’ve never said anything personal about anybody. Now, did I say something about his basketball game? Maybe. About him personally, I don’t go that far.”

“We don’t have guys that talk, you’re not going to see Z talking trash out there. It being Washington, them disrespecting our team we’ll see what happens. Game is tomorrow, we’ll see what happens.”

Does this “high-level NBA scout” have a name?

alan t. April 18, 2008 at 10:59 pm

Hey, what’s the deal, my post was deleted. Who is this “high-level NBA scout,” and why would he care whether or not he’s named? What’s so top-secret about a scout?

So if BW named the scout, that would make the article more interesting?

Yes, it would. To me, at least.

Wow, was that breakdown amateurish. You don’t just go player for player and give advantages like that, it’s fruitless. Looks like Brian copied and pasted from Hoopshype player dexcriptions.

Embarrassing.

I thought the scouting report was valid except for the edges. BW is a straight reporter.

Not surprising Windy didn’t give the name. I like his work overall, but it reminds me of back before the trade deadline when he said there was a blockbuster deal in the works for a “big-name player”. For some reason, he wouldn’t name the player (which turned out to be Ben Wallace). I’ve never heard a trade rumor where the player’s name wasn’t revealed.

My top constructive criticism: Move this blog to Topix so we can have real-time updates of peoples’ comments.

It wasn’t Brian’s best work, but it was a masterpiece compared to the work of the counterpart at the PD, Branson Wright. At least Brian actually does investigative work….Branson sits on his fat butt all season eating a bag of chips. Brian and Branson should just switch jobs because the PD is still a much better paper than the ABJ.

The Plain Dealer is a much better paper yet you are online reading the ABJ articles and taking time to post messages?

For the rest of you… who cares who the scout is. You wouldnt know who he was if BW did name him. There are a ton of scouts and I seriously doubt you know their names.

The article was good and to the point.

Side Note: I love to hear all of the supposed Cleveland fans bash the team and Lebron (who is one of the top 3 NBA players) and then watch him and the team prove everyone wrong. It’s time to jump back on the band wagon…. be real fans!!
