LeBron has, on multiple occasions, completely disregarded the play that was drawn up during the timeout and done his own thing. I'm not saying that he shouldn't do that, but I'm not about to blame Coach Brown for LeBron backing himself into a corner. Sometimes players and coaches make mistakes. But don't blame the coach for the player's mistake.

As long as Ilgauskas, Gibson, Wallace and Pavlovic are hurt, and as long as Szczerbiak can't make open shots, there isn't an offensive system in the world that could score consistently with this roster. The Cavs will have to rely on defense to win in the playoffs, the same defense that carried them to the Finals last year.

Defense and rebounding win in the postseason, and the Cavs have a coach who is very good at getting his team to focus on those aspects of the game. I'm not about to throw him under the bus when the team isn't healthy, and when his opponents have better talent.

Well alan t, I'm no basketball expert but I've seen several coaches (who didn't have the luxury of having the greatest offensive weapon in the history of the game) come up with plays that were a lot more creative and effective than what Brown drew up for that timeout.

How about this minor adjustment just for starters: Lebron catches the ball at the top of the circle instead of the wing. Maybe, just maybe, this would make him a little harder to defend and trap.

I understand: The Cavs don't have a ton of great complementary players. But I'm pretty sure Damon Jones was shooting well last night. Devin Brown was on his game. I'm really supposed to accept the fact that there is NOTHING to be drawn up for Lebron and two hot shooters?

Mike Brown, Hubie Brown, Jim Brown. What's the difference who is at "the helm?" All that's happening is the giddiness of the trade honeymoon is waning. You're seeing why people were booing Wallace in Chicago, you're seeing why West was 16th on a bad 15-man roster, you're seeing another slow white guy who can shoot and is actually a pretty decent player when his shots fall, and you're seeing that Joe Smith is a decent player and also why he has been doing the Drew Gooden vagabond career thing. This is Mike Brown's doing?

What's Brown supposed to discuss during a timeout? The Cavs have two plays after a timeout using Ferry's personnel: Isolate James and let him do what he does, or use him as a decoy, get him triple-teamed, and then have him pass it to one of the Cavs' plethora of open guys that can't do much to create their own shots, but can stand relatively still and sometimes make one. I don't understand how, in this situation, a coach can accept blame for being unable to use what's on his roster. It is what it is. Leave Bill Duke alone.

"Still, as long as Brown is at the helm, the only way we are going to beat good teams is playing flawless defense and having Lebron be absolutely perfect."

Mike C:

I'm fairly certain one of the perks included in Mike Brown's contract is a dry-erase board. That's how I blame him when we run a play that goes nowhere during a crucial possession after a timeout. I try very hard not to be a Mike Brown hater but situations like that expose him for what he is: A really nice guy and a one-dimmesional coach. I'm not even trying to to start a "fire Mike Brown" campaign. Lebron or no Lebron, such a move would be absurd after what the team did last season. Still, as long as Brown is at the helm, the only way we are going to beat good teams is playing flawless defense and having Lebron be absolutely perfect.

The telling comment was when Coach was asked about the game and said "What defense?" Defense is the major problem since b4 the trade. They think they can turn it on and off. Starting SP makes sense because he can get a little game time and it's obvious he's not going to give you big numbers off the bench. We know we will finish with a more losses then last year and giving up that many points should be embarrasing. Guys have got to ge t tougher mentally and everything will fall into place.
