[...] Wrestlemag.com wrote an interesting post today!.Here’s a quick excerptHughes out for a month November 16th, 2007 The Cavaliers will make an annoucement today that Larry Hughes is expected to miss about a month with a bone bruise in his left leg. It stems from the collision he had with Leandro Barbosa on Nov. 3. He missed three games after it but when he came back he was limping and obviously not playing well. He went just 2-of-12 against the Orlando Magic Wednesday and left the game limping. In Los Angeles in his first game back, he sat out the fourth quarter l [...]

s-o-f -T sof capital t. He should just move into the weight room at the practice facility in Independence and sleep there and lift weights all day. I remember I fell out of a 20 ft tree a few years back. I was only down for a week.

I would just like to add I agree Ferry should be shown the chopping block if this season does not turn out very well. How on Earth Gilbert allowed Larry to get a FIVE year contract is beyond ludicrous. How do you give an injury prone, streaky shooter that brings little else aside from scoring that long of a contract. I have issues with the $$$ (aside from the fact there was not really anyone else out there; Redd was NEVER going to suit up in Cleveland and Im not sure Ray Allen would have fit in with our scheme) but the length of the contract is what really irks me.

All the beef I have read here is definitely justified. I for one was one person who did not want us to give a lot of money to Hughes to begin with. Yeah, he average 22/6/5 his last season before we signed him but he played in an uptemo offense that created a ton of possessions. A players scoring average/productivity should always be based on 2 things: points per shot attempts and total offensive possessions. Also, what is this talk of Larry being a good on the ball defender?? Point guards have been shredding the cavs THIS year? They have been shredding us since LBJs rookie year if not further back. Every good PG we have played recently has torched us (see Iverson, Paul, Williams, Nash, Terry) Hughes plays the passing lanes well but still gambles too much allowing gaping holes in the weak side. This team without LBJ A) doesnt make the playoffs B) is barely a 30 win team for the season. Yeah, we have had a good record without Lebron in games he has missed, but I attribute this as an abborition rather than an underlying measure of how good our team truly is. The departure of Hughes, Marshall, Jones, Snow (the last 3 being moreso of their productivity-salary ratio ) and actually having draft picks in 2009 (thanks Paxson, Jiri Welsch for a 1st rounder. How do these A-holes get into this business again?) will paint a very clear picture of whether LBJ stays in Cleveland or not. Heres hoping that in the future we get a true PG, one with size and an overall good skill set of running an offense/playing D and shift Boobie over to the 2.

"Yo Larry D, quit complaing about Ferry. Last year, only one GM did better than him, the dude from San Antonio. Now zip it."

Just because LeBron James carried the Cavs on his back to the NBA Finals last year doesn't mean Danny Ferry is a good GM. It also doesn't make Mike Brown a good coach.

LeBron covers up a lot of holes and that's what he is doing now with the Cavs. Also part of your job as GM is to maintain a certain level of salary cap FLEXIBILITY for the future, of which the Cavs have NONE.

If this team wasn't so bogged down by over-priced, long-term deals given to players past their prime, then maybe they could do something to get some more talent around LeBron.

Maybe they could afford to slightly overpay for a player like Anderson Varejao. Heck, if I was Verajao I would probably ask for $9 million a year from Ferry seeing what he gave Marshall, Jones, and Hughes....not to mention the deal he gave Z when the Cavs were the ONLY team bidding for Z's services after they had already paid Z MILLIONS while he sat out 2 1/2 years with a bad foot.

Ferry is awful. To say he is good because the Cavs are winning is foolish.

The Cavs won last year in spite of Ferry and Mike Brown. They will continue to at least be competitive as long as LBJ is playing for them.

Although if we continue to let Danny Ferry run his course.....that won't be much longer.

I can't believe Daniel Gilbert has given Danny Ferry the opportunity to tear this franchise down for the SECOND time......ouch.
