The no excuses team won

Posted June 3rd, 2007 by Brian Windhorst

Say what you will about the Cavs and their offense, Lord knows I’ve said and written a lot about it, but they are a world class defensive team and have one of the most talented players the game has ever seen.  Now they have themselves their first trophy after steamrolling the Pistons, and I stress first because tonight is a night to believe there will be many more.

There was a belief that these Cavs could come into their own but nobody knew when.  Certainly not this year, so I thought just a few days ago.  But they pressed the accelerator with LeBron James at the helm and it was amazing to watch how fast things came together.

Here we go…

–You know I tell it like it is and you know I picked the Pistons to win this series in six games.  We’ll I’m telling you the Cavs outplayed the Pistons in every single one of these games.  Overall, they showed a much more poise after losing those first two games that could’ve so easily gone the Cavs way.  When the Pistons smashed the Lakers in the 2004 Finals, people said it was a five-game sweep because the only game the Lakers won came when Kobe Bryant hit an impossible 3-pointer in Game 2.  Well this was a six-game sweep.

–Go ahead and start calling him "Big Shot Boobie" because Daniel Gibson appears to be at the cusp of a pretty good career.  So he’s not a classic point guard, so what?  When you have LeBron, who distributes, having a guy who can make shots, free throws and is learning to drive is very valuable.  More than that, Gibson and LeBron have man crushes on each other and they both have poise.  You want to know who the Pippen is, as people have been e-mailing me about for years, this might really be the guy.  Folks, these guys are 21 and 22 years old.  Are you comprehending that?

–How about comprehending this…Gibson scored 31 points on nine official shots.  Or that LeBron even with all those double and triple teams had a 3-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio in the series.  Or that the Wizards, Nets and Pistons shot 42 percent in the 16 games against the Cavs.  Or that the Cavs have won 16 of their last 20 games.

–This was a gut shot to the Pistons, who once again walk away thinking they’re the better team.  So did the Nets, trust me.  And the Wizards, to a man, are convinced they should’ve beaten the Cavs last year and could’ve beaten them this year with all their weapons.  It seems hard to win respect in Cleveland, just ask LeBron, who will sit around knowing he’s not on the All-NBA First Team for the next year.

–Let’s continue to be honest, these Pistons are in serious trouble.  This might very well be the last night of the dynasty.  They already won 12 fewer games this year than last without Ben Wallace.  Chauncey Billups was below average in this series.  He had a great fourth quarter in Game 1 and was very good in Game 5, otherwise he was just another guy.  Tayshaun Prince was downright terrible.  He couldn’t handle LeBron and was embarrassed in Game 5 on defense while he shot 16-of-62 for the series.  He’s got a great future, though.  Chris Webber made some good plays, but how about this guy complaining to the coaches and teammates about wanting the ball more?  He’s never been able to win anything and he’s trying to tell the Pistons how to win?  He helped them, but he was lucky to be there.  Richard Hamilton played really well in four of the six games, the guy is a warrior and he’s got no blood on his hands in my mind.

–Now on to Rasheed Wallace.  He’s a good player with unique talents.  In ‘04 he was a difference-maker in getting them to the title.  But his attitude is a team killer.  I just watched the replay of his tirade.  Yes, Andy Varejao flopped on his fifth foul, but Sheed still hit him.  And you know what, Webber nailed him when he complained about a flop tonight and Antonio McDyess got his neck in Game 5, too.  Wallace started pushing Andy as they were lining up for a free throw and then he shoved him all the way down the floor.  Then he posted up and started elbowing him.  Andy, meanwhile, did nothing against the rules.  Then, with the game still not over, Sheed tackled LeBron for his sixth foul right after that.  It was weak-minded and it destroyed his team.  The Pistons had the second-fewest fouls called on them this season and the most technicals.  As great of a team as they’ve been and with all their huge wins, what a sign of a loser, to lead the league in complaining.  Man did it show in this series.  Especially compared with the Cavs, who took the high road most of the time.

–That said, the Cavs got a lot of calls tonight.  At the end of the game the refs were calling everything to try to even it out.  The Pistons got calls in the Palace, that’s basketball.  They got themselves in trouble by fouling LeBron every time he went toward the basket and it caught up with them.

–Don’t underestimate what Damon Jones did tonight in the fourth quarter.  He help spread the Pistons out and assisting on two of Gibson’s 3-pointers.  He’s played a key little role in this series as Mike Brown has had to go small.  On the other hand, Sasha Pavlovic was awful tonight.  However, he did play well in Games 3, 4, and 5.

–It was not a banner day for Brown, who tried to figure out for three quarters how to deal with that half court trap that got LeBron the ball 40 feet from the basket.  The Pistons did it last game a bunch, yet the Cavs didn’t seem to be ready to handle it.  But his defense kept those Cavs in it, just like he always said it would, and his small lineup won it.

Much more to come on the Spurs in the coming days.

    Windhorst…go away

  2. J.Phi Says:

Did you smoke crack or something? The Cavs are in the Finals. You should be writing for a detroit blog.

  3. J.Phi Says:

i will never read this tripe again. not like you’ll respond, fatboy…

  4. McG Says:

Just like Pippen, Gibson is a second-rounder.

  5. larry d. Says:

Brown does pretty well for himself; he’s patient and confident in what he’s doing, despite all the self-deprecation. The Cavs did score 98 pts., with LeBron taking just 11 shots.

And despite all the criticism LeBron took this season, he has also showed a great deal of patience and confidence throughout the year. He’s a leader in every way and the shot everyone bemoaned in game one is the perfect example–he has his teammates trusting him to do the right thing, every time.

It now seems funny to think that many pundits still call Kobe the best player in the NBA.

  6. Charlie Says:

Is it my imagination or did the fans boo Brown at the trophy ceremony? Maybe they were still saying “Boo-bie”?

  7. McG Says:

I agree, Larry. You could tell that he started the game last night looking to get everyone else going. I mean, every other Cav looked terrified at the end of Game 5, and I was afraid it would carry over. What he did was absolutely necessary, and I never thought that he would let things get away in the second half, that he would take over if he needed to.

Also, I can’t imagine a more satisfying end to the series. The only thing that could have made it better was a guaranSheed before last night’s game.

I have to say that Prince’s interview last night after the game was impressive. He was out of sync the whole series and had one of the worst games of the playoffs, but he gave the Cavs credit and didn’t whine.

Alan, we haven’t heard from you in a while. Post now, don’t wait to post only after they lose.

  8. kevin andress Says:

Just a clarification, McG. Pippen was the fifth player chosen in the first round of 1987 draft, according to basketball_reference.com.

What’s up with J.Phi? Is he a Bad Boys wannabe?

I note that a lot of people have been very unhappy with the progression of the Cavs from last regular season to this. It appears like the Cavs as a whole — front office, coaches, players — have the last laugh this season.

    Now, let’s win a championship.

  9. ak Says:

well, even though it’s not over they’ve pretty much proven me wrong. i thought the pistons would take it in six. but the cavs defense has been so spectacular they are able to overcome the many mistakes they make on offense. if the cavs are able to maintain the intensity through the finals i can see the spurs having a very difficult time winning a 4th ring. i can see duncan getting caught up in the whine fest ala sheed and being taken out of his game by the aggressive frontcourt of the cavs.

    let’s do it cavs.

  10. Rick Says:

Was anyone else shocked to see Dan Gilbert at the trophy presentation? I thought he was sitting down, or something. T-shirt… not his best look. And can someone get him a box to stand on next time?

  11. FearTheSword Says:

Gilbert is one small man, with one big wallet!

I guess I was the only one to actually pick the Cavs in 6 before the series started…

Scottie Pippen for sure was never a 2nd rounder . You may be confused because he as acquired in a trade

  13. Mitch Says:

Mike Brown was NOT boo’d! He had just finished the “Boobie for three!” comment and the fans responded with the low moan of “boo-bie”–just like the “Drew” and “Zee” chants…

Relax–why are so many of you looking for all the negative stuff that is/isn’t there? The Cleveland Cavaliers are in the flippin’ NBA Finals!! Enjoy it, you morons. Otherwise, move to Pittsburgh.

  14. travis Says:

Is Alan Tucker still around these parts? Haven’t read the comments in a while. Would be fun to hear from him now.

  15. JoeHoops Says:

Travis, Alan Tucker has left the building. I saw him over on a Memphis Grizzlies blog spewing his negativity. He’s gotta get it out somehow I guess. If the Cavs have trouble against the Spurs, that twit will surely be back on here though. Can’t wait :rollseyes

  16. doc Says:

Titties Gibson baby! Sasha scares me. He looks like a beaten down survivor of Kosovo right now. Ive never seen someone get swatted so consistently on drives to the hoop. I don’t even think he’s looking at the rim anymore. He needs to play better against the Spurs, obviously. Mike Brown, my god. This guy is going to be able to put on his resume “NBA Finals Coach”. What a travesty. He lucks into getting to coach the best player in basketball. It takes him nine months to figure out Eric Snow shouldn’t be playing more than 35 minutes a game. He buries Titties and Sasaha on the bench for half the season before realizing tha maybe Damona and Snow and Wesley shouldn’t be playing. He willfully admits that the team spends “10% of the practice on offense” laughingly, like it’s something to be proud of. He blows timeouts. He makes bizarre subs. We never score coming out of a timeout from a set play. He’s a joke. Granted, they play good defense, but most of time he seems completely in over his head. Same with Boatshoes. What has he done? Tell me. It was Paxson who drafted Lebron and traded for Gooden/Varejao and Sasha. His three major signings when they had more cap money than anyone in the history of free agency have all become busts. Marshall/Damona/Hughes define irrelevancy. But again, he will get a pair of golden boat shoes saying “NBA Finals GM” on the side. Hilarious.

  17. G-money Says:

This blog is really valuable because of the insider/behind-the-scenes insite Windhorst is able to provide. He knows about things that the casual fan wouldn’t pick up on; little details that make the games so much more interesting to watch. For instance, were it not for this blog, I would never have known that LeBron and Boobie Gibson have “man crushes” on each other. Thanks Brian!

  18. Geddy Says:

Incredible, a Cleveland team might actually win a championship in my lifetime. I’d begun to believe it wasn’t possible! Doc, you’re right, I’ve been saying it since the playoffs started–Sasha is a changed man. He’s timid now, and his “moves” when it comes to finishing to the basket rival only my grandfather’s. And everytime I see him attempt yet another finger roll, it makes me as aggravated as when Brown substitutes Snow in on an offensive series.

Can’t wait to watch the Cavs take on the Spurs–it’s such a boon to the Cavs that they made it to the finals rather than the Suns. We have a legitimate shot to take the Spurs, whereas I wasn’t too optimistic about our chances against the Suns (based on our regular season play against them).

  19. Boatshoes Says:

What has Danny Ferry done? Hmm, I believe he drafted some kid named Gibson with the 42nd pick in the draft last year. Granted, it doesn’t make up for some of his signings, but you have to give him at least a little credit.

  20. Brent Says:

Brian, you do a fine job and I really enjoy reading your insights. The blog is a great venue for the little nuggets that aren’t always ideal for print.

I noticed the same thing about Damon Jones. On one of those assists to Gibson I believe he had just passed up an open three. For a guy who not long ago was delegated to the end of the bench and was little more than a well-paid jester to King James, I’m really impressed with how he’s been willing to do all the little things you love to see from veteran role players. Now if he could just move laterally…

The Cavs are in the Finals with a young coach, a young core of players, and a very young superstar. They are in the Finals with a roster that’s far from perfect. They are in the Finals with an offense that leaves a lot to be desired. These flaws have given us all a lot of headaches. But now we see a team that has already been very successfull. Just imagine how dominant they can be in years to come if they can manage to improve on some of these areas. The sky is truly the limit.

  21. Mike Says:

I had know idea until last night that the team was owned by Columbus’ own Alex P. Keaton.

  22. kj Says:

to larry and the other old-timers here,

i am going to lack grace and tell windy and everyone else that people like me and larry d. said gibson was starting material back in december. i said on thyis blog that LBJ was coasting to the second half to save himself for a playoff run and how’d that turn out? yet, sooooo many bitched and moaned about it, not thinking that he had played on team usa all summer. in fact, i’m going to try to look it up but i’m guessing there have not beem many guys who have lead their team to the finals after playing all summer like LBJ did. actually, i recall something on espn not too long ago that showed most guys who play all summer under-achieve the following season. certainly true of wade this season…

and lastly, this is very satisfying to larry d. and me as we have had to listen to the pluto’s of the world how snow *must* be the starting point guard, how Z needs wayyy more shots, how sasha’s not ready to play meaningful minutes, blah, blah, blah. yet almost all cavs punditry has been wrong. while mere fans like larry d., myself, doc, andress, etc. have said things that have been proven correct time and time again.

am i bitter? hell no! we’re going to the finals! but one more thing, if you’ve followed cavs b-ball for the last 25 years, you should’ve know that the “team” LOSES to the superduperstar!! yet, we had all these people picking the “team!” and furthermore, the fact that the cavs took the pistons to 7 games last year in LBJ’s FIRST PLAYOFF APPERANCE was out right dismissed. well, guess what folks? stuff does not happen in a vacuum! ALL the signs were there…

ok. sorry for my rant. as always…GO CAVS!

  23. Pablo Says:

Thanks all. You’re right on with some insightful stuff. The Cavaliers truly are phenomenal. The Pistons are washed up and have too many excuses. I mean, Damon Jones is SWEET! Cavaliers in 6 over the Spurs (and the Tribe is beating the Mets in the world series and the Browns are getting the wildcard!)

The sky truly is the limit.

  24. Buttercup Says:

Saw on another blog, how that the Spurs are a “class organization who does things the right way.” Of course, that may have been written prior to Cheap Shot Bob and Bruce “Gonads” Bowen, beating up the Spurs. Just hope these thugs don’t go low blow on Boobie and LBJ.

  25. MIkey Says:

Great to see this team in the Finals. Period. This team is young and has many years in a weak conference to improve and begin to dominate. If the plan goes well I could see them getting to the Finals 6-9 times over the next 13 years.

As for the Spurs, well, barring a true breakdown I expect them to take it in six. Somehow it doesn’t seem as important to me whether the Cavs win or lose, knowing they’ll probably be having many more chances. Of course, the Cavs could surprise them and take the first game or two with the home-court advantage in tow. I’d like their chances.

  26. Nate Anthony Says:

Here is a video clip of LeBron posterizing Duncan in one of the Cavs-Spurs games earlier this year.

    http://thecavsblog.blogspot.com/2007/06/dont-count-cavs-out-nba-finals-preview.html

  27. dj Says:

Damon Jones assisted on a total of 3 of Gibson’s threes, had another one to AV for a slam in the mid-4th, and hit a layup of his own as the Cavs were piling it on. Big production even if his 3-pt shot was falling (and one just rattled out).

  28. Kyle Says:

Where in the world is Alan Tucker? Haven’t seen a post from him in days. Maybe he finally gave up on dissing a team that just became Eastern Conference Champs!!! They are just a few games away from winning it all… so I guess he has run out of bad things to say about them now that they are atleast the SECOND BEST team in the league. Good riddins to that guy!!

  29. Tom Says:

BW - great insight once again! The Cavs did take the high road the entire series. Also, Boobie would have been a first round pick if Shannon Brown wasn’t still hanging around. Boy did we luck out that he was still there!! This kid made some VETERAN PLAYS! Got to the line like he WAS Chauncey Billups. Wow! I am so ecstatic!

  30. Harry Says:

Does anyone think Alan Tucker might be sick or hurt? I don’t think if he were healthy he could resist coming on here to defend himself. Let’s take the high road like the Cavs and cool the Alan Tucker comments.

  31. Kevin Andress Says:

I have resisted saying anything about Alan, but I certainly understand the temptation. While sometimes funny, Alan can also be very abrasive and dismissive. It’s a blog response, so he’s allowed; still, you get back what you give.

My apologies if I’m wrong, but I tend to discount the idea that he’s sick or injured. As recently as Game 2 (when the Cavs went down 2-0 to the Pistons), he was posting regularly. I believe there was one post after Game Three and none in the three games and two days since.

In short, when his never-ending assurances about the ineptness of this team were exposed, he’s disappeared.

I wish him well wherever he is. Anyone can be wrong, and everyone has been and will be wrong.

  32. stupid 4 being a fan Says:

    Who cares about alan tucker, this is about the cavs. and yes i have been sasha biggest fan since we got him from utah, but i said it before and i will say it again if he do not step up in the finals i will not resign him i will put the money some where else, can i get a witness? lebron posey including sasha was very tight in trying to get to the finals, and now that they are there i expect them to play very loose. no one but us homers expects them to win so they got nothing to lose, the pressure is on the spurs. I still think, win, lose, or draw the team need a make over at the end of the season, starting with, yes you guess it larry hughes. lets enjoy this next week, no more criticizing the players, coach or gm, lets just have happy post, go to your happy spot and post happy post. WITH ALL MY HEART WE WILL WIN THIS SERIES IN SEVEN GAMES. IF I WAS CHARLES BARKLEY I WOULD PUT MY MONEY ON THE CAVS.;

  33. doc Says:

Are we honestly supposed to praise Damon Jones for passing the ball to a wide open, red hot teammate? Boy, that was just basketball genius. What a professional. The bar must be set half an inch off the ground for worlds greatest shooter (WGS) at this point.

  34. doc Says:

And Dan Gilbert wearing his daddy’s big t-shirt while hoisting the golden ball above his head was absolutely hysterical. I didn’t realize Quicken loans was founded by a Gnome.

  35. jmoe Says:

Doc is the new Alan Tucker of this blog

since he and Billy have obviously been

banned. How about your post from the

beginning of February where you and Simmons

predicted the COLLAPSE of LBJ. Well he just

collapsed after dropping 48 on the best

defense in basketball. He just collapsed

after getting 14 assists in game 6 against

the best defense in basketball. We are so

lucky to have this guy and you guys just

trounced him. As I said in my post back

in February get ready to attend multiple

parades. And Doc you and Tucker can ride

in the tomato wagon because BW and Tait

want to ride with you. Cavs will beat Spurs

in 6 for the first tomato throwing contest.

And one more thing Mr. Detroit Basketball

Windhorst Tits Gibson is a point guard for

the last time. He can handle,he can drive,

he can kick, he can shoot, he is smart, he

is fearless, and he is LBJ,s man lover.

One enforcer please to protect the tryst.

  36. doc Says:

Jmoe, you’re a moron. Simmons predicted the Cavs would play the Spurs in the NBA Finals back in October. When the Cavs were scuffling along at midseason, and everyone wanted to blame Eric Snow or Z or Hughes, I was the first person to target LBJ. Prior to Simmons. Prior to BW. Look it up on this blog. Lebron was clearly coasting, disinterestedly posting 7-18 shooting nights without getting to the foul line once. So I called him out. And eventually so did the national media. I realize this team is nothing without James. The turnaround began not when Hughes became point guard or when sasha was inserted into the starting line up or when Damona got benched, or any of the other reasons reverened pluto would have you believe. It started when the King started to act like he gave a damn. And he gives a damn now. I haven’t seen a player single handedly carry a team like this since MJ. No one was predicting his “collapse”. We were just waiting for the King to wake up.

This series is not going to be a rout. The Cavs match up pretty well with the Spurs. You can expect Bowen thrusting his knees and fists into Lebron’s nads at least five times a game, or trying to tie his shoelaces together when he’s not looking. I think we steal game two. It goes seven.

  37. John Says:

Tucker finally got the message: no one cares about his inane ramblings. Stop bringing his name up, and rejoice that he’s gone on to clog up some other paper’s blogs.

  38. Rick Says:

I just caught onto this blog when the playoffs began. Thanks Brian for having an outlet here thats enjoyable to read and one that allows people to post whatever positive or negative or “I told you so” comment that they want.

That being said, its freaking AWESOME that the Cavs are in the NBA finals - wow, been waiting to say that ever since the 88-89 Cavs had a good run. Nice to have the superduperstar on our side for a change.

I hope for a good, well-played finals. The one thing I hope not to see is cheap-shot Bowens or Horry or any other arse on that team start resorting to shenanigans if and when things stop going their way. You never heard about their antics against Utah because they had nothing to worry about. They are a good team yes but the main reason they beat the Suns is because of cheap shots against the star players. If they do that against Lebron or anyone else, the NBA and Stern should take action immediately - that kind of play should NEVER affect the outcome of any series. The Cavs are frustrating to watch from time to time but they never do anything on the court that makes me embarrassed to be a fan. Hope they don’t sink to the Spurs level once this series starts.

  39. jmoe Says:

Doc oh Doc lest we forget our February posts

let me remind you verbatim about your words

    and I quote.

“Just fire him already so the spotlight can shine hotly on the real culprit behind this mess: The King, the Savior, LBJ…. and his astonishingly precipitous drop-off in production, his complete lack of leadership, his massive ego, etc etc etc….

This was the year. You really think his awkward, overly muscular body is going to last a long time in this league? Like he’s going to be any quicker in three or four years? Like he won’t get fat? Like he’s going to actually do something so beneath himself like “practice”, when he could be off making commercials? This guy peaked at St V’s. I won’t give up on him yet, but please, let’s at least hold him 50% accountable for this train wreck.”

And my responding post (late February):

    “Tucker:

Do you actually think the “GLOBAL ICONS” skills are deteriorating? You and Simmons

and Doc are smarter than that.

You guys are just trying to get a rise in

our Levis. He is a phenomenal athlete whos

supporting cast is good enough to take him there. Who was Jordans center? Bill Cartright? Bill Wennington?

He is not Jordan but he is one of the top

five in the league right now. And he is not

coasting just saving for the big dance.”

And from such an intelligent man. A man

who went to medical school. I am shocked.

  40. doc Says:

Ummm…. so what’s your point moe? I attributed this team’s poor performance in january to Lebron’s lackluster play. This team will only go as far as Lebron takes them. We’re not in the Finals because of Hughes or Z or anyone else. We’re playing the spurs because Lebron stepped up his game. All of a sudden now he’s doing extra pre-game shooting practice. He gets to the line ten times a game. He stopped hoisting random fadeaways. Honestly, no one notices that he’s a different player now? All I did was point out the obvious: if Lebron is coasting or half assing it, this team has no chance. Guess what, he’s not half assing it anymore. He’s DOMINATING. He’s realizing his untapped potential. I love it.

You do realize that you haven’t “caught” me in some sort of contradiction, right moe? What i say now is the EXACT same thing I said back in February. There’s no question the Lebron we’re watching now is not the same guy who sleep walked through some of those early season games.

  41. Mike C Says:

Gotta love some revisionist history that goes on around here after big wins. I actually just wanted to get here and cheer, and still half the blog is filled with Tucker-esque reinterpretations. Kinda disappointing. Still, Go Cavs, and I’ll write it here first: Cavs in 5. Why? Why not.

    The Notes:

    - I’m not sure when the NBA started counting shot attempts when a player is fouled, but they were definitely doing that on Sunday. LeBron was 1-5 in the first half, but he took only two shots in the first half where he was not fouled. I know that he didn’t hit a jumper in the game, but his 3-11 was deceiving. I don’t mind, but I’ve seen national writers use that 3-11 stat to say that LeBron was off during the game. He wasn’t off.

    - Daniel Gibson was fantastic, and I have to admit that I have constantly doubted this kid. You have to love how he attacks the basket (and falls down), he can certainly shoot, and the fact that we can say things about Boobie being huge with a straight face counts for a lot. He still makes a lot of rookie mistakes (particularly picking up cheap fouls that destroy a defensive stop), and let’s not forget that just two years ago Damon Jones was filling it up for 30 points and 7-9 from three for the Heat. But for this postseason, at least, he’s been able to give the Cavaliers something they desperately need.

    - To Doc, and Bill Simmons, and Charley Rosen, and others of their ilk: If you make a million predictions during the course of the season, one or two is bound to come true. I know that making predictions is fun. I predicted the Cavs in the Finals back in October too, though I had them losing in 7 to the Mavericks. So I was half-right. Which is what most people end up over the long run. But you can’t pound your chest when you’re right, then stay quiet when you’re wrong. That’s why Tucker’s absence (if it is voluntary) is cowardly. That’s why Doc’s ranting is obnoxious. A Cavs victory is not vindication for you, it’s vindication for the team. And if you’re going to say you were right about Gibson, then you have to say you were wrong about Z.

    - If the Pistons beat the Cavs, they’re a great team taking care of business. If the Cavs beat the Pistons, they’re reaping the benefits of a weak Eastern Conference. Over in Miami Ira Winderman is still saying that the Heat, who were swept in the first round, should have been in the Finals. It’s clear that the Cavs will get no respect until they win the title. More proof that winning in February couldn’t have been less important.

    - Kudos to the Cleveland fans (and the CPD) for being excited but under control. Things could have gotten out of hand, but they didn’t. Go Cleveland, my town, my team, and I’m proud to say, Hey, this is Cleveland! (Still the dumbest team song/slogan ever.)

Go Cavs. Rise Up. Beat Detroit. Two-Word NBA Finals Slogan!

    Mike C

  42. jmoe Says:

OK peace up Doc. We all need to stick

together now as this team faces another

extreme challenge. If you guys calling

out Lebron made him step up his game I am

all for it. He is going to need it if we

are going to hoist the real trophy (the

gold one). Has anyone heard from Tucker

or Billy? What a mysterious disappearance

during this magnificent victory. I would

welcome a sermon or a rant right now but I

guess the Cavaliers brilliance is too blinding for the Negative Neds right now.

If you go back and review the tape, all 3 of Jones’ 4 assists came on sharp passes over or around Pistons defenders. They were not simple swing passes, and they were right on the money. He did just what he needed to do. Too bad that’s not good enough for you to appreciate.
