Just finished the piece - - Keyon Dooling? Tony Delk? Why in the world would Ferry want either of those guys? I think he's already signed enough faux point guards to last a lifetime, don't you think? Dooling isn't a point guard, and Delk isn't a point guard. The only time Delk has ever come out of his career coma was that crazy day five years ago when he had smelling salts surgically implanted into his rectum, and the guy went totally nuts for 53. Which also happens to be the total number of career assists that Damon Jones, Keyon Dooling and Tony Delk have combined. With respect to Earl Watson, that guy can't play either.

Unless Ilgauskas' contract is unloaded before next season, which, like his mired in mediocrity dad, is something Ferry probably doesn't have the guts to ever trigger, it will be years before they'll be able to get a legit good running point guard. I have more room in my underwear than Ferry does with the cap. I'm not joking about this. Anybody want to check?

Sorry, fella, but love just ain't in the cards.

And with respect to disappeared posts, I stand by my censored Pete Vecsey post regarding trading Gooden, and I ESPECIALLY stand by my censored Michael Reghi post. Egregious shilling is to be expected by local broadcasters in almost every city, not just in Cleveland. So although I have always despised it, I also know it's an evil that is never going away. It's a business, and promote, promote, promote and promote the product. But when a team-employed broadcaster has the chutzpah to use his microphone to kiss up to and say "Hi" to the franchise's majority owner on the air while the game is in progress, then that fine line separating credibility and farce has not only been crossed, it has been annihilated.

And now that I think about it, why does Mark Cuban personally attend every Mavs home and away game, but Gilbert watches most Cavs home and away games on his satellite dish?

One more boink that is not going to last five minutes.

Brian, whether it's you doing it personally or it's your outsourced editing yutz that's doing the comment-vanishing these days, the disappearing act is really getting more than a bit silly. Unless somebody happens to write an ad hominem, like a reference to the butt-ugly army boots on your mama or a reference to the size, shape, color and religion of my genitals, then where does the potential end of civilization enter into it? Seriously. Why does anybody even care to actually reach a lunatic fringe point and separately e-mail you about it? The subject here is the Cleveland Cavaliers, not abortion rights. I mean, even the name itself is preposterous. What alleged adult originally came up with the word "blog" and decided it should be made a permanent part of the English lexicon in the first place? If your diary is a blog, then any commentary in your blog is a "boink."

I wonder if this boink will last more than five minutes.

I made an error in the sentence above. She's keeping the Schmitt, not the Boyer. Well, either way, it should be simply Finnan. That is not in dispute. The ridiculous three names in a name should be history, the maiden name should be buried in a landfill as required by the marriage pact, and Dad makes an excellent point when he says Mom requires "discipline." I'm not precisely sure what Dad means by that, but I'm sure he knows what he's doing.

I want to know more about this purported son of Bob Finnan and Mary Schmitt Finnan thing. Frankly, I have my doubts. Other than sharing Dad's trademark hairy back and webbed feet, I don't the resemblance. And assuming you are indeed telling the God's honest truth, then tell Mom to just pick a name, and stick with it. She can't have it both ways. What's wrong with simply going by Mary Finnan? It's a good wholesome name. What, like it's gonna kill her? She really needs to scream out to the world and make an emphatic point that Bob doesn't own her by also keeping the "Boyer?" Damn women's libbers. Now I see why Dad always seems so pissed.
