Nuggets from Edwards' big day

October 7, 2009

Just-traded Browns receiver Braylon Edwards should love the reception he got from the Jets — at least from their web site. Streaming across the top of the web page for most of the day was his picture with the headline, "Braylon Edwards. Get your No. 17 jersey. New York's newest Jet."
Jets coach Rex Ryan didn't [...]

SI's King has plenty to say about Browns

August 10, 2009

Sports Illustrated senior writer Peter King was in attendance at the Brown-White scrimmage on Sunday and had a few thoughts in this week's Monday Morning Quarterback.
He's not too impressed.
The Browns, however, were the first team I've been around this summer that I just didn't get a good vibe from. The players are still feeling out [...]

Should Sundquist get the GM job he wants?

January 16, 2009

If the Browns wait to hire Ravens director of pro personnel George Kokinis as general manager until Baltimore is done in the playoffs, that could be until after the Super Bowl.
That would mean the Browns wouldn't have a general manager present at the Senior Bowl practices, which begin on Jan. 18. And for a team [...]

January 2, 2009

When we put up a poll asking you to pick a new head coach and general manager for the Browns, the expectation was a few hundred votes.
After all, the Browns have been mostly putrid since returning to Cleveland in 1999, leaving many fans jaded and, possibly, disinterested.
Then, the fans kept voting. And voting. And voting [...]

Switching fandom 101

November 11, 2008

So, you're sick of being a Browns fan. You watch the team not live up to expectations. Sitting in the snow sucks. Reading about how players quit on the team is a drag.
Because you're a paying fan, you let your voice be heard (albeit mostly anonymously). Phil Savage should be fired. Romeo Crennel should be [...]
