Browns return specialist Josh Cribbs turned his Twitter following into help for Haiti on Sunday.
Cribbs announced early in the day on Sunday that for every follower of his postings by midnight he would donate $1. By the end of the day, Cribbs said he ended up donating more than $17,000.
He also said he would donate the check he'll receive for being selected to the Pro Bowl.
Cribbs wrote that he got the idea from suspended Browns wide receiver Donte Stallworth. By midnight, Stallworth reached 34,200 followers. His amount was matched by New England Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker for a combined $68,400.
The money from Cribbs, Stallworth and Welker will be donated to Project Mediashare, an organization started in 1994 to help health care in Haiti.
Stallworth should give 1 years salary
Pro Bowl? Which jersey will he wear? Surely he wouldn't humble himself to wear a CLEVELAND BROWNS jersey !!!!!
That just goes 2 show U what kind of a Good Hearted Man that Josh Cribbs really is at Heart. He's an exceptional Man at Heart ??
Stallworth has 34,200 followers on Twitter? How is that possible.
All donors supporting nonprofit, tax exempt, organizations and Churches scam Fathers disqualified for affirmative action with white skin, Union workers, consumers, taxpayers, and Americas grandchildren’s children. Uncle Fred, go screw yourself, quit cracking on the Browns, go back to West Virginia with the rest of Steeler Nation where you belong.
I mean thats nice and all.. But I'm sick of hearing about Josh and his money. Unfortunately when I read this, I thought I wonder what percentage of his income is this and if he can argue ( read:cry) about not getting enough of a raise with what the Browns offered him how can he justify this? I mean, he is hurting for cash, right?… Whatever call it sour grapes but I think this good deed is tainted somewhat by the latest contractual crapfest he is putting out in the media. I think at this point Josh ought to keep all his money business, weather its about money coming in or going out, to himself.. I am a Josh Cribbs fan, by the way, and a lifelong Browns Fan..
I agree with Sean – his agent keeps saying how can Josh live on what he makes – yet he's doing this. Which is great – Josh is a great player and individual I just wish he would of handled all of this differently.
