In his first game with the New York Jets, former Browns wide receiver Braylon Edwards was a big factor.
Against Miami last night, Edwards had five receptions for 64 yards and a touchdown. While the Jets lost 31-27, several of Edwards' catches were difficult grabs. On a 34-yard completion from quarterback Mark Sanchez, Edwards tippy-toed down the sideline on a spectacular catch setting up a one-yard touchdown run.
"Braylon was lights out," Sanchez told reporters after the game. "I've never seen anybody catch the ball like that."
Unfortunately for the Browns and their fans, they never really did either.
The Browns traded Edwards to the Jets last Wednesday for wide receiver Chansi Stuckey, linebacker Jason Trusnik and two draft picks.
The Browns drafted Edwards third overall in the 2005 NFL Draft. In 62 games with the Browns, Edwards had 238 receptions for 3,697 yards and 28 touchdowns. Edwards was named to the Pro Bowl in 2007.
He drew the ire of Browns fans after leading the league in dropped passes in 2008 and saying the Ohio fans didn't like him because he played college for Michigan.
Edwards also allegedly punched a friend of Cavaliers star LeBron James early in the morning of Oct. 5 at a Cleveland nightclub. The incident is still under investigation by the Cleveland police department and the NFL.
Braylon could usually catch the difficult ones but if the ball was on the numbers it was a sure drop.

Who's the loser? The Browns. Amazing that the shills and homers still persist in trying to spin that fiasco in favor of the Browns.
the browns fluke their way to a win over an equally crappy team and all is well? This team will be lucky to win 4 games this year, several blowouts are looming on the horizon. Hopefully Edwards will become one of the top receivers in the league now that he is on a real NFL team. There is nothing better than bad browns teams and the controversy that surrounds them.
