Marla, as someone who left the Akron area 7 years ago and spent a 30 years in the sports world I always felt like a Browns fan in the good and bad. They were fun to watch and keep you on the seat of your pants! My summer home is now on Lake Michigan about 8o miles across the lake is Green Bay. I was able to pickup some of the coverage af last weeks (shall I say a game).
The main joke of the local news cast was that the Packers would have got a better workout against some of the local high school teams(HA,HA). I can only say amen.
I see no hope for this team and owner and for the people of Northern Ohio maybe you should just not go to another game this year! Maybe the NFL would get the hint (empty seats everywere) and force the team to be sold. A Browns fan no more. HOW SAD!

I read Randy Lerner's e mail. This team has never had any identity since they came back in 99. Hiring crennel was a big mistake four years ago. The 4-3 dfense we had then wasn't that bad . They just had to play 3 quaters of every game because the "offense?" was terrible . but he had to change this and fix the offense at the same time . We draft Brady Quinn when we had many more urgent needs. Tell Randy that the only way to biuld a football team is in the trenches then you add the final pieces to the puzzle. Last year we trade for Corey Williams an outstanding D E in a 4-3 defense and try to make himfit in a 3-4. Not avery smart move. Draft immature prima donas like Braylon Edwards And Kellen Winslow and you have a catastophe. Build strong offensive and defensive lines Now , then add the other pieces. Pittsbrgs O line is so stong that they can put amonkey at QB and running back and be successful. Until the Browns do this we will nfver have awinner. Now we hire Mangini who also wants to run a3-4 defense when we don't have the right LBs for this. So now we are back to where we were four years ago.
