Derek Anderson to start Sunday against Cincinnati

Browns first-year head coach Eric Mangini announced at his Wednesday morning press conference that Derek Anderson will start over Brady Quinn Sunday against division-foe Cincinnati.

Mangini said that he doesn't think the Browns struggling offense is all Quinn's fault, but he feels that Anderson gives the offense a better shot at scoring right now.

Maybe they should've thought about SCORING a little more in earlier decision-making and preparations. You know, a QB who will throw downfield, receivers who can run routes and catch the ball, running backs who can break loose and gain yardage, some creative play-calling…

Seems Mangini has just been obsessed with rules, regulations, fines, "discipline," and other issues not really related to PLAY ON THE FIELD. He brought in his own guys, half of the new roster. Where are the results?

Please, Lerner, take the headset away from your Bulbous Ball Boy and hire a coach who can relate to people.

this has nothing to do with Quinn but with a coach that killed any value in preseason by playing mind games with his quarterbacks. He is bringing the franchise to a new low, after having done the same in NY. Fire him, he is like a cancer…you let it spread, it is too late. You will see that no one will jump to hire him. 8 weeks to pick a quarterback, 2.5 games to realize…biggest decision and I screwed up. sorry pal, you're out.

    the stadium won't see me.
the team has quit on you

Well , I think its time Lerner SOLD the team. Obviously he knows nothing about Football.

Sell the team to someone who can run a NFL organization and hire coaches that have
    a good NFL record.

When the fans say they are done, they mean it. I am starting a campaign to join a club that knows how to play on Sundays. Steelers anybody…..we are ready to make the switch!!

I would like to see them perfect the 3rd down and 8, pass for 3 yards and hope our guy can run the other 5 before getting tackled. Oh that's right Derek cannot throw a 3 yard pass. Why don't they put in Cribbs and run the Wildcat all day long. By doing this the offensive play calling will be a lot easier on the coaching staff.
When I read that Derek is starting, I just gave my tickets away to a Bengals fan. At least they will get to see a win.
Wait til next year!!!!!! Maybe we can rebuild

    i am a browns fan from canada….and i am done….thanks for the history….

  7. Mitch says:

It's now come to the point where Browns fans are rooting for the team to lose and score zero. That may be the only way Mr. Lerner wakes up and realizes what a horrendous choice he made. I kid you not, I do NOT want to see this team win. It's far more entertaining to watch Mangie and his robots get blown away and ridiculed nationally week after week.
