in Cleveland Browns, Linebackers

From AP:

BEREA: The Cleveland Browns have released linebacker Bo Ruud.

Ruud, released Monday, was claimed off waivers from the New England Patriots in April. He was a sixth-round pick by New England out of Nebraska in 2008, but missed all of last season recovering from a knee injury.

Ruud started 46 games in college for the Cornhuskers, earning first-team All-Big 12 honors as a junior in 2006.

After watching that game sat. night ,a few starters are going to lose their jobs as well.

I was really hoping DA's 0-2 with a pick would have been the end of his Browns career.

Who cares?? Doesn't sound as if he did much anyway?? I was thinking at first that it was Dwayne Ruud. And if that was so, at least we wouldn't be losing the home opener because he threw his helmet on the last play of the game.

Are the Browns that BAD ? Good grief. At least score some points in an exhibition game.

The Browns were 0-4 last preseason, before going 4-12, with Derek Anderson at the control. That's not to even mention his 2nd half of 2007 collapse and choke, which cost the Browns a playoff spot.

So, folks, with all of those horrific stats, on top of his penchant for regular interceptions and 0.00 QB rating the other night…please explain to me why this guy should even the in the CONVERSATION about being a starting QB for the worst team in pro football? Isn't the goal to put BETTER players on the field so we don't repeat what's happened the past year-and-a-half?

These D.A. "supporters" must be watchin' a whole different ballgame.

@ jonah,
I truely believe Mangini is only giving DA a chance is out of respect that he was the starter knowing full well he will not be able to beat out Quinn ( just like he couldn't beat out Frye ) for the starting position .

After the 3rd week he will sit him down and set him straight.
