Browns to work out Texas defensive end Orakpo

Members of the Browns will travel to Austin, Tex. on March 16 to work out defensive end Brian Orakpo.

As far as we can tell, this is the first prospect the Browns will observe outside of the Senior Bowl and NFL Scouting Combine. Southern California linebacker Clay Matthews III said he will come to Cleveland for a work out, but didn't specify when.

Orakpo is an intriguing player for the Browns. He had a good senior season with 11.5 sacks and 40 tackles, but was inconsistent the rest of his career.

I'd rather have Everette Brown 21.5 TFL and 13.5 sacks. That's 35 plays behind the line of scrimmage. He also dropped into coverage and had to play in space.Go on you tube type his name and then high lights. It's over 9 minutes long.He can rush up field or inside and he also has a great spin move.Orakpo is just a bull rusher and has struggled with injuries. It's still 7 weeks away I'm sure we'll hear several names of players the Browns workout.

He was pretty quiet against OSU.Alex Boone must have been fartin up a storm.

He had a sack on maybe the biggest play of the game against Boone when OSU was trying to get in position for a game-tying FG. Don't kid yourself, Brown is decent, but he is NO Orakpo!
