- What I'm saying today: Really, who didn't expect this to happen? When someone complains to you about being a pessimistic Cleveland sports fan, point to this game. As good as their record may be, the Redskins are a beatable team for the Browns. Apparently, Derek Anderson, Braylon Edwards and the run defense couldn't figure that out.
Just forget what happened in the fourth quarter. This was embarrassing. Anderson does not look like a starting quarterback. Edwards needs a serious ego (and hand) check. The run defense is just atrocious. Perhaps Kamerion Wimbley should only be in the game during pass rush situations because he's a serious liability against the run.
More on this game to come. Maybe from me, maybe from Luke. Kudos to Leon Williams for a good game and Kellen Winslow for just getting out there.
Oh, before I forget, Romeo Crennel needs to go. It doesn't matter when, this team isn't making the playoffs.
Yeah, it's freakin' hilarious how, after one big win against the Giants, all the D.A. fans come out of the woodwork, saying "See, there's no QB controversy! D.A.'s our guy! He's the man! He's back!" If ever there were a poster-child for CHOKING and INCONSISTENCY, Derek Anderson is your man, folks!
Can we please, please end this charade of thinking D.A. has some suddenly-golden boy talents, and at least SEE what Brady Quinn will bring to the table? I mean, we've now given D.A. a full 15-1/2 games last year, plus a pitiful Pro Bowl performance, plus an 0-4 preseason, plus six games this season (in which he has played well in, what….5 quarters?). Don't ya think Brady will deserve a very long leash/rope in order to give him the same type of evaluation? What in the world had D.A. ever done to deserve such status and assured playing-time?? Pray, tell me? Does he have naked pics of Romeo or something?
It always seemed to me like the people who wanted Anderson out were just the kind of people who always champion the backup or were just Quinn lovers. To me, it's just become a situation where Anderson is just playing so poorly. If he gets off to a bad start, he doesn't seem to have the mental fortitude to turn it around himself.
Last week he started good, he ended good. Sunday, he started poorly and ended average.
