I just saw on the news where Obama thinks high gas prices is a good idea.

That's not entirely true. He responded that gas prices have been the first thing to truly change driving habits since the 1970s. He has spoken about the impact of high fuel prices on middle-class families on multiple occasions. He proposed middle-class tax cuts to help them pay for increased fuel costs.
Obama is right to say that high fuel prices have had some positive effects, though. Driving is down, which means fewer CO2 emissions.

He also wants to see an increase in prices at the grocery store.

And the higher the price of gas gets, the more jobs that will be lost, resulting in even less driving.
It's a win-win.
