I find you to be a sick person. The fact that you can sit there and draw a picture making a joke about the racism going on in Jena is horrible. The day after many Americans took a stand aganist this, you draw a picture about it. I mean maybe i am taking this picture wrong but i found it offensive as an American, that we have to make jokes about other people suffering. A picture like this does nothing but set us back. How are we going to combat racism if our own newspapers makes joke about it
Thank you for you time.
Sincerly, Christina Miller

The hanging ropes never should have been put in the tree by the white student. However, that does not justify 6 blacks beating the white. That beating, by law, requires action by the courts.
And I would say the same thing if the colors were reversed.

But the colors were reversed and the white kids who beat a black were given 3 days suspension. That was what started the whole mess.

Those white kids probably didn't see the nooses as a serious threat to the black kids, but the black kids very well might have. Some of them may have had grandparents or great grandparents who were literally strung up.

Hey Christina…I like jokes about racism. I think they're hilarious. Lighten up babe. It's satire!

Racisim is still part of American socieity. Nevertheless, we are the generation in which God has blessed to overcome such obstacles. Maybe, the people in Jena should teach their children the importance of respecting other races, and/or stop forcing their own bias beliefs on their children. Today, black and white children are coming together and we will stand against the wiles of the devil. Let the newspaper continue to publish what it may, as time will prevail when the heading will be "Overcoming Ignorance."
