This cartoon had been sitting in my pile of rough sketches for a week or so. When the Countrywide meltdown hit the news I decided to put the name on the falling guy's briefcase because it was topical.

Now I'm changing Countrywide to Hedge Fund because it shows an event in one part of financial system having a sudden and unexpected effect in other parts of the sytem.

Also, it fits better.

Rove says Bush has encouraged him to write a book. Publishers give Rove raves but don't think he'll get a Clintonesque advance. "The question is whether he'll write a candid, forthcoming, interesting book", according to the Washington Post. Democratic inquisitors hoping to trip him up Libby style may have to settle for written answers.
