The Shia Gov'ts major supporters include death squads linked to a popular cleric who also is very unhappy with the U.S. occupation. The Gov't that we installed has major links to both death squads and to Iran, and it looks like now after invading to depose the Sunnis who controlled the Gov't, now we are looked to as protectors of the Sunnis from the Gov't linked death squads. And who controls the oil is a major factor in all of this, between the main 3 warring factions, Sunni, Shia, Kurd, along with the U.S. Its well documented that the U.S. occupation has involved huge amounts of corruption in contracts and dealing with the oil and other problems, such as the corruption documented related to Haliburton unbid contracts. I find the reference to Monty Python’s Holy Grail to be most humorous and appropriate. It doesn’t end here. Who can forget the coliseum scene in “Life of Brian” when Brian joins the Peoples Front of Judea (not to be confused with the Judean Peoples Front or the Judean Popular Peoples Front)? Every time another Islamic extremist group claims responsibility for another terrorist act I flash back to that scene. Have to find some humor where you can these days.
