Ohio Republican Congressman Bob Ney has agreed to admit to federal corruption charges. He has not agreed to resign his Congressional seat. Jim Traficant, the last congressman to pull this stunt, had his seat pulled from under him.

How on earth can Bok drag Traficant through the mud without even mentioning a hint of the Tea Pot Dome scandal?
Typical!
You must be joking. Drag Traficant through the mud? Like he's unjustly maligned?
He's Old School and it's refreshing.
Speaking of redistricting, Iraq now gets an ever bigger chunk of your tax dollar.
WASHINGTON — A new congressional analysis shows the Iraq war is now costing taxpayers almost $2 billion a week — nearly twice as much as in the first year of the conflict three years ago and 20 percent more than last year — as the Pentagon spends more on establishing regional bases to support the extended deployment and scrambles to fix or replace equipment damaged in combat.
It's probably time to stop thinking of Iraq as an "extended deployment." We're there for good and I believe that's been the plan all along.
When you say "that's been the plan all along", how should we interperate that statement?
I think that, before we invaded Iraq, the administration and some members of Congress realized that if it's possible to change the political climate in the Middle East, would take generations.
I think the plan all along was probably to build huge military installations there (like we had in the Phillippines until fairly recently) and stay for good.
So Cheney and Rumsfeld were lying when they said the whole operation would take 6-12 months ?
I'd bet they believed the actual "war" would be that long but never thought they'd bring troops home in 6 months. That's just ridiculous and was then too.
What's the difference between war, and (actual) "war" ?
It's pretty obvious what I meant when I put the word in quotes, Spartacus. I'm not arguing that what's going on there now isn't "war."
Is it a civil war?
You tell me, Spartacus, as you seem to be driving at something.
Larry won't take the cheese but he's still stuck in the maze.
