Neanderthals, too close for comfort?

Neanderthal remnants from a cave on the southern coast of Spain are believed to be 24-28,000 years old.  That places the cavemen 2,000 years or so closer to us than previously believed.

The Los Angeles Times says Neanderthals,

"…appeared more than 200,000 years ago. They died out after anatomically
modern humans arrived in Europe 35,000 to 40,000 years ago."

It is believed the anatomically correct humans introduced global warming so as to wipe out the  Neanderthals and go shopping at Wall-Mart.
