Christopher Hitchens, on Slate, has the low down on Mel's melt down.

"his twistedly homoerotic spank-movie The Passion of the Christ"

Only Hitchens could float out a line like this and not get stoned by

an angry mob on his way to the corner pub.

If I had said this, the vein on Sam's forehead would have looked like a possessed nightcrawler.

"If I had said this, the vein on Sam's forehead would have looked like a possessed nightcrawler."

Wrong. There goes your meagalomania again.

It didn't take too long ro learn to just ignore your nonsense.

  3. mencken Says:

Great job of ignoring it Sam.

  4. Sam Says:

I did not post in this cartoon and yet you elected to take a shot a me. Therefore I responded. Why don't you try just posting your opinions and not make reference to the other posters.

  5. Mick Says:

I have to agree. Theres no call for initiating a post by taking a shot at a commenter. Why the deliberate trolling?

  6. mencken Says:

Why the deliberate trolling ? Because otherwise this blog would

be bereft of any comments other than " good one" or "way to

go Chip". I've told Chip several times that I'll bow out if he so

requested. I'm still here. Draw your own conclusions.

Sam, I believe you've called me a "maniac" and "sick and twisted"…. Follow your own advice. I don't recall calling

    you names.

  7. Sam Says:

No I did not call you a maniac. I called you a megalomaniac which specifically refers to a huge ego. Whatever, hopefully you will refrain from referring to me in your future posts.

  8. mencken Says:

Sam, you have a picnic in a ballpark, you get hit with the ball.

  9. Mick Says:

Ones position on an issue can be stated without the auto-snark button on.

If its your intention to convince others that your way of thinking is correct/better/whatever, being bitter and nasty to other commenters is a quick turn-off. Not just to the ones you're attacking but to all readers.

On the other hand, if you're looking for drama just for the sake of drama and attention, I guess that's your perogative.

I dont think its really important enough for Chip to care.

  10. mencken Says:

    Thank you Father Mick.

    Here we go again.

Chip makes a good living sticking his ink-stained finger in people's eyes. I do the same thing here for considerably

less compensation. Correct me if I'm wrong Mick, but I thought

my exchanges with you were pointed but civil. Sam got off on the wrong foot by clipping SOMEONE ELSE"S horribly written and moronic post from another site; which quite frankly is the first time I've ever seen anybody stoop that low on this site. Surprise, surprise… I called him on it.

I checked on my previous posts, and although I've poked Sam in the ribs a couple of times for just sending links, I've never called him a name. It's a little tough having a dialogue with a link. All I'm really pressing Sam to do is speak his own mind.

And pardon me while I let my inner-meglomanical side out here, but when I don't post, attendence tends to drop off precipitiously.

    Anything else ?

  11. Mick Says:

Nope. You've pretty much confirmed what I suspected.

  12. mencken Says:

You know guys, there's always eHarmony.com.

They ask you about your political slant up front so that you never have deal with people that aren't possible soulmates.

  13. Mick Says:

    I know! Isn't it great?
