Da Vinci Code
Posted May 20th, 2006 by Chip Bok
The film, The Da Vinci Code opened to poor reviews. Sixty million people bought the book. Is it possible more people actually read the book than will see the movie? Must be a conspiracy.
Update: Never mind. It turns out the movie's a hit. It raked in $224 mil worldwide over the weekend. Must be the one world conspiracy.

Wow, this blog misses Auggie and I hope Mencken's all right. I checked all the local hospitals but nobody knows of any recent admissions under the names Mencken, Wordsmith or The Mannequin.
It looks like people are going to see the movie. How were the reviews on the book? I've heard it's not all that artistically satisfying either. I guess it doesn't matter in a country that watches American Idol so closely.

Damn you Larry. I was waiting to see how many goose eggs Bok could ring up before someone commented, and now you've gone and spoiled it.
It's a good thing Chip's paycheck doesn't depend on the 7 people that read this blog.
Bluster my butt. More like a whisper.

At least you're okay!
I thought surely Bok's wife or neighbors would comment at some point.

I was meditating and fasting for days about whether or not I was being an insufferable bully. But alas, no epiphany.
It was revealed to me however that Jesus didn't speak English and that if he's coming back to the U.S.of A., he'd better learn some or he'll likely be sent back to Chihuahua in a bus with the windows
painted black.
That'd be a tough spin for Tony Snow.

Some of us don't feel the need to join in. But I do miss Auggie. I like seeing the links to whatever article inspired the cartoons. If I don't get a cartoon, I'm usually behind in my news. I liked Clippy.

Sue, Chip is at a disadvantage because the paper he works for doesn't actually run much news. Chips cartoons would be easier to "get" if they were about housebreaking puppies, cheesecake recipes, LeBron's fingernails, or the latest reason Terry Pluto feels unworthy of getting into heaven.
If you were getting your news from Auggie…… well I'll be nice for once.
