if you are Muslim in Afghanistan don't plan on any big life changes.
A man there wants to convert to Christianity and the court says that under Sharia he will be executed. What is it with these people? The man wants to change religions. Free people do it all the time.
I'm told Islam is tolerant. First cartoons now this. What's up?

Here we go again. This story will play out exactly the same as so many others in this absurd Islamic soap opera. The murderous lunatics who call themselves clerics will go bat-shit crazy when the Afghan government, bowing to worldwide outrage and honoring their recently established constitution, refuses to prosecute the Christian convert. He will have to get lost (probably to a western country) since these nuts have vowed to incite the people to “tear him to pieces”. Riots will break out with the obligatory flag burnings, hangings in effigy, and trashing of shops and stuff. These riots won’t be confined to Afghanistan of course since Muslims in other countries, encouraged by their own malicious clerics, will be incensed that a great insult has once again been heaped on their religion. We all know what an understanding bunch they are, especially when it comes to this pesky freedom issue. Meanwhile the peaceful majority of Muslims, which some insist exists, will maintain their silence. After a while the uproar will die down and we’ll all wait for some other issue to flip them out all over again.

In the same vein that I ask you to try to avoid using a lot of profanity in your comments, please don't post "The Lost Verses of the Koran" which is the same as using a lot of profanity but not nearly as elegant.

I'm pretty sure most folks in Afghanistan are OK with beheading Xtian converts.
I'm also pretty sure there are a lot people in the USA that wouldn't mind knocking off some Muslims for general purposes.
