I understand that political cartoons are not out to be as fair and high-minded as possible in the effort to make their point, however…
Nobody thinks its a bad thing for al-Qaeda's communications to be monitored. The problem is the process that Bush circumvented (FISA) was a way of guaranteeing that al-Qaeda was being monitored, not some Quaker pacifist group. Bush could have gotten every legitimate warrant and every piece of intelligence he wanted if he had just stayed within FISA.
