The Ohio Supreme Court ruled unanimously in favor of the grandparents in a child visitation rights case. The grandparents raised the child after the child's mother (their daughter) died of cancer. Eventually the father showed up and wanted the kid back. Janet Reno then sent in federal agents to snatch the child. Oh wait, wrong cartoon. If you want to read the story click here.
I drew this cartoon mainly because it gave me a chance to draw a lawyer and a wolf. I also wanted to draw canine dentures in a glass. Can you find the lawyer?

You mean the lawyer is NOT a wolf? Then I don't get it!
It is sad that Elian's media circus wasn't enough to teach people that allowing the court to take a child away from their parent's custody is wrong.
In the Ohio case cited, the father allowed the child to stay with the grandparents until he could get legal custody. When he finally jumped through all of the hoops, the grandparents changed their mind and decided that they really didn't want to let him father have his child after all. Shame on those grandparents for their selfishness. And shame on you for making it sound like this was a deadbeat Dad trying to do something that wasn't in the child's best interest.
That case was a travesty. The OH courts have in the past, and continue to trample on the rights of parents to choose what is best for their children.
There is quite alot more to that story than the "artist", who obviously is biased, depicts.
OH parents have no rights to their children and the USSC case Troxel v Granville is compeletly ignored by OH courts.
