Look at your sources. Exxon. Glenn Beck.

It isn't the technologies. It's the amount of oil under the ground. Geologists have new technology too....they say there isn't very much oil in North America. Not even close to making a difference.

One more thing...

Oil is a monopolistic commodity. Prices are fixed by futures traders. There is no competition....none. Normal supply and demand expectations do not apply to a monopolistic commodity. That's why we witnessed prices going up WHILE demand was going down.

Two reasons why oil prices have come down recently. Profit taking by traders anticipating they had driven the prices too high and the realization sinking in that Democrats are going to control Washington.

I've seen this same movie in the late 70's early 80's. The only way out of the situation is conservation and alternate sources of energy. I have no problem with oil companies drilling offshore and even in ANWR....but it won't make a dimes worth of difference.

Appreciate the time you took to voice your well-stated opinions.

Michelle is a highly educated and talented woman. Todd races snow machines.

And the media simply couldn't propose the question of Clinton's hijacking the Convention...enough times. I'd guess at least a hundred times just between the moronic David Gregory and the sissy Chris Matthews.

These Media Morons love the spectacle...they could care less about the country....why would they?....They're all rich.

I'll let you in on a secret....I could count the times I've been proud of America on one hand. I love the American people as a collective whole. Always have and still do today.....but the American governmental leadership?.....at best a half dozen times. They rarely do the right thing.

Rev - Apparently that was before Bush decided to lift the ban. Maybe Bush didn't understand the question or understood that the threat of drilling would cause a decline in prices. Maybe he's part of the left wing conspiracy, who knows. He has made some bone head decisions. When he did lift the ban gas dropped almost 60 cents immediately not 3 cents. The ban being lifted and the fact we aren't using as much has caused it to plummet. Here is a question: do our politicians understand supply, demand and prices?

The head of Exxon said it on an interview with Glen Beck and said 18 mos to 2 years tops and we would start seeing oil from off shore. Apparently they have rigs ready and idol off shore. As long as they didn't have to wade through all of the lawsuits made by the environmentalists. They could also see oil from ANWR in 3 years or less. This is through new drilling technologies. This is what I've heard and seen.

Plus I'd rather hear Todd Palin talk about anything as compared to Michelle Obama.

She must be close to getting proud of her country for the second time in her adult life.

I dont think the media said the Clintons would wreck the convention. It was kind of talked about, and hoped for on the right, but I dont think they said it was going to happen.

Ethics violation. Abused her office.

Wooten was disciplined, you admit it.....but you say he should still be fired.

Wouldn't that be cruel and unusual punishment....or is that double jeopardy?

You're messin' with my head, King.

The slogan of drill, baby, drill....is the poster child for winguttery.

George W. Bush's own Energy people, not 30 years ago, just recently, concluded it would be 10-15 years until oil from drilling starting now would reach the market. The same George W. Bush Energy people concluded that after that 10-15 years, when the oil reached the market, it would have a 3 cent reduction impact in a gallon of gas.

George W. Bush's people came up with those conclusions.

"They are successful because of founders and leaders who have the vision and personal presence to change the world. I believe that is Obama's strength. It is the strength that this country needs today."

Reverend, I agree with this post wholeheartedly. The campaign took a definite negative turn with Sarah Palin leading the charge. Before, most Republicans were what I call "Minnesota nice". A friend from St. Paul uses that term to describe folks who put on a nice face and friendly tone to their voice while behind the scenes they scheme and work to disenfranchise others. It is a particularly Midwestern trait; very evident in Ohio.

To me this election is about inclusively; bringing people together for the common good of all. After eight years of divisive politics and policies, this country is in need of a healer. I support Obama for this very reason. Look at today's successful corporations, particularly in the Internet sector. They are successful because of founders and leaders who have the vision and personal presence to change the world. I believe that is Obama's strength. It is the strength that this country needs today. Let’s stop beating people down and instead try to raise them up.

We can not afford four years of oppression by John McCain and Sarah Palin. Why can they not talk about their vision and plans for change? It's because they are not mavericks, but tired politicians disguised to win the election at all costs. No vision = No Change

That Rolling Stone piece is a doozy.

McCain, because he had the audacity to challenge W. in 2000, must now be the sacrifical lamb for all the sins committed during W.s tenure.

The debate tonight has the potential for sparks.....but I just can't see McCain striking the match...but he might.
