It started during the 2008 presidential campaign. Republicans exclusively appealing to the radical-right base. Sarah Palin was front and center leading the effort, spewing nonsensical contradictions, ignorant and mistaken sound bites, and wild-eyed wingnut-pleasing mockery of Democrats, specifically Obama.

After the GOP's crushing defeat in that election cycle, I appealed to Republicans to quit talking, you know, crazy stuff. Quit lying and acting like a bunch of unhinged nuts…..admit conservative and GOP failures…and rebuild their disgraced political party. Simply appealing to a small minority of excitable and angry wingers was not the path back to respectability or trustworthiness.

It's over a year later and….sadly…..Republicans still aren't listening.

Senator Susan Collins (R-ME) last Saturday responding like a crazy person to the Obama administration's handling of the underwear bomber guy….vital part is the first minute….

ABC's Jake Tapper…..

The Bush administration used the criminal justice system to convict more than 300 terrorists, the official noted, adding that accused shoe-bomber Richard Reid was Mirandized within 5 minutes.

It's kind of odd, isn't it, that the most vocal GOP critics of President Obama's method of dealing with "terrorists", don't recognize their own hypocrisy over the GOP Bush having dealt the same exact way with "terrorists?"

Well….it really isn't odd….not really….Instead, it's a strategy. Act like you have amnesia, speak to your audience as if they are morons….like you apparently are, then, blame this Democratic president for the same stuff the previous GOP president did on a routine basis….and try to score some wingnut brownie points by repeating, wrongly, that "terrorists" don't have any rights at all when arrested or detained on U.S. soil.

Cosmo-boy, the Village's new man-crush object, the male Sarah Palin, Scott Brown (R-MA) laid down the rhetorical wingnuttery the night he was elected……

"And let me say this, with respect to those who wish to harm us, I believe that our Constitution and laws exist to protect this nation – they do not grant rights and privileges to enemies in wartime. In dealing with terrorists, our tax dollars should pay for weapons to stop them, not lawyers to defend them."

See?…..Republicans are out of political ammunition. As I like to say….they ain't got nothin'. So, along comes Cosmo-boy…..spouting some stupid and phony sh*t about denying "terrorists" any rights to an attorney, even when they are arrested or detained inside the U.S.

Cosmo-boy wins election……Republicans, out of ammunition, grasp at whatever straws Cosmo-boy had spun into electoral gold up in Massachusetts. Desperate moronic copy-cats. I'm not sure if the brilliant Michael Steele issued a memo, or not….but Susan Collins, obviously without doing any thinking or fact checking….goes ahead and repeats Cosmo-boy's totally incorrect nonsense.

Collins, for all intents and purposes….comes across as a Jean Schmidt-like nut. Remember….Collins is a senator, not some local township trustee. No offense meant towards township trustees…..Collins is supposed to know this stuff.

AG Eric Holder sent Mitch McConnell (R-KY) a multi-page letter pointing out that what he, Susan Collins, and Cosmo-boy Wonder were saying was simply a bunch of made-up winger-baloney…..and then Susan Collins responded…digging herself a deeper hole….

"I remain concerned that there was no consultation with intelligence officials before the Department of Justice unilaterally decided to treat Abdulmutallab as if he were an ordinary criminal."

See the strategy? When stupid wingnut talking point sh*t is called out for what it is…..refuse to acknowledge it…..and then make up some new wingnut stupid-sh*t…..

From Holder's letter…

"…no agency objected to this course of action. In the days following December 25 – including during a meeting with the President and other senior members of his national security team on January 5 – high-level discussions ensued within the Administration in which the possibility of detaining Mr. Abdulmutallab under the law of war was explicitly discussed. No agency supported the use of law of war detention for Abdulmutallab, and no agency has since advised the Department of Justice that an alternative course of action should have been, or should now be, pursued."

Jumping from one base-baiting piece of stupidity to another….Collins said the administration "undoubtedly prevented the collection of valuable intelligence about future terrorist threats to our country."

Also not true….

"It is also my understanding that Mr. Abdulmutallab has provided valuable information. Is that correct?" Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., asked.

"Yes," Mueller replied.

"Thank you," Feinstein said, "and that the interrogation continues despite the fact that he has been Mirandized?"

"Yes," Mueller said again.

Same old stuff, different day.

Once again I would encourage Republicans to quit exclusively baiting their radical-right base. To continue to do so will result in the eventual disintegration of the GOP. Eventually there simply won't be ANY credibility left, except with these dead-enders….

Politico reports on the most recent Research 2000 poll…..

The poll of 2,000 Republicans — sponsored by the liberal website but conducted by independent pollster Research2000 — paints a picture of a Republican base that’s angry, disaffected and acutely hostile to President Barack Obama. Thirty-nine percent of Republicans polled think Obama should be impeached, 36 percent say he wasn’t born in the United States and one in four say they aren’t even sure he’s a U.S. citizen. Another 63 percent labeled the president a “socialist.”

UPDATE:
Just as I posted this, I saw this…..really, now…..it's simply mind-boggling.

And I thought Obama's SOTU address was impressive…

Yesterday, President Obama spoke and answered questions at a House Republican retreat in Baltimore. Entire transcript here. It's going to be a cold weekend…..so stay in and take the time to read the transcript or go here to watch the entire event. It's that good.

President Obama spent a total of 82 minutes talking to and answering questions by some of his most…..I don't know….colorful….GOP House opponents.

How did it go?

As some unnamed GOP spokesperson said afterwards, "we won't be doing that again."

Conservative wingnuts, as I lovingly call them, live in a bubble. Politically speaking. As many know, The Reverend is a veteran of dialoguing with wingnuts. I've learned quite a bit about the species over the many years I've been engaging them. I've been grateful for the experience and have personally benefited greatly. From my experience I've come to learn how to speak fluent wingnut as well as accurately predict wingnut political manuevers before they take place.

Nowhere is the wingnut political bubble on display more than on Fox "News." Wingnut watchers of Fox insist that because Fox draws the largest "news" audiences…..they are the most trustworthy deliverer of "news" and information. What President Obama did yesterday was expose the truth about Fox and it's audience.

Even though Fox, and others, repeat mistakes and lies continuously…even though a few million Americans take in those mistakes and lies on a regular basis….and even though all wingnuts concerned will swear under oath that Fox is as honest as Old Abe…..outside the wingnut bubble, none of it will hold water.

It was interesting to watch GOP House member after GOP House member run off at the mouth using numerous wingnut bubble talking points…before they asked the President a question. I suppose the GOP House wingers thought they were still operating under the Fox protocol, where they can spout off unchallenged and unrebutted winger bubble talking points with relative ease.

Bill-o…this wasn't.

One typical example…

Mike Pence (R-IN)….

"Now, last year, about the time you met with us, unemployment was 7.5 percent in this country. Your administration and your party in Congress told us that we'd have to borrow more than $700 billion to pay for a so-called stimulus bill that was a piecemeal list of projects and boutique tax cuts, all of which we were told had to be passed or unemployment would go to 8 percent, as your administration said.

Well, unemployment is 10 percent now,….

Republicans offered a stimulus bill at the same time. It cost half as much as the Democratic proposal in Congress. And using your economic analyst models, it would have created twice the jobs at half the cost. It essentially was across-the-board tax relief, Mr. President.

…..you've raised this — a tax credit which was last promoted by President Jimmy Carter.

….would you be willing to consider embracing,…. the kind of across-the-board tax relief that Republicans have advocated, that President Kennedy advocated, that President Reagan advocated, and that has always been the means of stimulating broad-based economic growth?"

What Pence was doing was repeating standard issue Fox wingnut bubble talking points. Pence's "question" was actually a rehearsal of a bogus, yet often repeated, narrative which has become all too familiar to Wingnut Bubble Residents.

According to the Fox Bubble Points,….Obama promised 8% unemployment and has failed miserably because unemployment is at 10%. In the Bubble narrative, Obama's "so-called" stimulus and "boutique" tax cuts, strongarmed into law by Democrats, has been a total and corrupt failure…..only making America's dire economic and unemployment situation, worse. Now, as the Fox Bubble Points go, Obama, like "Jimmy Carter", has proposed a tax credit for new hires….but when will Obama join Fathers, Kennedy and Reagan, and propose "across the board", "broad based", "stimulating",….wait for it…."tax relief?"

Obama, who doesn't live in the Fox Bubble, took no prisoners….

"…the hope was that unemployment would remain around 8 — or in the 8 percent range. That was just based on the estimates made by both conservative and liberal economists because at that point not all the data had trickled in.

We had lost 650,000 jobs in December. I'm assuming you're not faulting my policies for that. We had lost, it turns out, 700,000 jobs in January, the month I was sworn in. I'm assuming it wasn't my administration policies that accounted for that. We lost another 650,000 jobs the subsequent month, before any of my policies had gone in to effect. So I'm assuming that wasn't as a consequence of our policies. That doesn't reflect the failure of the Recovery Act."

Mike Pence had to go to a neutral corner after that series of rapid-fire blows…..but the Wingnut Slayer was relentless…

"…we can score political points on the basis of the fact that we underestimated how severe the job losses were going to be, but those job losses took place before any stimulus, whether it was the ones that you guys have proposed or the ones that we proposed, could have ever taken to effect.

Now, that's just the fact, Mike, and I don't think anybody would dispute that. I — you could not find an economist who would dispute that."

On the "so-called" stimulus and those "boutique" tax cuts,…..

"This notion that this was a radical package is just not true. A third of them were tax cuts. And they weren't — when you say they were boutique tax cuts, Mike, 95 percent of working Americans got tax cuts. Small businesses got tax cuts. Large businesses got help in terms of their depreciation schedules.

I mean, it was a pretty conventional list of tax cuts."

The stimulus was, in reality, a moderate-to-conservative action….

"….the component parts of the Recovery Act are consistent with what many of you say are important things to do: rebuilding our infrastructure, tax cuts for families and businesses, and making sure that we were providing states and individuals some support when the roof was caving in."

President Obama finished up with Mike Pence by shredding, embarassingly for Bubble Residents, the idea that Obama had rejected a better GOP economic proposal that would have "produce(d) twice as many jobs"……

"….. the notion that I would somehow resist doing something that cost half as much but would produce twice as many jobs — why would I resist that? I wouldn't. I mean, that's my point, is that — I am not an ideologue. I'm not. It doesn't make sense if somebody could tell me, "You could do this cheaper and get increased results," that I wouldn't say, "Great."

The problem is, I couldn't find credible economists who would back up the claims that you just made."

That's what a wingnut slaying looks like……and that was only one of many slayings Obama carried out yesterday.

Summarizing: Right-Wingers, Fox viewers, Wingnut Bubble Residents…are not used to having their Bubble Points destroyed in front of their eyes, not used to their Faux-Narratives being deconstructed so skillfully and honestly. But that's what happened yesterday….and that's why conservative Republicans won't be volunteering to do it again.

Tomorrow, I will post on the other very important point Obama made about how Wingnut Republicans have "boxed" themselves in.

Above is the face, as doofus-like as it is, of the Great American Tea Bagger, James O'Keefe. Along with foxy-looking Hannah Giles, O'Keefe rose to prominence in WingnutWorld by tricking a couple of ACORN employees into saying potentially damaging stuff on camera. Take a good look ….at the Alfalfa-like face of the boy responsible for getting the U.S Congress and the U.S. President to knee-jerk their knees off defunding ACORN.

Now compare that face with this face….

Don't lie…..you know there's an uncanny resemblance there.

And who could ever forget this great picture of America's newest patriots?

Alfalfa….I mean James O'Keefe….is the goofy-looking person on the left.

The next time we see a picture of James O'Keefe it will be his mug shot….

O'Keefe and three others – including the son of an acting U.S. Attorney, are accused of trying to manipulate the phones in Democratic Sen. Mary Landrieu's office in New Orleans. According to an release from the United States Attorney's Office, witnesses say O'Keefe was in Landrieu's office when two co-conspirators came in "dressed in blue denim pants, a blue work shirt, a light green fluorescent vest, a tool belt and a construction-style hard hat" and pretended to be there to repair the phones. (Here's the affidavit.)

O'Keefe allegedly filmed the men handling the main reception-area phone in the senator's office with a cell-phone camera. The faux-repairmen, who are believed to have been attempting to tap the phones, then asked for access to the telephone closet to work on the main telephone system; asked for identification after being directed there, they said they had left their credentials in their vehicle.

The four men – O'Keefe, the two fake telephone repairman, and another alleged co-conspirator – are now "charged in a criminal complaint with entering federal property under false pretenses for the purpose of committing a felony, announced the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Louisiana." They could face up to ten years in prison and a fine of $250,000.

How far the Republican crooks have fallen since Watergate, huh? Now the GOP-Fox hybrid parasite is recruiting from the cast of "Our Gang." I suppose the days of tough guy dumbasses, like G. Gordon Liddy and Chuck Colson, are over. So sad.

It looks like Bagger James and his Baggettes were trying to sting a U.S. senator, Mary Landrieu (D-LA). The CBS report uses an interesting phrase to describe the caper. O'Keefe and his Bagger Buddies were accused of "trying to manipulate the phones." Sounds like some sexual perversion, you know, at first glance. How in the blazes, exactly, do you "manipulate" a phone? Better yet…..don't tell me….I don't want to know.

The New Watergaters were trying to tap, not "manipulate", the phones in Senator Landrieu's offices. Undoubtedly to try to capture some juicy audio that Fox and Fiends could use, like they did in the totally bogus ACORN "pimp and prostitute" nonsense.

After the phony Pimp and Prostitute gig with ACORN, 31 GOP House members signed on to a Resolution honoring Bagger James O'Keefe for his work in getting ACORN defunded.

One of those GOP buffoons was none other than Ohio's….Crazy Jean Schmidt……

Schmidt is the one on the right.

Fox's Chris Wallace once declared James O'Keefe, "power player of the week."

Fox's Greta Van Sustern, last night…..James O'Keefe "has appeared many times here on Fox News Channel."

Just for, you know, sh*ts and giggles, watch this sober Fox clip from yesterday's "reporting" on O'Keefe's arrest. Notice how the Fox Knee Padder-Reporter sounds so grief-stricken with the news that G. Gordon Liddy's modern Alfalfa-counterpart, O'Keefe, had been busted…and then goes on to say that "we" need more "context."

For those Wingers and Baggers seeking refuge from the storm of embarassment this story brings with it…..there's always the reasonable Michelle Malkin…..

'Know your limits. Know the law. Don’t get carried away. And don’t become what you are targeting.'

What? Don't become a U.S. Senator? I don't think I follow.

I don't think I want to.

Ever see the person dressed up in a gorilla costume standing at an intersection holding a furniture or bedding store sign? Sure you have. Looks kind of stupid, gesturing wildly and so forth, to get drivers' attention. That gorilla is a good representation of today's Republicans.

Each day Republicans don their stupid-looking costumes, so to speak, and go about gesturing wildly and incoherently in attempts to draw attention to themselves. No substance, no ideas, no willingness to play nice with others in order to solve pesky problems……just stupid looking, acting and speaking primates scratching their hineys, throwing feces, making loud and screechy noises, doing anything to get the attention of the Village-media zookeepers, who will always throw the gorillas a bag full of peanuts in prime time coverage rewarding them for their amusing behavior.

Sometimes the amusing, dressed-up-as-gorillas-to-gain-attention Republicans behave so bizarrely, even the Village-media zookeepers get alarmed and turn away. Except for Rachel Maddow.

There are two GOP Senators, Jim DeMint (R-SC), Sam Brownback (R-KS) and at least one Congressional representative, Michelle Bachmann (R-MN) in the following video clip. Demonstrated in the clip is what American leadership will look like if the Sarah Palin-TeaBagger-Talibangelicals ever rise to power in the U.S.

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

Recent polling numbers show that 41% of people polled regard the TeaBaggers approvingly. 41%……yeah, it's hard to believe.

With corporately-compromised Democrats leaving potential Democratic voters despondent because of their refusal to get tough and do the will of the majority of Americans, it is conceivable that the gorilla-costumed Republican Party TeaBaggers could rise to snatch the majority in Congress.

Wouldn't it just be great if the scene in Rachel Maddow's video clip above could be played out every day on the floors of the House and Senate?

Just think of how amusing it would all be.

The 2016 Olympics went to Rio, Brazil……conservatives celebrate America's loss.

Beck: "Oh, it's so sweet" that Chicago's bid failed; "savor this moment."

Breitbart website: "It is kind of like the world community saying to President Obama, 'Not only no, but Hell No.' "

Limbaugh: For those "upset that I sound gleeful — I am. I don't deny it. I'm happy."

Drudge: "The ego has landed. World rejects Obama: Chicago out in first round."

RedState.com's Erickson: "World rejects Barack Obama. … Hahahahaha."

Soon after news broke that the International Olympic Committee had rejected Chicago's bid to host the 2016 Olympics, which President Obama had personally lobbied for, Weekly Standard blogger John McCormack published a celebratory post on the magazine's blog, titled "Chicago Loses! Chicago Loses!." McCormack wrote that "Cheers erupt at WEEKLY STANDARD world headquarters"

Malkin: "Goodbye, 'Yes We Can.' Hello, 'No, You Can't.' "

Honestly, I've never seen anything like this before. Cheering when America loses. Delighting in national defeat.

Take a moment to view the now-confirmed new enemies of America celebrating President Obama's failure to land the 2016 Olympic Games……share with me your feelings at what you see at the 1:20 mark…..

For those who would suggest that it's only the fake-news "entertainers", like the deranged Beck or the drug addict Rush who celebrated in America's loss……go read the Village's Jennifer Loven from the highly respected Associated Press.

Despite Obama's fabled charm and powers of persuasion, his in-person plea for Chicago to host the 2016 Summer Games fell flat. It was a hugely embarrassing defeat. And taxpayers shelled out probably $1 million or more for the president, his wife and others to fly to Copenhagen and back to woo members of the International Olympic Committee.
…..

The defeat could soon be a distant memory, and may never be more than a quixotic-blip trip. But if, for whatever reason, bigger losses start piling up in Obama's corner, his performance in this case could be regarded as emblematic.

That is Village-speak for Beck's, "Oh, it's so sweet."

To make matters worse, the Knee Padded Loven ( I've written about her before) goes on in this morning's article to tell readers that losing out on this very legitimate attempt by an American president lobbying for what surely would be a jobs and income producer for the United States of America during a very stingy recession, "recalls a strain of criticism that has been gaining ground on him."

What "strain of criticism"?

Un-f*cking-believably…."He's trying to do too much at once." " He doesn't have what it takes to close a deal." "He is a celebrity, for sure, but is that always a good thing?…some perceive Obama as arrogantly relying too much on his celebrity status and not enough on the nitty-gritty work of winning votes." "He's too casual with the use of his own time." "He's junior varsity-league, still learning on the job. Will Obama do as poorly predicting how health-care votes are leaning in Congress, and make similarly ill-fated strategic decisions?"

Truly…..this bizarre rendering by wingnuts and Villagers alike is a national WTF moment. We've entered brand new bizarro territory. A media so corrupt and rotted, so challenged by an intelligent and articulate president who doesn't spend most of his time on vacation choking on pretzels while watching footall, or pretending to clear brush in pathetically staged photo-op sessions for the rubes……is now, just like Limbaugh and Beck and the TeaBagging nuts…..celebrating American losses.

As Glenn Greenwald pointed out the other day…..in one f*cking day Obama made more progress with the troubling national leaders of Iran than George W. Bush made in 8 years of "axis-of-evil" threats. But no celebrations by KneePadding KnobPolishers over such monumental feats in U.S.-Iranian relations. Hardly a mention.

About a third of voting America, those who are ardent fans of Bill-o, Sean, Rush, Glenny and the rest of America's modern-day Our Gang Comedy Clowns, have now been born-again into full-fledged enemies of America. Outrageously, these new American enemies have blurred the lines between Obama failing and America failing….and are now rooting openly for both.

It didn't have to be this way.

Those who are now celebrating America's loss, America's defeat, used to screech about wearing lapel flag pins and placing one's hand over one's heart when singing the National Anthem. These same moronically stupid screechers used to raise oh-so-serious questions whether or not a black man with an odd name was "patriotic enough."

Now those same simple-minded, dumbasses are celebrating American defeat.

P.S. If you don't think the conservative rubes are being manipulated, take a look at how our nation's self-declared Enemy-in-Chief, Glenn Beck, produces all those crocodile tears….

".…..after having paid very close attention to what took place between the years of 1992-2000, I think it's safe for me to predict…..if you liked the savaging-Clinton days, you're gonna' just love the savaging-Obama days starting after January 20, 2009."

A media so corrupt, so perverse, that they couldn't even use the word lie or liar in any article they had written or on any teevee appearance for 8 straight years of an openly fraudulent and lying Bush administration…..will….magically…..snap out of the spell they've been under….and begin microscopically examining every word that Obama speaks. A main media so covered-up in their own mistaken, propagandistic, slime encrusted wrongheadedness for 8 straight years, a media who never really ever considered impeachment as worthy of discussion for the worst president America has ever known….will be balls-to-the-wall aggressive in not only savaging a President Obama but encouraging an obstructionistic-minded Republican minority to gum up the federal works with impeachment talk and accusations."

"With the upcoming Obama presidency….Democrats will have near total control. This, in itself, will anger and frustrate the extreme right so badly that (I can't help but say this) actions of violence will follow. I believe that is what we witnessed last week at McCain-Palin gatherings. The first-fruits realization by the extremist nuts on the right that they've lost the game and lost it badly, is beginning to sink in."

Maybe I should change my name to The Prophet.

But wait….there's more.

Less than 9 months into the Obama presidency and just look at what is being suggested by some of the crazy folks at Newsmax…..

There is a remote, although gaining, possibility America's military will intervene as a last resort to resolve the "Obama problem." Don't dismiss it as unrealistic.

America isn't the Third World. If a military coup does occur here it will be civilized. That it has never happened doesn't mean it wont. Describing what may be afoot is not to advocate it.

…..

Will the day come when patriotic general and flag officers sit down with the president, or with those who control him, and work out the national equivalent of a "family intervention," with some form of limited, shared responsibility?

…..

Military intervention is what Obama's exponentially accelerating agenda for "fundamental change" toward a Marxist state is inviting upon America.

After only 9 months of a new Democratic president, radical conservatives are suggesting that America needs a "military intervention" to deal with the "Obama problem."

Newsmax is a primary source for American wingnuts. I am sure that main-whore-media will soon be asking conservative Democrats, and in all seriousness, whether, indeed, the military should intervene to stop President Obama from carrying out his Constitutional duties as president.

It is the job of main-whore-media to investigate and report on the unhinged and insane beliefs of the American wingnuts….as witnessed in the main-whore-media's coverage of Rush Limbaugh's "I want Obama to fail", the TeaBagger incoherent nuttiness, townhall bust-ups complete with semi-automatic weaponry, and most recently, the Beck-ClusterFox 9-12'er event attended by a minimum of one zillion people. (one zillion equaling approximately 60,000.)

No matter how crazy American wingnuts behave, or talk, (like in the cases of Sarah Palin or Joe "You Lie" Wilson), main-whore-media, just like they did during Bill Clinton's days, MUST take it very seriously and dwell on all the "implications" for weeks.

What I'm saying, after having predicted one year ago what we're now experiencing, is that the ugliness will get worse. The craziness, the frenziness, the threats, the intimidation, the witchhunts…..and, eventually, the calls for violence…unfortunately….will only get worse.

America has entered a domestic crisis period.

Maybe you saw David Fluffy Gregory's interview with Bill Clinton this past weekend on Meet the Press. The Village Fluffy, always trying to keep it real, asked Clinton about that "vast right wing conspiracy"…..

Fluffy…."Your wife, famously, talked about the vast right wing conspiracy targeting you. As you look at this opposition on the right to President Obama….is it still there?"

Clinton…."Oh, you bet. Sure it is. It's not as strong as it was because America has changed demographically…but it's as virulent as it was. I mean, they're saying things about him, you know, it's like when they accused me of being a murderer and all that stuff they did. But, it's not really good for the Republicans in the country, what's going on now. They may be hurting President Obama, they can take his numbers down, they can run his opposition up. But fundamentally, he and his team have a positive agenda for America. Their (GOP'ers) agenda seems to be wanting him to fail. And that's not a prescription for a good America……"

In the 1990's, when Newt and his majority Republican gang persuaded Clinton to vote to gut American jobs with NAFTA and further punish the poverty class by "reforming" welfare, the vast right wing conspiracy rewarded Bubba's move to the right by hounding him mercilessly with made-up-sh*t. Then came the impeachment. That was the beginning of the incoherent, unintelligible and mindless Wingnut World that we are so privileged to be burdened with today.

That, and the birth of the 4th Estate's anti-Christ, FOX "News."

But I disagree slightly with Clinton here. The American winger world is MORE virulent today than during the 90's. The automatic weapons-bearing outside presidential townhalls, the 4-fold increase in threats to Obama versus threats to W., the hourly-generated lies and frenzied propaganda by a corrupt and rotted corporate media, the unhinged encouragement to behave badly by main media sponsors of anti-Obama Tea Parties and 9-12 events, the proliferation of Mao, Stalin, Castro, and Hitler signs equating Obama with tyrants……..all of it for the purpose of poisoning Obama's presidency, intimidating Americans and making the wingers feel better about themselves in a nation which has embarassingly rejected their now-dead conservative policies of intolerance, lassez-faire, trickle-down capitalism, and imperialistic wars of choice.

Why is the virulence worse now? Democrats not only have the Presidency now, like they did during the 90's, but also a firm majority in Congress. When political rats are cornered, as it were, they can prove the old adage of being "crazier than sh*thouse rats."

American conservatives say they are sticking to their principles in their virulent opposition to Obama and the Democrats. And that, of course, is the problem. Conservative principles have led directly to today's marginalized and impotent Republican Party,…..regionalized to mainly the southern states. Only 7% of all New Englanders, for example, identify now with the GOP.

Today's conservative "resistance" is more virulent now because the U.S.S Ronald Reagan is slowly sinking into the dark waters of political policy irrelevance. Rather than going through serious self-examination, acknowledging that America has changed, rather than coming up with new ideas for the 21st century……today's GOP, today's conservatives, apparently, would rather hang around their old stomping grounds, the political outhouse……where they can dart out daily, looking and sounding all crazy…..in the hopes of scaring any progressive change away.

The imaginative Steve King (R-IA) says that gay marriage is a "purely socialistic concept."

Have you noticed how conservatives and Republicans see socialistic threats, like, everywhere? Damn odd, if you ask me.

Here's Rep. King in the House explaining how President Barack Obama is the "star of ACORN, the lead, chief organizer."

King is a wild and crazy guy, huh?

_______________

Latest Times/CBS poll….

"Would you favor or oppose the government offering everyone a government administered health insurance plan — something like the Medicare coverage that people 65 and older get — that would compete with private health insurance plans?"

Favor 65%

Oppose 26%

Proving that facts still have a known liberal bias….OR….Americans want more socialism. Anybody want to break the news to Michelle Malkin and Sean Hannity?

Malkin yesterday on President Obama's UN speech….

"He (Obama) doesn't like this country very much." Obama is "the great Appeaser and the Groveler in Chief."

"..he (Obama) has solidified his place as the weakest of weak leaders of modern American history…..They laugh at us. He is a laughingstock."

That must be why, after Obama's appearance at the UN, that Russia is now considering new tougher sanctions on Iran. Russia's President Medvedev must have been laughing so hard over how weak Obama's leadership is that he couldn't help agreeing with America's New Weakling-in-Chief.

Later, Obama presided over the UN Security Council unanimously passing a resolution "that “urges” countries to put conditions on their nuclear exports, so that international inspectors would be authorized to continue monitoring the use of some nuclear materials even if a country withdrew from the nonproliferation pact."

Yep, Michelle and Sean,…..laughingstock.

________________

Next up….George W Bush's former speech writer Michael Gerson. Once again, the AB Journal insisted on printing Gerson's column. Gerson says that internet discourse in America is kind of like the Nazis using radio in the 1930's. Heil, Michael, you assh*le.

One sentence….

"The absolute freedom of the medium paradoxically encourages authoritarian impulses to intimidate and silence others."

As opposed, say, to the "absolute freedom" of Knee Pad Media members, like Gerson, whose neo-conservative "authoritarian impulses to intimidate and silence others"…..we witnessed in the main media's complicity in leading us into a war of The Dick's choosing. Extra smiley face stickers for blaming internet discourse for what his ex-boss did for 8 straight years…."intimidate and silence others"…resulting in 4400 U.S. dead soldiers. But it's the anonymous and dirty f*cking internet bloggers who possess those "authoritarian impulses."

_______________

Little known info….

The Fox Network did not cover President Barack Obama's speech before the joint session of Congress. The Fox cable outlet, I understand, did cover it….but not the broadcast network. It's the first time a major broadcaster, using public airwaves, refused to televise a presidential address before Congress.

So, according to another Beacon blurb from the Dallas Morning News today, President Obama should go on Fox and be interviewed by the blackout boyz.

"…what should concern the president more is that Fox delivers a devoted audience that doesn't always hear from the president unfiltered."

Is it me, or does that sound like a very naive statement? Nothing ever presented on Fox is "unfiltered." My suggestion to Obama? Keep flipping the bird to Fox offers…..they are unworthy to be considered a legitimate media participant.

______________

Just in case you have been confused by the flaming wingnuttery recently over the non-profit group ACORN, Rachel Maddow had an excellent piece on the whole thing last night. And the imaginative one I referred to at the top makes an appearance too. It's worth watching…..but look out for those pesky facts flying….

Finally…..Glenn Greenwald lays out the rotted landscape in the mainstream media and the halls of Washington.

The Villagers have a very ugly habit of chastising and punishing the weak and vulnerable while praising and rewarding the corrupt and the powerful. ACORN is simply the latest example.

The guy in the above picture is Bill Sparkman from Kentucky. He's now dead, having been hanged recently and left to rot in a remote area of Daniel Boone National Forest. That's right, he was hung from a tree and when found had the word "fed" scrawled on his chest.

Bill Sparkman worked part time for the Census, according to the AP article, conducting interviews once or twice a month in Clay County, Kentucky.

Cleveland.com reports…

Gilbert Acciardo, a retired Kentucky state trooper who directs an after-school program at the elementary school where Sparkman was a frequent substitute teacher, said he had warned Sparkman to be careful when he did his Census work.

"I told him on more than one occasion, based on my years in the state police, 'Mr. Sparkman, when you go into those counties, be careful because people are going to perceive you different than they do elsewhere,' " Acciardo said.

"Even though he was with the Census Bureau, sometimes people can view someone with any government agency as 'the government.' I just was afraid that he might meet the wrong character along the way up there," Acciardo said.

A part time federal Census worker in red state Kentucky hung from a tree with the word "fed" scrawled in his chest.

Why it would be necessary for a former state trooper to warn Mr. Sparkman about specific Kentucky counties where "people…perceive" federal workers differently…….is yet to be determined.

I know that back in the 60's many citizens from southern states considered federal workers, especially civil-rights workers, "differently." So differently that some of those civil rights workers were murdered.

Now, it would be easy for me to attribute this heinous act as part and parcel of the larger conservative hate-Obama-government movement. A result of endless conservative gasbag rhetoric over ACORN and the upcoming Census in 2010….or the frenzy of anti-government emotions witnessed in the incoherent TeaBagger and 9-12'er movements.

Perhpas Bill Sparkman's killer embraced the viewpoint of Minnesota's wingnut representative, Michelle Bachmann…..

"The mother lode of all data information will be from the Census. … Unfortunately, the Census data has become very intricate, very personal, a lot of the questions that are asked. I know for my family, the only question we will be answering is how many people are in our home. We won’t be answering any information beyond that, because the Constitution doesn’t require any information beyond that."

Maybe the person, or persons, who hung Bill Sparkman and scrawled the word "fed" in his chest were pre-emptively resisting, like Bachmann suggested she would, the Census. Michelle said that ACORN could be involved with the Census, so, you know, can't take any chances.

Even the lunatic Glenn Beck disagreed with Bachmann over her Census comments.

Make no mistake…..this murder looks like a political assassination, much like the Dr. George Tiller assassination a few months ago by the conservative culture warrior Scott Roeder. If, in the end, that proves to be the case….the hanging of Bill Sparkman, a very nice man who worked as a substitute teacher in Kentucky public schools and part time for the Census, may come to be known as one of the earliest victims in America's new domestic war of the 21st century.

I read a good one from the associate editor of NewsBusters. NewsBusters is a creatively conservative online site usually chock full of fact-free, wingnut postings.

First, a quick review…

You have probably seen a video clip by now of a sting on multiple ACORN offices by Hannah Giles (playing the prostitute) and James O'Keefe (playing the pimp). When the two sting actors finally got an ACORN person to bite on their "we want to buy a house, use it as a brothel for underage El Salvadoran girls, what should we do" nonsense, the video byte was quickly circulated by the right wing propaganda machine as "proof" that ACORN was a criminal enterprise.

No ACORN person has been charged with any crimes, NOTHING has been proven in a court of law….yet, Congress, the knee-jerk spineless assh*les that they are, quickly passed a bill to defund anything ACORN.

We now know that the acting duo tried out their vaudeville sting act in many ACORN offices around the country. So, we know it was a fishing expedition with only one purpose in mind…..get something damaging or potentially damaging to use against ACORN, thus, hurting the voter registration non-profit who primarily registers minority voters, who just so happen to vote overwhelmingly Democratic….AND….damage Obama in the process because he once had dealings back in Chicago with the community organizing group, ACORN.

The objective of the hooker-and-pimp show is clear.

Here's where the wingnut fun begins. Hannah Giles and James O'Keefe didn't find sound byte success in many cities' ACORN offices. ACORN employees called police on the sting duo at a couple of locations where a "gotcha" could not be obtained for Fox's Beck to later get a hard-on on camera about.

In Baltimore, where the young wingnut sting actors were trying, unsuccessfully, to entrap ACORN officials for wingnut-media purposes, a question has come up over whether the duo's taping the sting without permission was illegal.

That question of the illegality of secret videotaping in Maryland, just the question, has tweaked the tinfoil of NewsBusters' bloggers.

Associate editor of NewsBusters, Noel Sheppard…..I'm sure without any sense of irony, had this to say about the potential for Baltimore officials pressing charges against the hooker-and-pimp actors.

"..we now not only have a media unwilling to report the misdeeds of ACORNers, but we also have authorities going after those that dare to uncover such acts.

Honestly — what country is this?"

Though not intended….. that's some funny stuff.

Wingnuts, naturally, wanted every cable and network "news" outlet to run a 24/7 loop of the hooker-and-pimp sting on ACORN. Wingnut media representatives taunted any media outlet who didn't comply with their wingnut wishes to feature the phony sting story.

Wingnuts, like Sheppard and his boss, the goofball Brent Bozell, are the movers of the modern conservative movement, and minorities, while accepted by wingnuts, are rarely part of that movement. Wingnuts believe the work of a primarily black non-profit voter registration and inner-city housing group only benefits the Democratic Party….and it's the fulltime job of wingnuts to diminish any power Democrats have. ACORN, by it's very existence, is a threat to conservative wingnuts.

But back to Noel Sheppard's quote….."we have authorities going after those that dare to uncover such acts."

NewsBusters, when it came to the exposing of the unlawful acts of Bush/Cheney in spying on Americans without warrants, judicial warrants as the Constitution requires, didn't care so much about, you know, journalists uncovering and exposing such acts. In fact, NewsBusters wanted "authorities" to go after those who did the "exposing."

NewsBusters' Sheppard Jan.29, 2005…

If only the Times would follow its own advice and stop betraying the public's trust by continually convicting people in its publication before they’ve been charged with a crime.

Umm…..Amen, Noel.

Sheppard again, June 26, 2006…

[I]t is high time the U.S. government took a stand against the reporting of classified intelligence information by America’s press. Irrespective of the self-serving opinions of Bill Keller and his associates, the public’s interest in safety and national defense is much greater than its desire to know the intricate details of how the government achieves such vital goals.

…..

With that in mind, the Justice Department, led by attorney general Alberto Gonzales, must investigate and decide whether or not to prosecute the Times for its possibly treasonous acts.

I say to NewsBusters' Sheppard, "Honestly, Noel,…what country is this?"

Is ours a country where authorities are encouraged to go after those that dare to uncover such dastardly acts?
_______________

Bonus video: NewsBusters could take a lesson from this video. This is how intended irony is done……
