Right SS is solvent to 2040, then why are they saying that their is a deficit this year, ie fewer payments in compared to payments out.
PS Social Security does not have a "trust fund" the money is "loaned" to the federal government in the form of bonds, bonds that are worthless when the federal government prints money to cover the bonds. The trust fund has been spent, it is gone.

Texas has a privatized retirement system, workers in texas get to retire with 3 or 4 times the amount of money SS pays out.

Maybe it is you who refuse to listen, read, and comprehend the truth.

You say Government can solve the nations problems, just name one problem that government has actually solved? PS Prove it with facts, not your personal lies- opinion

States set some of the rules for Medicaid.

I don't think Texas has opted out of SS…..might want to check that.

SS will be solvent through 2040….that's if nothing is ever done. After 2040, SS will still be able to pay out 75% of benefits…..once again, if nothing is changed.

I fear that you are listening to way too many FOX-related folks. And they don't tell you the truth…I thought you understood that.

NOT the State of TEXAS?

Since Texas has opted out of Social Security, at least Texans can afford to retire, and know that they will be able to collect their money and survive, unlike the rest of us who know that by the time I can retire, SS will be gone, bankrupt, Kaput along with the rest of the government as we know it today. Heil Obama.

Doing the bidding of big pharma, what a fool you be.
You must have missed the payoffs to health insurers and "big pharma" in the health insurance scam bill.

For example, Medicaid is being cut 500 billion and the AARP supports this? Well guess what AARP offers bridge insurance that would "replace" this cut.
Big Pharm, those evil companies that spend billions to develop new drugs, get protection from Canadian imports.

Lastly WHY do we have to spend 1.2 Trillion for a plan that collects taxes for 5 years before it even starts to pay for 5 more years of coverage, 10 yrs of taxes to make this Bullshit revenue neutral? Or Almost 250 Billion a year, when it would only cost 17 billion a year to cover the 8 million or so americans without health insurance who can not AFFORD it. WHY? If it is so important, WHY does it take 5 years to start WHY? Answer me this Blog of Mass Disinformation.
