Tear The House Down

by The Reverend on November 5, 2009

in GOP, media

As it is now, the more extreme portion of the GOP has decided to go after any candidate who smells of moderation or practices the evil art of compromise.

The Palin, FreedomWorks-Dick Armey, crazed conservative media morons, and, of course, the Tea Partiers, themselves, decided that some goddamn nut, Doug Hoffman, should push the more moderate GOP candidate out of a reliable GOP New York district House seat.

Now the seat will be held by a Democrat, Bill Owens. Owens beat Hoffman. It's been over 100 years since that district was held by someone other than a Republican.

That brilliant political strategy is now going to be deployed in California and possibly, Florida. Tea Partiers are going to try to knock the more moderate, Carly Fiorina (Hewlett-Packard), out of contention for next year's challenge to Democratic Senator Barbara Boxer.

In Florida, the same Jim DeMint (R-SC) who is supporting the TeaParty-style candidate, Chuck DeVore, against Fiorina in California….is also supporting a far right candidate for senator in Florida, Marco Rubio…rather than supporting Florida Governor Charlie Crist, a moderate.

To the TeaPartiers out there….how did that purge strategy work for ya' up in New York's 23rd district? Not since the 1870's has a Democrat held the congressional seat of New York's 23rd district…..now a Democrat holds that seat.

Yet, Palin and DeMint and other extremist conservatives are steaming full speed ahead to implement the same TeaParty strategy across the country ahead of next November's midterm elections.

Next year we'll all be TeaPartied to death. Maybe that's the plan.

To what end? With all the manure slinging* about Tuesday's election, the news is that Democrats now have one more seat in the House. In our current health care reform frenzy, Democrats having one more vote in the House is only a good thing, you know, for Democrats.

What I'm saying is that TeaPartiers are wrecking any chances for the GOP to come back to majority-party status. While TeaPartiers are helping Palin and Dick Armey make a bunch of money, which was kinda', you know, the TeaParty plan from the beginning, conservatives are losing their voices of representation.

Republicans need to embrace the Charlie Crists and Carly Fiorinas out there, not reject them. Perceived ideological purity does not often work out pragmatically…..and it's not going to work this time for the TeaPartier brigade. Conservatives must face up to how America actually is, not what they think America should be…….and work out their politics accordingly.

Republicans don't need to move any further to the right…purging out all moderate thinkers……I mean, Jesus.

I don't like Ben Nelson, Blanche Lincoln, Mary Landrieu, Evan Byah (special dislike), and a few others wearing Democratic jerseys….but rejecting them all out of hand does not take into consideration the diversity in the population of our states. For example, Missouri is a more moderate-conservative voting state. Claire McCaskill, Democratic senator from Missouri, votes a bit too conservative for my liking…but she is trying to represent the people in her state.

Republicans, rather than purging along ridgid ideological lines, as the TeaParty-Palin bunch is doing and has promised to continue, should find BETTER candidates….not more wingnutty candidates.

This crash-and-burn of the GOP has been a long time in coming. It's overdue. I think it's fitting that after a very destructive 8 years of Republican governance at the federal level…..Republicans are now, apparently, self-destructing.

* Liz Sidoti from the AP has such a piece of garbage propaganda reprinted in the AB Journal today….it stands out like a sore thumb.

Headline: Elections unsettle moderate Democrats.

Under headline: Results don't bode well for Obama and party.

From the body of the piece of garbage: "Last year, hope and change tilted them toward Democrats. This year, anger and frustration tilted them to Republicans. They broke 2-1 for GOP victors Chris Christie in New Jersey and Bob McDonnell in Virginia."

The AP's Sidoti makes no allowances here for the New York 23rd district win by Democrat, Bill Owens….which gave Democrats more power in the House. Did "anger and frustration" tilt New York's 23rd district voters to pick a Democrat? If not, why not.

But this is extra special…

"Victories in both states have given Republicans a much-needed morale boost. And the wins proved that Republicans can find success if their candidates gravitate toward the middle and are responsive to the voters' mood. That approach allowed the GOP to successfully woo independents."

See, that's the thing Liz….the Palin, DeMint, Armey TeaParty movement have already announced they are working to place radical right candidates up in primaries to purge the GOP of any dreaded moderates.

Morale boost that.

It was necessary to destroy the Republican Party in order to save it.

1.wing nuts,right extremists,crazed conservatives,far right wing crazies, whackos, etc
And why are they called those things ?
2. because they are greedy, ignorant, selfish, racist, nazi, bigots etc.
And why are they those things?

You cant argue with that logic.

I don't mind that the far rightists stand against abortion, gay marriage, and everything else liberals stand up for.

What I object to is the phony narrative. The lies. All the making stuff up that isn't true. You know…birthers and deathers and all the rest. They are wingnuts because they believe, by faith alone, in falsehoods galore. That was the point of the White House talking about FOX.

The base conservative movement is getting all worked up about stuff that isn't even true.

Those who oppose strict regulations of financial institutions are siding with the greedy, yes.

Though most conservatives are not racist. The racists who do vote….vote GOP. Long history.

I know that all the namecalling is juvenile….but as crazy as stuff is currently, I can't not do it.

Poor argument. Progressives are the true bigots and you know it rev, you're just playing. Progressives only use minorities and protected classes to attain their ends. The only minorities that progressives like are those who know their place. Keep up your cussing and hateful talk we know you're just faking rev.

The Reverend November 6, 2009 at 8:53 am

Martin, my buddy…who are in these so-called "protected classes?" The only protected class that I know of are the wealthy and the too big to not bail out classes. Is that who you meant?

larry d. November 6, 2009 at 10:59 am

I think he means the folk you progressives like to ghettoize in federal housing projects. You know, the ones who's family structure needs to be destroyed, those who's self-respect and natural ambition needs to be eradicated.

The Reverend November 6, 2009 at 12:06 pm

Huh?

I'm thinking there's a failure to communicate here. Ya' think it's just me?

Quidpro November 6, 2009 at 9:10 pm

Writing as a former Progressive, Reverand, let me help translate for you. Let's consider some examples.

Progressives like to claim that they speak for those with no "voice", with no power. Unborn children, by definition, have neither voice nor power. They cannot vote. They are not even considered "persons" under US law. Most "progressives", however, side with those in power, those with voice and votes, when it comes to abortion.

Progressives like to support minorities, but only when they know their place. Blacks who remain docile residents of the Liberal Plantation, with all of its family destroying programs, are extolled as authentic. But woe to those who escape! Those who achieve independence are condemned as traitors to their race. After all, if too many escape the programs of the Liberal State, the rationale of those programs is undermined.

I trust this helps.

The Reverend November 7, 2009 at 10:53 am

Sorry Quid….not helpful.

Abortion is still legal in America. The "voice", pre-Roe, which had no power….was a woman's voice. If conservative anti-abortionists want to revoke Roe…then they have every right to do so in accordance with our democratic process.

"family destroying programs" is your characterization. What you are proposing is that blacks continue to vote for Democrats knowing that Democrats are out to destroy black families. Doesn't seem believable to me.

"escape the programs of the Liberal State"….you mean like Medicare, Social Security, Medicaid, etc?

"Those who achieve independence are condemned as traitors to their race." "independence" from what?

Da King November 12, 2009 at 3:18 am

Maybe this will help, Rev.

http://blog.afroconservative.com/2009/10/01/liberal-democrats-destroyed-black-america-who-wants-next.aspx

"While African Americans comprise 13.5 percent of the population, 43 percent of all murder victims in 2007 were African America. Of the 43 percent who were murdered, 93.1 percent were killed by African Americans.

Was it always like this? The answer is Unequivocally: NO.

The disproportionate crime rates, illegitimacy rates, divorce rates, drugs abuse, and disproportionate incarceration rates didn't begin until liberals took over the Black Community in the 60s. Before liberals came and negated the influence of the Black father, over 80 percent of black children in 1960 were born in wedlock. In 1940 the illegitimacy rate amongst Blacks was 19 percent. Today, post the liberals monopoly in the poor urban areas, the illegitimacy rate is over 70 percent and almost 90 percent in the inner city. Surprisingly, between 1890 and 1940 Blacks had a marriage rate slightly higher than Whites. According to Herbert G. Gutman author of "The Black Family in Slavery and Freedom (1750-1925)"– for every 6 children under the age of under the of 6-5 of them lived in two parent households. In Harlem between 1905 and 1925, only 3 percent of all families were headed by a woman under 30. In this same time period, 85 percent of black children lived in two-parent families.

The training ground for any human being begins in the home. The dynamics of the home environment can do two things: it can set the child up for failure or for success. When Patrick Moynihan, a Democrat began seeing the negative trends of entitlement programs regarding the Black Family in the 60s he wrote the "Moynihan Report". In the "Moynihan Report" he predicted that if the Black family continued to disintegrate, then there would be issues of delinquency, crime, disproportional educational outcomes, and other social problems that come when a father isn't active in a child's life.

What did the liberals do with this information? They called Moynihan a racist! They decried that he was "blaming the victim" and that he was against the "strong black woman" and that she could do it all by herself. Well, it wasn't all by her lonesome because the nanny state (LBJ's Great Society) was going to be there to replace daddy. Part of the stipulations for receiving welfare was that the Black father was not able to be present in the home. Therein lies the beginning of the destruction of our families.

Well, on behalf of the Black race, I want to thank all the liberal feminists who screwed up Black America with their entitlement programs and their warped world views. I want to thank the Saul Alinksy's and all the "community organizers" who used the Blacks as pawns to advance their Marxist agenda. The progressives of this day had it all figured out. In order to eradicate the capitalist foundation of this country, they would need to put as many people on the welfare rolls as possible. The progressives didn't care about Blacks before this. They were too busy empathizing with Hitler, Stalin, and Mussolini. Look it up. Moreover, racist Progressives like Margaret Sanger (founder of Planned Parenthood) were too busy pushing their eugenics (i.e. let's kill off as many black people and other "undesirables" as possible).

Do you think Lyndon Baines Johnson and John F Kennedy cared about Blacks in this time? Lyndon Baines Johnson and John F Kennedy didn't even support civil rights legislation until it became politically convenient to do so. Neither supported the Civil Rights Act of 1957 (pushed by REPUBLICANS). In fact, the same president we thank for Great Society, Mr. LBJ said, "President Truman's civil rights program "is a farce and a sham–an effort to set up a police state in the guise of liberty. I am opposed to that program. I have voted against the so-called poll tax repeal bill. . .. I have voted against the so-called anti-lynching bill."

Liberals managed to destroy an institution that survived the most heinous of circumstances."
