When Grayson says the GOP health care plan is "die quickly," and you cite it as the "unvarnished truth," you only discredit yourself.

Let the Dems come forth with an army of Graysons. That'll be the end of them, and you'll be left wondering what happened.

I simply disagree, King.

Those words demonstrate that you have no idea what Democrats and liberals are in dire need of…..unafraid representatives willing to speak the unvarnished truth. Grayson raised the issue of 44,000 Americans dying each year because they lack medical insurance. A fact. Grayson explained that fact while clearly calling out Republicans for their failure to set forward anything of value in the health care reform debate, except their "die quickly" plan.

When Grayson come onto the scene with his "Die Quickly" speech I didn't know anything about him. There is an excellent profile of him from November of 2007 when he was taking on contractor fraud in Iraq. It will tell you a lot about him.

If I were a republican this profile would scare the hell out of me.

It really saddens me to hear you to say you think Grayson is the way the Dems should go. That's just the worst avenue possible, both for the Dem party and for the nation. That's like making dumb the new smart. He's an idiot of the first order, easier than pie to shoot down. He hasn't said a single intelligent thing. Obama is light years above that doofus. Grayson doesn't say ANYTHING like it is. He's pathetic, unless one has a Keith Olbermann (retarded) view of the world.

By endorsing Grayson, you lose your credibility about everything you've ever said about "wingnuts." (not that you ever had all that much credibility in the first place). Too bad.

What's happening is what I've been talking about….Wingnut Wars.

Spot on about Weiner and Grayson. Obama could learn a lesson from those two guys.

But I disagree with King a bit on the 2012 presidential election. In 2004, this silly blogger believed Obama would be president some day. I didn't think it would be so soon….but there was no question, 4 years before he became president, everyone knew he was a force to be reckoned with, a serious player.

The GOP simply does not have anyone, and in 2 years the election cycle will begin. I've been looking….but barring a Petraeus GOP candidacy, and he's got prostate cancer, I don't see anyone.

Grayson's strong rhetoric works both ways. Yes, Republicans will raise money by using his words….but so will Democrats. Grayson just took in donations from 10,000 people…something close to a million. That proves that there's a demand for strong, non-timid Democrats. Democratic voters are simply worn out over the conservative nonsense and want Dems to say it like it is. Saying it clearly and with authority is what Weiner and Grayson are doing. Democratic voters, like me, want Dems to run over the Republicans, if necessary, to accomplish some positive stuff for Americans.

There is a strong possibility that the Tea Party movement will end with a third candidate who drags lots of disenchanted GOP votes away, like what happened with Clinton/Bush/Perot in 1992. A splintered GOP, as we have now (many Tea Partiers, including myself, don't like the GOP, contrary to the phony media reports), could be the biggest plus for the Dems down the road.

This month, Rasmussen has the country at 37.5% Democrat, 32.1% Republican, and 30.3% unaffiliated. The unaffiliated number is growing, as the country is increasingly fed up with both parties. It's the unaffiliated that decide elections. Also, the approval rating for Congress is in the tank, about 21%. The Dems aren't exactly strong, and, contrary to what Jimmy James said, more Dems like Alan Grayson would be GREAT for the Republican party. Grayson's bizarre rhetoric is extremely easy to shoot down, to everyone outside of MSNBC.

As for 2012, I don't see any great GOP candidates either, but this is only 2009. Lots can happen in three years. It's not like anyone thought Obama would be elected President in 2005.

My guess is, if the economy turns around, the Dems will do great. If it continues to stay in the tank, the GOP will do great.

Good luck with that Newt. He will show up on Press The Meat with Fluffy next week and if even asked will deny he said it.

A congressional race in upstate NY that has not gone dem since the civil war has the republicans split in two opening the door for the democratic challenger.

In Florida the GOP has to bus someone in to challenge Alan Grayson after their first three likely candidates declined to run. Grayson is from a conservative district and the conventional wisdom was he's had to keep quiet and be a moderate. He and Anthony Weiner are now showing other democrats what a spine looks like and people like it.

The Tea Baggers have fractured the GOP. A candidate promising to repeal health care sounds like a winning ticket.
