I notice you didn't counter one word I said.

Filegate - Did the FBI records of Clinton's opposition show up in the White House, or not ? YES, they did.

Travelgate - Did Hillary fire the Travel office employees, or not ? YES, she did.

Whitewater - Did a BUNCH of Clinton associates go to jail over Whitewater, or not ? YES, they did.

Rose billing records - Did Rose overbill clients ? YES, they did. Did Hillary say some version of "I dunno" hundreds of times during sworn testimony ? YES, she did.

And finally, Lewinsky. Did Clinton "have sex with that woman" ? YES, he did. Did Clinton lie about it ? YES, he did.

Vast right-wing conspiracy, my butt.

Thanks King, for confirming my post.

And speaking of being self-aware....

"Nor were there any "vast right wing conspiracies" at work with Filegate, Travelgate, Whitewater, Rose Law Firm billing records, or a host of other Clinton corruption problems. The "vast right wing conspiracy" effort, manufactured by the Clintons themselves, was used to distract attention away from the Clintons. That's all that was."

Just think.....King isn't doing some ironic Colbert thing....he's serious. Hard to make stuff like this up.

The first thing I have to point out is how virulent the Reverend is being even as he complains about right-wingers being virulent ("anti-christ Fox News," "incoherent, unintelligible, and mindless Wingnut World," etc). The Rev's lack of self-awareness continues unabated. The Rev could just as easily be speaking of himself with this post.

Second, about the "vast right wing conspiracy" of the 90's (a term coined by Hillary Clinton when asked about her husband's unfaithfulness). I hate to bring up anything so trivial as facts here in Reverend Land, but the charges against Bill Clinton were TRUE. There was no vast right wing conspiracy at work there, just Bill Clinton getting caught with his pants down, literally, and then lying about it under oath. I thought pushing it to the point of impeachment was overkill on the part of the GOP myself, but a conspiracy ? Hardly. Just an opportunity. Nor were there any "vast right wing conspiracies" at work with Filegate, Travelgate, Whitewater, Rose Law Firm billing records, or a host of other Clinton corruption problems. The "vast right wing conspiracy" effort, manufactured by the Clintons themselves, was used to distract attention away from the Clintons. That's all that was.

Third, if the Reverend is really curious as to why Republican politicians oppose Obama, well, DUH, it's because they are Republican politicians. All you have to do to see the exact same thing in reverse is to go back to the Bush administration, where Democrats used all manner of extreme rhetoric to oppose Bush. Nothing has changed except who is in power and who wants to regain power. If the Reverend could ever crawl out of his own tangled head for a few seconds, he would readily recognize that.

StraightOutta.....we'll have to agree to disagree. Liberalism has produced every good thing America has to offer it's people today. From child labor laws to FDIC. From a woman's right to vote to a woman's right to choose. From equal rights for blacks to equal rights for gays. All social progress in America has been as a result of liberals. Yet, you call liberalism extreme.

Historically, Bill Clinton only won 42% of the presidential vote, so he wasn't as readily accepted as Obama was with his 53%. Then came the Newton in 1994 to shut down the government and impeach a popular president.

If, you associate with Democrats who hate liberalism.....you're not really associating with Democrats.

Finally, the reason nobody got this upset in the last 50 years is clear to those who truly know recent history. We've primarily had Republican presidents. For 20 of the past 28 years, the U.S. has had GOP presidents. When we had a Democrat in Clinton, we had a GOP Congress. Before the 80's, Rush Limbaugh was a nobody. Before the 90's, FOX didn't exist.

The conditions today are similar to Lyndon Johnson's days. Democratic president and Democratic Congress. And if, as you say, you know history....you'll remember those years as contentious and violent. Change happened despite the opposition from the right.

Today we have a new mob mentality added to the mix. An undemocratic, anti-American mentality whose essence is to shut-down, stop, or disrupt any normal political process. What we're witnessing is certainly not some new silent majority of centrists or moderates. TeaBaggers and 9-12'ers are not middle-of-the-roaders by any stretch. Instead, they are only tools used by the corporate powers that make up the Republican machine.

It is your right to believe that, angry.....but, naturally, I disagree.

I think you would agree that most of the Obama opponents are libertarian or conservative....so, by definition, they are right wing. The conspiracy part is being run from the top down. Dick Armey, Boehner, Cantor, and DeMint all made an appearance at the 9-12 event. Fox, Beck and Armey organized the event. No grass roots there. Fox, Beck, Limbaugh, Malkin, Drudge, etc. have been leading the conspiracy to bring Obama down. And it all started with the wacky Palin campaign.

Cultural conservatives are being used as pawns in the same way Palin used them as pawns to stairstep herself to fortune.

"Why is the virulence worse now? Democrats not only have the Presidency now, like they did during the 90's, but also a firm majority in Congress. When political rats are cornered, as it were, they can prove the old adage of being "crazier than sh*thouse rats.""

If you knew anything about history, you would know that the Dems had firm control of the congress, and a control on the Presidency many other times in the past 50 years or so. And, no one got this upset. No one felt cornered. As a matter of fact, they had a similar majority when they passed the Brady Bill and Assault Weapons ban in the early '90s. Do you know why they lost that majority? Well, referring to my own personal copy of "My Life" by Bill Clinton, it is because of those two gun bills that they lost that majority, flipping the congress for the first time in 44 years. Want to see it happen again? Pass the wrong bill. What the big panic is, is the pervasive Liberalism that is getting out of hand. I am a moderate and associate with quite a few Democrats. We all hate liberalism as much as we hate conservatism. Why? Because they are both EXTREMIST principles. We are done with it. I will NEVER let liberals take this country over with their ideals. I would rather see another Gettysburg before allowing that to happen. Both parties need the big purge. A colonic cleansing of Epic proportions.

Obama a radical? This is all part of the media's and the right winged attacks which make people (like those above) feel that way. Obama has been trying to work bi- partisan like. He had a good idea, but it isn't working because the republicans want him to fail at everything. The health care bill that was turned down was very status quo pro insurance lobbyists one which the GOP should have been over joyed over - instead they voted it down. I think Obama needs to wake up and smell the coffee- The right is out to destroy anything he does, they are out to make him look like a radical so he should stop all this bi partisan-ship and do what Bush did ! Bull doze in his own policies and ignore the other side- then you'll see radical changes just like we did when Bush took us to war and his radical foreign policies with secrecy and spying and torture.
Radical my foot ! health care for all is now radical selfish ness is the norm .

I will grant you during the Clinton years many conservatives were over the top in their attacks on Bill. The excessive attacks were lead by the professional politicans suppported by many of the talk show hosts. Today the pols are not leading but rather behind the curve. Granted the talk show hosts are providing the detailed ammunition to the concerned citizens but this movment is not a right wing conspiracy but rather a growing segment of Americans that have the gut feel that Obama is taking America in direction that they feel is un-American. Call it racist, ignorant, selfish or any other pejorative you choose but it is not a conspircay but rather an awakening of the silent majority.
