Doctors should make that determination.

low-income families don't pay income taxes. Are you saying that Obama is going to raise taxes on the rest of us to pay for those tax-credits ?

And doesn't that mean the cost of cap-and-trade is even higher than the CBO says for the rest of us, lending more accuracy to MY annual cost figure than yours ? My, my. Look who's peddling disinformation now.

The true projection increase number is $170 per year. Obama has said he would tax-credit lower income families so they wouldn't be affected disproportionately.

And this...

"But I'd also like to see partial birth abortions banned except when the life of the mother is truly at stake."

...is already the law of the land. What you're suggesting is that doctors can't be trusted to determine the health of the mother. Who should make that determination?

Rev,
In looking through the CBO information you linked to, the CBO says the following:

"Although the dollar increase in outof-pocket expenditures stemming from the compliance costs would be substantially larger for high-income households ($1,400) than for low-income households ($430), it would impose a larger proportional burden on low-income households..."

In light of this, where did you come up with your statement that cap-and-tax would only cost $13 per month ? Are you purposely disseminating disinformation ????????

walter asks, "King….when you say but side with liberals on many social policies are you talking about a woman's right to choose?"

For me - Yes, grudgingly. I don't want abortions to be relegated to the back alleys like they used to be, and that's what would happen if abortions were outlawed. But I'd also like to see partial birth abortions banned except when the life of the mother is truly at stake. I'd also like to see abortions reduced significantly, which is why I also believe in comprehenseive sex education (not abstinence-only). I'd like to see society move away from abortion as much as possible, because at it's heart it sickens me.

Other Libertarians have to make their own determination, because the Libertarian saying is that your freedom stops at the other person's nose. That creates a paradox in the case of abortion, because a human fetus is a separate human. It isn't the mother. Exterminating it should not be taken lightly, because that extermination takes away all conferring rights of that developing human, which is my major complain with the pro-choice movement. They act like the fetus isn't a consideration at all. It is.

And before you ask, I also don't have a problem with gay marriage.

You got me on the link. OK, I'll play your game, why would you include a link to the document and then include a quote from some that says it does not exist?

The vast majority of Democrats are decent people. They are just waking up to the fact that your party has been taken over by the far left. Many of which do not have the nation's best interests at heart. (think Van Jones) When they speak of redistributing, they do not always mean internally.

If it is not meant to stunt the economy, then the other possibility is legislative incompetence. I'll let you pick from the two.

Utilities are a monopoly. They must submit price increases to the public utilities commission. The commission makes sure that the increases have a business case for them, not just to increase profits. Often that are held to a certain percentage. It used to be 6% for Ma Bell.

On the other hand, I support any normal business' right to raise prices. If BP wants to add 5 cents to their prices, they have every right to do so. But we as consumers have the right to choose Circle K instead.

The Democrats purposely wrecked our economy Rev in 2007 when they didn't step in to stop the fall. Bush had several proposals on the table but they rejected them all. They didn't even offer solutions because they said they couldn't get the votes so they would just wait until they got a super majority and the presidency. They were the ones that messed up the whole thing incliding the banks and the insurance companies etc. starting in the 90's.

Hey bzzzp.....that's the link from which my post was taken. Just sayin'.

Breathtaking.....isn't strong enough for this...

"It is also a covert way to stunt our economy, in an attempt to let the rest of the world catch or pass us.

You mock truth when you accuse people of lying about your lie."

You are suggesting that Democrats are purposely trying to stunt America's economy. You call that truth?

Additionally, when electric companies raise prices so they can make more profits for their shareholders....do you complain? Isn't that like a tax on everybody?
